  1. I use mechjeb to hold a SVEL+ 30-40° AOA for reentry. Do I have to try to hold AOA manually while doing my turns, or can I successfully do it while using MJ to hold AOA? I was also looking to see if AtmosphereAutopilot has a way for me to hold the pitch while allowing me to do gentle S-turns, but couldn't find it.
  2. Anyone have a good method for accomplishing the S-turns without spreading yourself from hell to breakfast? I tried doing it with my Columbia Shuttle, and well... it kinda did what the real one did.
  3. I think it would be cool to get a variant with the dark tiles where the control surfaces meet the wings, and maybe a tail variant with more black tiles at the top like Columbia and Challenger. I like the idea of the subtle but clear variations the shuttles had over their service lives.
  4. So they didn't actually do this IRL, but I made some tail number decals based on the orbiter designations. I have OV-101 through OV-114 for all the names that SOCK provides, as well as OV-099 for those who want to use Challenger's real number. If you are interested I can give them to you.
  5. I love these decals, especially now that Conformal Decals is now a thing. Would you be interested in making a horizontal Kerbal States decal for shuttles? (If you don't already have one and I'm just blind as a bat.)
  6. STS-51-L Patch STS-107 Patch Made these for my shuttles, but I can make these available if anyone is interested.
  7. So far I have not had luck with BDBs SAF fairings. I'm assuming Procedural Fairings will allow it. That's my only complaint. I can't put logos and stuff on fairings, but I can still put logos on for whichever agencies that I'm completing contracts for on my rockets.
  8. This is without hovering. I'm guessing the solution is to turn off the highlighter?
  9. @cineboxandrew I am noticing little green ghost boxes around the decals. Have you noticed this?
  10. This mod is absolutely amazing. I've already been playing with it a bit and it is exactly what I've been wanting from decals. I've already removed all my other decal mods.
  11. @Beale I totally support the default color becoming tan. After all, the mod is called Tantares. I would, however submit the idea for a darker color variant to be used for spacecraft such as the Soyuz, Progress, etc. Maybe keep the dark grey/black and the green, or maybe have a totally new color like brown. It would go with the tan, but still have a contrast and give a similar appearance to how a Mir or ISS looks with a Soyuz or Progress docked.
  12. I've tried the S-Turns and i always end up spinning out and sometimes breaking up altogether a-la Columbia. Any suggestions on when and how to do the S-Turns? I have Mechjeb and Atmosphere Autopilot along with a joystick.
  13. Has anyone had success landing the shuttle in JNSQ with FAR? I usually skip off the atmosphere at least once and then lose control in the lower atmosphere. I always overshoot the KSC and I have to bail my crew out. I am attempting to follow the manual and am using Trajectories to plot my reentry.
  14. Desert Tan and Arctic White Soyuz variants? I'm liking it. Definitely do this. It looks awesome.
  15. Shuttle External Tank Variants Config SSME Variant Configs If anyone has fixes, try them out and let me know. I have yet to turn these in to MM patches, but that's the plan. As of now, these are direct edits of the part cfg files.
  16. I have created configs for the STS External Tank and the KS-25 that add variants based on real life upgrades. The External Tank has the Painted, Standard Weight, Light Weight, and Super Light Weight variants. I am making the weight reductions proportional to the real thing. The engine config has the original FMOF (100%) version, and then KS-25A (104%) through KS-25D (111%). I could use some help putting those variants into the tech tree, and refining cost changes and stuff. I'll put the code in a spoiler when I get home so people can take a look at it if they want.

  18. How would I go about reducing a part's mass in a B9PS variant. I'm trying to make progressive versions of the Shuttle External Tank, which got lighter from the painted version, through the SWT, LWT and SLWT. Will the "addedMass" field accept a negative value?
  19. Look in the manual. I have FAR, and I have yet to be able to successfully make it to the KSC, but I'm working on it.
  20. I'm getting some engine light MM errors detected on startup. Not sure if those are on your end or a problem with the Engine Lighting mod, but I figured I'd bring them to your attention.
  21. Has anyone tried making RealFuels configs for this and reDIRECT? If not I may be able to make some, now that my computer runs much faster with KSP.
