  1. this I agree with. Also not unpopular in the netherlands....
  2. Granted. It immediately departs from the book's plot and is instead written by some 5 year olds found on the street and shot on a 2 dollar budget. I wish that if we are living in a post apocalyptic future that we'd at least have some of the neat technologies that were promised.
  3. booted up ksp for the first time in a while. Trying probably to make something for that airline challenge, but also sleek and super pointy. Also learning more about fairing based shaping, given thats getting much nicer in 1.10 Detail of the custom jet engine thingy. Contains 2 whiplashes.
  4. What about a sort of rotating disk thing that picks up a small amount of food from the food storage hopper thing before sliding it over another hole to the direction of the insects? IDK if that describes it well buut could be a solution.Would also only need one servo as well.
  5. you guys are sleeping at 12? What about using music to help drown out people noises?
  6. Maybe try uploading just a normal video format like mp4 to imgur. I checked out one of those super high quality gifs and judging by the url/file extension, it is an mp4. So they're not really gifs. As long as the file size is less than 200 MB, it should work fine (200 MB is what I heard is the max size, I just tested a 188 MB video file and that seems to work fine). They should (if all is good) also autoloop, so you dont have to worry about that.
  7. Slowly being moved across dimensions. Don't worry, perfectly normal occurrence.
  8. Wouldn't a) any civilian/scientist in space be also by definition an astronaut once they get into space and b) I personally would like the people who are in a tin can to at least somewhat competent in space (read: trained for spaceflight). not really randos. I dont think trained astronauts will lose their purpose for a while. And if you actually fund the manned side of things, pushing for longer term habitation on say the moon, your science benefit would also increase I think. (humans given a proper lab, can probably do more than some instruments ona probe, depending ofc on what the end goal is. I'm thinking more on the chemical analysis side of things, and doing stuff further with the material.)
  9. Granted. They're free because of a govt program, however, they can only be used to view propaganda to quell the masses and forget the reality of the world. I wish that I had another guinea pig.
  10. unpopular opinion building on this - while yes they are (probably) unrealistic, they are super convenient and I quite like a nice big flat plain sometimes.
  11. In fairness, Red bull does/did? (not super closely following everything) have a very good chassis/car, but also had issues with the power unit going on (I think this was more the case last year or the year before). I think what you see more especially is just how throwing money at a problem will tend to make things better. Would not be surprised if Mercedes/Ferrari/Red Bull (the 3 really competitive teams last year) are spending much more money compared to the other teams on the field and thus can make better performing cars. Also with the major 2021 rule changes coming up, probably a lot of time is being invested there. But yeah, Mercedes is very dominant, and Ferrari definitely messed something up for this year. But I wouldn't say the other engineers are sleeping. Aerodynamics especially is very tricky. (also pls note - I dont know super well what I'm talking about here so I could be wrong).
