  1. As a real life resident of oregon, I can confirm that some messed up stuff happens round these parts (I live in the woods south of Sandy, Oregon)
  2. chapter 15 part 2 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d2hRTLdvdnk Blur. Pain. Burn. Bill came to his senses lying facedown on the pavement. He rolled onto his back to find himself looking up at blazing skyscrapers. He lay there, waiting to die. If he ran, the battle drones would notice him and kill him. If he did not, eventually they would still kill him. This is how it was going to end. He was a engineer, going to be killed by machines. How Ironic. A spray of tracers flew over him, aimed at a group of soldiers down the street. The drone hovered over him, too busy killing laythiens to notice him. That was when he lunged. With all his remaining strength, he ripped the back panel off the drone and emptied his magazine into the now exposed electronics. One of those bullets hit somthing critical and the drone fell lifeless to the ground. Bill grabbed the edges of the hole and pulled the dead machine into cover. He ripped out anything devoted to autonomous control but left the motor controllers and power supply. He had his nanobots figure out the rest, building switches and levers to allow Bill to control it. He grabbed a helmet from a fallen Eeleian trooper and fastened it to his suit with nanobots. A person standing on the outside of the city would have seen a peculiar sight. The flashes of gunfire ripping the buildings apart from the inside, the artillery shells raining down from the fleet above, and a point of light, ascending through the mayhem, starbound. Bill was trying to slow down. He had badly misjudged when he should do so and was coming in hot. But as he was doing so, he was thinking about how to get inside the battleship. And he laid in a heading and let go of his impromptu booster, nanobots scurrying back up his arms to form reaction wheels. The drone crashed into a service docking port and punched thru. To avoid splatting like a bug on a windshield, Bill vented some of the gas from his unused jet engines. He set down inside the airlock, hooked in his vr glasses, and started hacking away. -Finals are over, school is almost done, and summer awaits. prepare for more Year 312!-
  3. don't forget that ice is a critical terraforming ingredient (im looking at you, Eeloo. I'm coming for you)
  4. chapter 15 part one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_r2jqib5EXU Bill sleepily wandered into his kitchen to make some koffie. He flicked on the TV and the morning news flickered on for but a second before a new screen popped up with the words BREAKING NEWS plastered in red bars on the borders of the screen. the reporter, wide-eyed and clutching the microphone with an iron grip, began to speak. A few seconds later, Bill no longer needed the koffie. Eeloo had openly attacked Laythe. The planet Bill happened to be on at the moment. He ran outside his apartment with a pair of binoculars and looked up. Sure enough, a city on the horizon was aglow with flashes of light. But why? Eeloo was currently not on any other systems good sides, they had no hope of winning a war. He stared at the ships hanging above, he counted about a dozen brand spanking new Eelian battleships. he counted a few more in the dots that were the smaller ships and escort carriers. It was a sizable armada, but probably all Eeloo had. If he recalled correctly, the Super Strider was the only battleship in Eeloo's fleet at the time of the crew's escape a few years ago. It was just a bad decision, anyone could see that. So what had caused the fleet to follow whatever madkerb was behind the helm? His train of thought was suddenly interrupted by his neighbor, who was a military volunteer, dive off his terrace in full flight gear, rifle mounted on his back. Bill was struck by a sudden urge to follow him. After wrestling with why for a few seconds, he realized. Laythe had become his home. He had to defend it. He grabbed the pistol he kept under his bed and fastened his flight gear. he walked over to his terrace and let the bottle of nanobots transition the lift surfaces from straps on his clothes to his arms, legs, and back. Trying to copy his neighbor, he jumped of his balcony only to flail ungracefully into a level glide. The nanobots assembled themselves into tiny whirling spirals, hooked up to a soda can sized RTG, and mounted themselves on Bills trailing wing edges, serving as ailerons and propulsion. The top speed was humble, but Bill would need the gas powered jets later and he did not want to burn all his fuel. And so he set of for the distant warzone.

  7. its ok, first hand experience tells me that kerbals must have at least more than one heart.
  8. oh yeah, i guess he would be able to breathe on kerbin or laythe no matter what due to water in the air. Of course he could just modify his eva suit to have water tanks and a humidifier, but this would give him a Antaeus-like weakness. We must remember though that we are forgetting the possibility of the exposed nerve scenario.
  9. (Reads top line) (slams head repeatedly into table) ok were were we? the EVA pack is not even needed by anzer anymore,as his faceplate is smashed and his fuel is gone, however he can still change orientation by spinning his arms in circle like a reaction wheel and go places by picking up ring debris and throwing it behind him. as for the question of whether he can breath air. there are two ways for this to work, one of which would definitely let him breathe both water vapor and oxygen, and another that might not let him breath oxygen. the first is that exposed nerves in the lungs could separate the hydrogen from the oxygen thru electrolysis. this has the downside of requiring large amounts of energy (somthing kerbals might have in abundance, depending on whether kerbals really have chlorophyll in their skin) , so Anzer would get very tired breathing water vapor. the second is that the lungs processing cells (the ones that usually break O2 into two oxygen atoms) actually mutated to be able to break the oxygen out of water. if all the lung cells did this, Anzer would not be able to breath oxygen. if a mix of water vapor/oxygen processing cells were achieved, he could breathe both with limited capability (no rigorous exercise allowed)
  10. ah, you make me remember the days training with my science probe bomber. I have never quickloaded so much in my life.
  11. Chapter 14 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NIODdfGHRF0 (you know the drill by now, also i'm baaaaaaaack!) A couple hundred years of exposure to solar radiation. mutation of preserved flesh cells in most vulnerable areas of kerbal genome, a rather radiation resilient species. tiny electric discharges due to static in ring system enabled cells to maintain comatose state. Complete widespread mutation of subjects cells. Subjects lungs become capable of processing water vapor, a abundant resource in Eeloo's rings. A passing spacecraft, most likely the Eelian battleship EGS Super Strider mixes the debris in the ring system, allowing a massive static shock to be built up. This shock discharged into the heart, and after a few tentative convulsions, began beating steadily. The kerbals eyes fluttered open. After quickly realizing the faceplate was smashed, the subject began to instinctively reach for the patch kit, but reasoning got the better and the subject realized that they were breathing...something. Anzer Kerman recalled the now fabled tragedy that had occurred in orbit all those years ago, his last memory being his vision fading as he watched Mayzee...no..."NOO!" he shouted to no avail. This still was space after all. He checked all around him, hoping to see some sign of civilization. There was no reason to assume that he had been asleep for any large amount of time, and although this only strengthened his misconceptions, he spotted a space suit floating not 100 meters away. He used the ring debris to move to the suit, and when he arrived, his worst fears were confirmed. there were multiple holes in Mayzee's suit, including the faceplate. even if the proper mutations had been made, Anzer figured, (he was smart enough to know that the radiation had likely saved his life.) there was no way the organs could support life. She was dead. Anzer would have wept, but the tears simply turned to snowflakes and floated off. In his rage, he remembered Gene's message to him before they left on their final voyage. About the rumors of how the militarist faction North Kerbin Dynamics had been contracted by the Flat Kerbin society to prevent the Eeloo landing at all costs. Anzer was not currently in a open state of mind and immediately jumped to conclusions. The eruption was not cryovolcanic, it was a attack. In Anzer's now twisted mind, he saw the fall of the space program, stoned to death by a malicious public. He saw the Flat Kerbin Society, with their North Kerbin Dynamics minions, nuke the entirety of the planet. Seeing the sprawling city's under him, he jumped to yet more conclusions and saw the multi billionaires that drove the Flat Kerbin engine see a entire suite of planets, ripe for financial exploitation, and with almost no resistance from the now shattered space program, gain the majority of political power. All of this, of course, was highly unlikely, but Anzer was so filled with rage he didn't really care. As the Zephyrs disciplinary officer, he carried a now antique pistol at his side. In the distance, he spotted a one man mining ship harvesting ice from the rings. Anzer undid the safety on his firearm and started to make his way over to the unsuspecting miner.
  12. thomberry kerman, robotic space krakenlord killing super solder. (i'm thinking a space version of the MEC troopers from enemy within)
  13. as far as water impact resistance goes, i don't think the chair would have changed anything. the big question is if whether the enterprise crushed her on impact.
  14. somewhat, i have been extraordinarily busy lately ant when i am not i'm doing family stuff. should try to get this going again soon.
  15. just give the kraken lord the idea of throwing every planet at kerbin. then all your destinations will all be super close! (ducks to avoid thrown object)
  16. (Gasps) DUN DUN DUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  17. i don't have any problem with the actual price tag on the expansion, its just that trying to get my parents to buy anything online for me (i pay them back) is like pulling teeth. So thanks for some content that i'll never be able to use.
  18. when the Kraken Lord opened up Omega-77 on bop a few chapters back, wouldn't thomberry's dead body still be there? (not to mention the smell that must have been produced by a dead body lying and a sealed space for a few years)
  19. banned for having a ugly profile picture.
  20. ok, lets just set aside the bugs and flaws. KSP is a great game, and I am thankful for each and every one of the developers for creating this masterpiece of software. A new game is not what you need. I am on a robotics team and i know that when you build to improve and add on, the old poorly designed segments become more and more of a hindrance until you have to face them and fix them, no matter how much work it takes. That's what the devs are doing now, taking old parts of the game that were not built with the future in mind and improving them. They had to do it at some point, so stop whining and be glad that they're almost done.
