  1. If tethers are used, I have an idea on how to make them more versatile. Give them a "hook" that can attach to any ladder-like rung. For example, you could attach it to the pod's ladder, or even those tiny ladders on the Z4k Battery bank or the Hitchhiker pod
  2. Actually, I just downloaded a fresh (and newer) version of ksp earlier to test out airships, and during the loading, I got a crash report. I'll upload it via dropbox here . I think I accidentally included all my crashes, so it should the one or two most recent.
  3. Found it. Just going to put those in my own custom firespitter folder.
  4. I have the .version file and a parts guide. Is the DLL in a folder? edit: nice job with linux in your username
  5. Do I really need Firespitter for this? I don't want _all_ those extra parts.
  6. This whole thing has to be put in a bound copy and sold on Amazon when finished. Just to make it complete.
  7. Sorry. Was trying to do two things at once. Gotta get back to kerbalx.
  8. I also have a related idea. If I parachute a kerbal from a flying plane, all should go well, right? Well, no. If you, even briefly, brush against another part, the parachute is disabled. This really sucks when the cockpit is in the front of a plane and there is a wing or engine behind it. Changing how kerbals interact with other parts may affect this. More on-topic, fixing this would let me finally make amphibious transports. I once had a naval mod that let you open a cargo ramp. My tankish vehicle I was loading on was able to roll on, but once it left contact with the terrain, only momentum kept it going forward. I think this is something we all need, but I have very little experience with this kind of game editing.
  9. I know this isn't the most recent mission, but how do I load them? Ignore that. Just realized its dlc
  10. I have a rover I am using for my attempt at a Minmus Elcano Challenge, and my attempt is going mostly ok. My rover is here . I have had some solar panels broken, and once I lost more parts, I sent up a KIS repair ship with supplies. After doing so, I noticed that one of my two 2x4 panel arrays were broken. As far as I knew, the flat panels could not be broken. I also was not able to find out until I right-clicked the part, where the status was Broken! What causes this part to become broken? And is there a better indicator of this status? There is no visual change between normal and broken status.
  11. I think a good idea for future DLC would be better bases. Some of the cool designs I've thought of, or some mod parts too, are too bulky to land. First could be an inflatable hab module similar to the inflatable heat shield. Inline, somewhat compact, and easy to build a fairing around. I also agree that stations could be better. Either you have a basic one for science farming, or you be like me and try to set up a large complicated network just to bring Ore from the Mun to an orbital station. Maybe, in career mode, you could generate rep or something for having a manned station. There could also be a new contract relating to stations: some sort of repair/evacuation, just to spice things up a little. If accepted, a timer would start, where an Engineer might have to conduct a series of tasks to 'repair' the station, sometimes with the help of others. If you can't do that in the time, you must either move the crew to another station(if applicable), or get them back to Kerbin. That could give a use to the escape pods that are always handy to have.
  12. @Curveball Anders I was doing with KAC at that moment. Between setting up Mun and Minmus relays, getting an Elcano Challenge rovver to Minmus, and getting an Eve expedition underway at the same time, I can say KAC really saved my butt with its time management skills.
  13. When I did this, I wasn't actually expecting it to work. I was going to set up the relays anyway, but with horrrible alignment like I did with my Kerbin relays. Sometimes, I don't have the best of luck when googleing things. I also make sure to put my relays extra high up just in case, say, I have an emergency dive orbit.
  14. Hi guys. Today, I was toying with MJ while setting up relays around the Mun. In doing this, I have figured out a perfect way to set up your relay sattelites. 1. First off, this requires three relay sats, all attached to the same vessel, and, unless you are a rocket scie-- have internet access, MJ. 2. Get into the altitude you want for deploying your relay sats. 3. Deploy one satellite. 4. Make sure you are clear of it, then open up MJ's maneuver planner window. 5. Create a maneuver for a 2/3 resonant orbit and complete the burn. It doesn't matter when. 6. Tell MJ to circularize at your AP. Delploy Sat 2. 7. Repeat with Sat 3. Give this a like if you found this helpful with your relay systems. It took me far too long to find this out myself.
  15. Also, another question: If I just use MechJeb to launch the launcher into Kerbin orbit an then don't use anywhere else, can I count my attempt as stock? The MJ module is attached to the launcher anyway.
  16. Within the next week, I hope to complete a circumnavigation of Minmus. I still need to set up a comm system around Minmus, But I do have a working rover that has been tested before. I've never actually launched someplace, and, in this save file, have never gone to Minmus. I have done it many times before in my science game, but never with a rover. I have a launcher in mind, and developing the landing system will also help with my landing system for my base modules. As a sneak peek, I will attach the file for my rover via Kerbalx. I will post an Imgur album when done. https://kerbalx.com/Brendo/Kerbal-Surface-Exploratory-Vehicle-2
  17. HerobrineLiu: Nice designation list. That'll be good for organization. SiriusRocketry: Maybe Kagellan instead? I remember the phrase "adding k to every word." Genovast: Or rather Untitled 47, 47A, 47B, 47C. It _is_ multiple parts. Gargamel: Now you seriously have me considering doing the Elkano challenge. However, this is not a circumnavigation. I'll probably go with Kagellan and add some designation to the relays.
  18. Ah. Ok. Looks like I need to update my game again. I'm on 1.4.2.whatever.
  19. Is there a way to activate personal parachutes on kerbals from command seats? All my attempts at it had failed, but I have seen some vessels made by others able to do this.
  20. This is my first expedition to Eve, though it is unmanned. I have sent things to Duna, but on multiple flights. This is my first time sending up multiple probes/missions on one flight to another body. Its based off my own Delta IV Heavy design and launch profile. I just don't think the name Eve Package will cut it for my ship. Any creative people out there: What should I call this mission, and therefore the relays and lander attached to it? https://imgur.com/DoXF0Pa
  21. Quick question: why are you guys putting these grammar questions in spoilers?
  22. I found that out earlier today while playing one of my sandbox games. I also had VNG installed which does make the chute situation a little confusing.
  23. I don't have the expansion yet, but I'm thinking about it. I've noticed a few threads about using personal parachutes. Are these only in the expansion or are they part of an update I missed? Thanks
  24. I saw this first when the newest chapter was "the thin red line." At that point, I binge-read whenever I could, and got caught up within a few weeks, even to the chapters that came between the first sight and then. So much has changed, but the questions raised this have not. This sounded like a deeper statement in my head. Keep up this great work, even though I probably said that quite a few times.
  25. Yeah. I find that if I am doing excursions on Minmus, I use the kerbal's EVA pack. Going via ground won't be the best, especially because of the little friction. Your lower weight(due to the low gravity) will result in a much smaller Fn than one might expect, and dramatically decreases how much Ff you will experience.
