  1. As stated earlier, a 2.0 vs KSP 2 are two different things. If we're talking about 2.0, normally when you see a major build number change (in this case possibly 1.0 to 1.1), you generally see a fundamental change in the code-behind of the product, be it refactoring for optimization, revamped engine, or some other 'game-changer'. Just my two cents. So we could possibly one day see KSP 2.0, but I think a lot would have to change for a major build increase like that, i.e. porting to something other than Unity (never going to happen), or major feature additions (more in-depth planets, another solar system, etc). We're more likely to see KSP 1.2, 1.3, 1.4, etc.
  2. My god I can't believe this topic is still even a thing.
  3. That happens though with 1099 type contractors. I was once offered a contract for $500 to build an application. Would have taken around 120 hours, less than $5 an hour. Completely legal, and well below wage standards. Flat fee contracts are a different beast, and it's easy to get screwed. But it's a very common thing.
  4. Gotta love currency conversion. Mexico Minimum Wage: $70.10(MEX)/day | $3.92(USD)/day Per Year: $18,226(MEX)/year | $1,019.87(USD)/year His Salary: $42,890.15(MEX)/year | $2,400(USD)/year That's above minimum wage, legal, and about right for a small business in Mexico City. Software development sucks (I'm a dev). High-stress, high-pressure, long hours. It is what it is. You do it becuase you love making the stuff.
  5. Sheer curiosity here....Is all you do KSP? I mean, are you allowed to work on RO at work when you need to clear your head from base KSP for a bit (since it's related), or do you work on it in your free time (meaning KSP is your life, like us lowly little minions)?
  6. I'd like to think I got my $39.99 worth. I would have gladly paid a big-box, 59.99 for it. But that being said, sure, I would pay that now, but I'm not sure I would have when I first got into the game, because I didn't know what I was getting in to. Re: Mods not working and game crashing, I've seen like 500 mods just on CKAN (not counting those on SpaceDock that aren't in CKAN). I'm running an install with over 75 mods installed, and I haven't seen one single crash to desktop (except when I've accidentally launched the 32-bot version.). Not even any hard freezes. For me, the game is in a pretty polished state, with the exception of landing gear/wheels. I'd recommend this came to anyone and everyone, and it's value is far greater than 39.99. Minecraft is $30 (rougly), and it's a far more expansive and realistic game than that.
  7. The last post from that same thread Not to do all the work for you, but that thread then links here.
  8. I think there's definite room for improvement, but i'm generally happy with it. As was mentioned, I'd like to have seen some other plugins made stock, for example, they could have pulled in something like Blizzy's toolbar, added anchoring and such, so a user could customize the order, size, available buttons, and position of their toolbar, as @AlamoVampire said. Better UI scaling would have been nice. I'm a fan of the 'widget' style layout, where *everything* can be resized, repositioned, or closed as you see fit. That's just me though. Overall, yes, there's some quirks here or there, but a lot of those a new player or less "serious" (not sure how to word that) player wouldn't even notice. If I wasn't playing before 1.1, I wouldn't notice a lot of the things I consider "quirks". Just my .02 funds.
  9. I think that's what you're looking for. Then, go into your steam directory, and just copy/paste the Kerbal Space Program directory somewhere else on your hard drive. The one within Steam will get updated, but you can just use the old executable in the copied location. Several people do this to keep multiple copies of KSP, actually.
  10. Yep. 1.1 is out. To revert to 1.0.5 I believe you have to go to ksp in steam, properties, beta tab, and previous stable release. I think.
  11. Reply to: A) I agree. Squad can work on what they want. The way a lot of gaming and software companies do it is they get a product to a stable state (which is close). Then they split off. They'll have a "core" KSP team that continues working on the project, then have another team which works on new products and other assorted "black ops". B) I think this will be pretty much gone. SQUAD has stated that their mantra is now that save-breakers are unacceptable. Good stuff on them. C) That is the pipe dream of every software developer, ever...lol. Start fresh knowing what we know now. Never feasable, but always what we *want* to do.
  12. Pre-release forums have been locked.
  13. I'd be willing to bet that their marketing people will make special editions. After all, it's a good way to make more money.
  14. Bahaha ha. You mean like the last month of soons?
