  1. This challenge has already been on for a while now coming of and on. This is actually I think the third reboot of the hypersonic challenge? So yeah, I haven't been spending much time on KSP recently, moving onto other hobbies but I have certainly not quit yet! But I don't have the time right now to reboot the challenge again (as this one has lost a bit of attention) so for now, this CHALLENGE IS CLOSED. So posted craft wont be verified anymore or go into the leaderboard. I may do another reboot later on in the future but for now thats that. Congrats to those that submitted crafts and thanks for posting on this challenge!

It can take off horizontally, its just very difficult to do.

As for landing, I didn't get a chance to try (it either exploded or went into a solar orbit) but I did add landing gear to the bottom and it has canards and fins and could probably glide. If you want me to make it better at landing I could try adding drogue chutes.

EDIT: Here is a picture of it on the ground, the final design was exactly the same except it was raised up for an easier launch (taking off is not my best skill:D):YinJCG7.png

    @Kerminator1000 congrats, here is the 3000 M/S badge!http://CYZVr6i.png?3

  3. Alright, sorry for not being active on the forum as I haven't playing KSP in a while, and started doing a LOT of flight simming (lol). Anyway here are the badges!

@QuarkyGirl, awesome speed and here is your badge! :http://uZXd5ve.png?1

@JorgeCS, here is the badge! http://uZXd5ve.png?1 btw, that looks quite a bit like a D-21!

    http://uZXd5ve.png?1 @Pds314, here is yours!

Once again sorry for not monitoring this thread enough.

u just banned me from the challenge i can't update the game remember can I have a non updated version because that would ban people with mods even if they don't use them in the station

can i have the save before you got it so i can make the changes and then update the game when im done don't exclude people who cannot update the game.

i was building a separate station I usually have kestler syndrome so 250KM is minimum safe height for stations(most of the debris is so small i can't just de-orbit it

if i cannot play than please do my minmus station idea for me

are updated savegames compatible with older versions

Can You just do the minmus idea for me

    Sure!

note i am planning on moving it to avoid debris, in my games LKO has kestler syndrome so putting anything there seems stupid if you look at my game

when j just started to play a booster from my first eve probe destroyed a kerbaled duna mission, the upper stage from my first space station eventually blew it to bits(there were no kerbals on board i had not sent a transport up yet)

Now do you get my point im moving it to avoid kestler syndrome as my boosters hang around

also are we still using 1.8.1 as i cannot update the game

By the way, do you mean that you will move the WSS to Minmus orbit? I would like it to stay in Kerbin orbit, and it is the World Space Station after all. I thought you would be building a seperate station, which I think would be an awesome idea.

I will attach a propulsion module to the station to dodge debris(my missions create a lot) also the station will be moved into synchronous orbit(don't worry about the problems with moving it the propulsion module will use ion drives and accelerate the station at 0.5 M/S a second. also this will be done over a period of 1 ingame Year

What is the mass of the station?

Of the WSS? I have no idea

thanks because this means a lot

also the modules i am adding will add more docking ports what size do you want all my stations use a standard size of the  1.25 meter docking port. do you want me to add an adapter for larger or smaller ports.

Yes, please, as that would allow a greater range of expansion to the station later on.

Well that looks good and everyone starts small, but I would just practice docking if I were you and after your reasonably good at it try to build something bigger.

how about i build a smaller station in minmus orbit and have a shuttle that can go there from the WSS refuel and come back i already have a working ssto design also i will add more docking ports

(refuel means refuel off of the MSS(Minmus Space Station) which has a lander to go down to the surface and get ore)

also I have moved a 5 module space station as part of the stock space race also im using mods so can i send you guys the craft files and you launch it(rocket included)

or can i have the mods if i don't use them at all

    my modlist is below

    KW Rocketry

    Research Bodies

    Kerbal Reusability Expansion

do you want me to add a new docking module?

so we have more docking ports

but my main goal is the MSS to be set up and also have one around the Mun then have shuttles for both note there will be a SSTO docking section added

That is a very good idea.

Hi, i am newbie here. I just start playing KSP. So far i have managed to build several plane and fly them, landing is not an option though. So, im interested in learning KOS script to automatically fly and land them. Does anyone have a sample script that i can use? Thank you very much!

If you want to land your craft nicely, first have a nice approach onto the runway, keeping your speed low. Just above stall speed is good. Then, just before touchdown, pull up on the elevator, making the plane pitch up. But due to your low airspeed you won't go up but merely slow your descent resulting in a gentle touchdown.

    Hope this helps!
