  1. Hi, Fellow Kerbonauts! After hours of grueling work and trial and error, I present to you, the Voyager Shuttle! A reusable launch system (space shuttle) capable of delivering payloads into Low Kerbin Orbit. Craft File and Subassemblies: https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0ByFj3hLfFCqbMjh4WU9LTEhCd00&usp=sharing Instruction Manual: https://docs.google.com/document/d/12Wi1ak1a-ioygwxQ0_147SV63IPf0VtKdtkZYnCNbYM/edit?usp=sharing
  2. I'm coming in from a 100km orbit, not that low Also, This is an unmanned shuttle and I am using the 2.5m white nosecone to shield the front. (I think it's called the MK70 nosecone or something). Check out the craft file, it should help. I updated the post.
  3. I actually don't deliver my payloads at geostationary with the shuttle itself. I use an upper stage (invented by me) to get me into GTO and GO. But still. Very detailed explanation. Although I get the first paragraph, I have a bit of trouble understanding the rest. Sorry that my English isn't very advanced. Is it okay if you put it a bit more briefly? Thx anyway! Well then, Here's the craft file: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0ByFj3hLfFCqbbm94VTBiOUt6Qm8/view?usp=sharing I'll update the post!
  4. GO means geostationary orbit. Well, that's how SpaceX says it anyway. Sorry for the confusion :P. I'll try using less acronyms in the future. Honestly, I don't know the answer to that. With all of my fuel tanks full, I can be reassured that my center of mass will always be in the right position compared to the center of mass. I don't know much about keeping your COM in control, so....
  5. Hi, fellow Kerbonauts! I was developing my Voyager Shuttle: a reusable launch system capable of sending small payloads into orbit (there is a subasembly of a second stage for delivering payloads into GO, but that's irrelevant). I did quite a lot of tests and couldn't seem to re-enter without burning up. The only way I can survive re-entry is if I do a super-super-super ballistic re-entry, having the nose pointing down around 45 degrees. I tried testing some systems (only one, actually). I had a large 2.5m nosecone (I think it's called the MK-76 nosecone) attached to a decoupler with some sepatrons, so it is detachable. Behind that I have a 2.5m heat shield to try to protect it from re-entry. That did not work. I kept burning up, even with the heat shield. Not that it ran out of ablator, but it overheated. I added some A.I.R.B.R.A.K.E's, but no luck either. I need help. One thing that might be contributing to my failed re-entries is that the shuttle has over 1,000 units of fuel left over when the mission is complete. Not sure if that's relevant, but just something you might need to know. Also, I can't upload my craft file because it says "The page you are trying to access is not available for your account" every time I click insert other media and insert existing attachment. If anyone knows any techniques I could use, please let me know. Is it my craft that's wrong, or is it my technique that's wrong? If it's my technique (and you can re-enter fine) please let me know how to re-enter a spaceplane without it burning up. I'll try to upload my craft file as soon as I can. Edit: Here's the craft file - https://drive.google.com/file/d/0ByFj3hLfFCqbdmJ4NWU1ZjhDNGc/view?usp=sharing Thanks!
  6. Alright then. I'll try my best. I haven't tried to recreate a Delta II before, so this may be new to me. Also, I have my eye on the "Launchers Pack". Its quite a good mod that replicates real spacecraft. Not sure if you guys have it or not so I just need to confirm. If not, then I might use Real Scale Boosters.
  7. Oh. do you guys have trouble finding the download? If so, then there's a mirror right here: http://www.This website cannot be used on these forums/download/rxcwv4q7an13zvw/SovietEngines.zip. If that is not your problem, then I understand.
  8. Hi, Mate! About the RD-180, I just downloaded the soviet engines pack and it has the RD-180 as well as some other Russian engines, so that's problem solved. However, I'm not so sure which AJ-10 you are mentioning. As far as I know, Centaur Upper Stages have a single or two RL-10's. But if you mean I could create my own rocket in the style of an Atlas V, then could you please specify which type of AJ-10 you want (the ones I have are the puny, low thrust ones, which I'm sure would NOT work for an Atlas V styled rocket) and what mod I can find it on. Thanks!
  9. This seams like a really interesting thread! Quite a creative idea! I have a just two questions: Can I design a launch vehicle too, and if you guys accept it and launch it, how do I know what time and day the livestream is? Thanks!
  10. Thanks for the suggestion! I've been looking for those engines for ages! Apparently, they aren't in the FASA or Soviet Engines pack
  11. ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. My mistake. Thanks!
  12. Well, when I clicked on the link, its just blank. No text, no download. Nothing.
  13. what? you can use soviet engines? for some reason, i attempted to download it from CKAN and it says it couldn't download it. so i clicked that github link and it showed an error. so i went to bobcats thread and apparently, the only way i could get it was on kerbalstuff. no surprise, i later found out that kerbalstuff has now been shut down. how, dude. HOW
  14. Hello, Fellow Kerbonauts! I know that I have already posted this but I still haven't quite found anything that meets my needs: I need a mod which contains realistic rocket engines that go with RO/RSS (like Soviet Engines). But since Soviet Engines is now impossible to download, I can't really find appropriate engines for my upper stages. So can anyone recommend a mod that adds realistic engines similar to the ones in Soviet Engines? Thanks!
  15. Hello, Fellow Kerbonauts! I was playing RSS/RO a while ago and I wanted to put on some RCS thrusters for my upper stage and payloads. But most of them require Hydrazine to work and for some reason, I cant find Hydrazine in my RealFuels options? Unfortunately, I uninstalled RSS/RO because it was taking up too much memory, so I can't send you pictures or anything. But anyway, does anyone know what's going on? Thanks!
  16. Look, I'm asking about the capabilities of the Dragon, not about which company rejected or proposed it. I was asking the question " So does anyone know how the Dragon spacecraft maneuvers". So if you're gonna pop into my thread and look at the comments just to prove someone wrong, you can shut up, thanks.
  17. Hello Fellow Kerbonauts! I was on spacex.com recently and I was looking on the Dragon section. I noticed that the dragon (both V.I and V.II) didn't have service module engines. This really puzzled me because, how does a spacecraft adjust it's orbit without engines? So does anyone know how the Dragon spacecraft maneuvers? Thanks!
  18. Hello, Fellow Kerbonauts! I just heard of the application Kerbal EDU and it seemed really interesting. Of course, I do have few questions for those of you who have kerbal EDU or is a developer of the game. But what I would like to ask is how is Kerbal EDU different from normal KSP? Are there new systems? Is sandbox removed? Thanks!
  19. OMG, is this rlly happening? When's the release date?
  20. Can you please do the Mk 1-2 pod? Also wondering, do any of the buttons work?
