  1. Somewhere beside a river in Russia? Wait, I know. It must be coordinates to somewhere in KSP! Maybe somewhere on Bop!
  2. I collected some pictures of interesting behavior in FAR Kleinhans, with and without the new DLL. The center of mass seems to unexpectedly shift off-center when placing wings in VAB. Upon launch, the rocket does turn by itself in the direction of the red arrow provided by RCS build aid, so I believe that the information that the mod provided is correct. The same rocket is in all the pictures. Craft file I do have mods installed. The only ones that change physics are Claw's Stock Bug Fixes + Stock Plus, and FAR. I don't think Claw's fixes changes the center of mass though, unless the body lift fix jams with FAR code or something. If this seems like a promising lead, I can try reproducing this with a clean install.
  3. I've tried flying the Aeris 3A, and it takes off straight as an arrow. My planes, however, tend to veer left and right on takeoff. I've managed to take off straight on 0 friction control, where the wheels appear to have no friction, so my engines do not have a sideways thrust offset. I am using symmetry and have tried placing wheels on fuselage and on wings, rotating them to various camber or lack of camber. I even used the Hangar Grid mod to force align all of my wheels to perfection. Looking at my planes, they tend to be back heavy, but I've always built them like that in prior versions, and they do not drift. The actual aerodynamics of my planes are fine, but they just can't take off straight. Can anyone determine the reasoning? It's just frustrating that the stock planes function perfectly while mine do not anymore. Here is one of my craft that exhibit this tendency. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/18568121/Goose%20Long%20Range%20Crew%20Carrier.craft This is my modlist, the only physics altering mod is FAR and I've had drifting without it.
  4. With KSP 1.1 and increased part count capability, I can finally build a starcraft-style command center, and thanks to this mod, I'll be able to lift it off and fly it around! Hmm, maybe pair it with BD Armory and create Starcraft:KSP edition?
  5. The Vulture is one of my more functional craft designs, since it is quite maneuverable yet stable. It's designed for FAR, KJR and Dynamic Deflection, warranty void if exposed to stock atmosphere/physics. Abort triggers the emergency cockpit separation, intended for the pilot surviving aerodynamic failures / wings made of Swiss cheese. Abort does not work well if the plane is nosediving into the ground due to the time it takes for the chutes to deploy. It carries 8 AGM missiles, a targeting pod, a radar receiver, and a mostly useless ECM pod (since it drains too much electricity to have on all the time). Power is provided by both the turbofan as well as a fuel cell. Secondary armaments are 2 rocket pods and a vulcan. By default, all my craft carry a probe core because I keep obliterating them and I would go through too many kerbals if I didn't always use them. I have tuned BDA's AI pilot for the plane to reliably work, or at least not immediately nosedive into the ground, so have fun! https://www.dropbox.com/s/y98t7y96udwmo0h/Vulture.craft?dl=0 Requires BDArmory to load.
  6. For your plane built around the Goliath, is the hatch blocked? With all that clipping, I wonder how they even bolt Jeb in, in the first place. 0.o
  7. Nice job spotting the other emplacement and spotting Collision fx. Yes, the crew report was probably a factor in crashing, but I've done it before without crashing, so it's not the sole cause. Are you sure it's AA rockets? Usually they blow the plane up a lot more, especially in the wing parts. What direction are the rockets coming from? and why would I trigger a crew report in the first place, on a drone plane nonetheless? What is causing the collision effects? Usually my ksp crashes due to too many things happening at once. Could that be a clue?
  8. Let's play a game (no, not KSP). My game suddenly froze up because I did something dumb. I was able to hit printscreen before force closing it, though. From the final screenshot, what do you think happened? I am running a modded install, you can list mods you recognize that I am using too as part of your deductions. Note: This is not an attempt to solicit technical advice. I just want to see what people make of my screenshot.
