Honestly, it is a semi-nice feature, but is not that nice enough to put it in super-ohmygawdwhatcoulditbe-secret level, for all the pre-0.24 talk about not showing 0.24 due to fear of "overhype" and dissapointment, your guys REALLY REALLY REALLY deserve this thread, specially since the last time your guys hyped a secret feature was landing gear suspension, i mean, what is wrong with you hyping small features like that or this? Stuff looks off too, concrete burning? and the runway destruction models look specially bad, like easy "just make a model covering thr runway" bad, probably because thats what it is But i guess your guys really love that "KERBAL EXPLOSION SIMULATOR" part of the fanbase has attached to everything Also i am calling 20000000 pics of KSP recreation of 9/11 In before deleted/edited by mods

Well, this Dev note seems like a improvement, you actually talk about what you are adding to the game and is long and detailed, more info in the nav ball and crew transfer are wellcome additions, hope we see more of this devnotes in the future And about the big thing, my money is in upgrading the Space Center buildings as you progress through the techtree using the administrative building
  3. Exactly my problem with them. One of the biggest problems with the planeparts is how they only fit themselves, people expected the artpass to fix the issue, but this makes you wonder if Squad knows why people were asking for the artpass in the first place. Personally, i say start from zero again with the MK3 parts, this ones are going to have the exact same problems as the old ones. I won't hold my breath on that one.

This sounds pretty irrelevant but i will keep reading O̶f̶ ̶c̶o̶u̶r̶s̶e̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶y̶ ̶a̶r̶e̶ ̶d̶i̶f̶f̶e̶r̶e̶n̶t̶ ̶t̶h̶a̶n̶ ̶K̶S̶P̶,̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶y̶ ̶a̶r̶e̶ ̶g̶o̶o̶d̶ ̶g̶a̶m̶e̶s̶ no, KSP doesn't have a 'defined genre' because it has multiple genres but they aren't exactly impossible to pinpoint and is pretty clear where the shots (or rockets if you will) are going, more exactly is a space flight simulator with management which while not very popular, are old genres the only thing than makes KSP stand is the rocket building, but that isnt exactly a lot to making it a different genre No, instead they say "It's a rocket building game! add more parts!" also the 'realistic space game' is the use of newtonian physics as opposed to "plane physics" there is a reason space combat games is its own genre apart from flight simulators

That doesn't mean they don't promote the game ON future "additions" either, Kobymaru being cautions about the whole thing taking into account some Early Access games story of promising stuff to raise sales and then run away with the money isn't that strange, specially if you remember the DLC drama
  8. Jeb is popular with the kids, a̶s̶ ̶y̶o̶u̶ ̶c̶a̶n̶ ̶s̶e̶e̶ ̶i̶n̶ ̶t̶h̶i̶s̶ ̶t̶h̶r̶e̶a̶d̶, so Squad pushes for him to be the first "thing" a new player sees, space exploration story be dammed. As far as i know for talking with Max, they are going to do the same when they add girlbals.

Squad is ALREADY working from the top down by pushing calling sandbox complete and doing career this soon while leaving other half-done features to the sides, fixing aerodynamics, make planets more interesting, life support, renetry heat, modular dificulty, relays, making bases/spacestations have a point... most of this affects both sandbox and career mode, yet its being left to God knows when if not ignored. probably something along the lines of "OH MY GAWD SQUAD IS A TINY BITTY COMPANY! STOP BEING SO ENTITLED! JUST DOWNLOAD A MOD FROM CURSEâ„¢ TO FIX IT! THEY WILL PATCH IT MAYBE!" which isn't actually that rare to hear.

Is not about curse (not only at least) but about Squad always ignoring the community for everything but marketing the game, in particular for modders (lol we make a iirc group to ask modders about opinions but then ignore them most of the time) in particular this Majiir post explains the situation better Thats for one part, for other is than TT has been in KSP for years and he (as others) have see the lost of data/content first of old mods and then the forums, so he is not happy watching Squad lost more data INTENTIONALLY this time, not to mention by some experiences Squad isn't trustworthy about promises (which related to curse, it can affect this forums) TT is only trying to do/doing what he percives as the only way to get Squad to listen, since by Majiir post, Squad hears, but doesn't listen
  11. So stock kerbals are both neutral and masculine? Also personally i am with Natashjy, the fem-texture just look "off", it maybe the obvious male names, the very exagerated lipstick or the kerbal default head and haircut doesnt actually give the "neutral" vibre something like this old pic works better, imo. But thats a model change. I personally think is better wait for Squad to make ferbals or kerwomen or what ever they/you want to call them.
  12. It was Artyom/Bac9 who made a whole article about it while talking about the new buildings. And i am sure no one is against some cartoony looks, but people can dissagree about it if it goes way to much into the cartoony part and the whole "lol so kerbal xD"

  14. flight sims usually dont have economic and reputation mechanics, while KSP is suppose to have them in the future, and "landing" rockets against cities would (or should) affect them unless of course Squad decides is too complicated for they target audience and then run with the whole theory about sub-keranean civilization

  17. the strong modding community is a double edge sword, for example one of the excuses to cut resources was "too similar to kethane" and people replying "well you could use kethane" and then there is the case when the stock implementation is inferior to the mod, even when Squad should be able to do better

  20. whats with the we and why the heck do you think you have the right to use it? Did you know than maybe after being told than multiplayer NEVER and then doing a 180º on that may actually change the opinions of players about it? specially when, at best, they push single player stuff to the sides for the sake of multiplayer, no to mention the whole stability and optimization problems are going to blow up the roof with more than one people playing the game which i dont see how they are going to fix that, and honestly is just adding more trash into the already big list of "things to do" they have And for other part the lack of any short of communication, oh yes, we are suppose to get a notice today(lets see how it turns that out), but why the heck let the forums burn about it for a whole weekend? not to mention than after a whole year of info they just say it was canned (with a "maybe in the future") in five minutes, say it wasnt fun and call it a day

  22. i dont know whats the meaning of transparency to you, but having a year of no info about them and then quickly say "nope we canceled them because they are too hard" is the opposite of transparency
  23. as far as i know the only changes to science in 0.23 are fixing the re-re-re-re-resending data and the additon of the space lab other than that, people are saying "its grinding" because Maxmaps said it about resources, in gameplay mechanics there is not a big difference (if you played kethane you will know) you basically land in a target area where the resource is, extract it with a specific part and its done, same as science, but one gives you fuel for the rocket and the other gives you points
  24. So how come science, than is very mechanically similar is in game, is grindy and simply not fun? With the difference than resources are something extra but not obligatory and works in both sandbox and career while science IS obligatory in career mode and pointless in sandbox
