  1. and kinda need to be mentioned a little, but another problem now a days, is how making a game "more accessible" also means it ends as deep as a water puddle because everyone should be able to access every part of the game, it doesnt help than the main difficulty of KSP is actually getting the whole space travel physics and how it works (i am sure a lot of us have that friend who just aims upwards and then wonders why the rocket falls back anyway) and once you get decent and making rocket designs and understanding the mechanics (not even "mastering" them) the game becomes pretty easy (also because this whole year squad has been adding stuff cented to new/bad players when adding nothing to keep the ball going for the ones who have been playing for a while), and as you say, resources were this feature for players than had been playing for a while
  2. the detail than everygame now a days seems to have multiplayer, even if the concept doesnt work well outside of a single player experience IS a problem in gaming today, and i am sure i am not the only one who think KSP falls in that
  3. i personally think is a very bad excuse, while i can see the resource tree pic being simplyfied, most of the mechanics involved wont be very different of science unless science is too hard for players, then why is in?
  4. funny enough, science is derived from resources and in fact mechanically it works pretty much the same (go to X area, use part, get "resource science") but apparently this was fun, while doing the exact same for, say, oxidizer, was not
  5. yeah, lets ignore than he pretty much canceled it because he throw a tantrum for being called a hipster while he insulted people left and right and had a holy than you attitude yes, lets think about that for a bit and how much we want people who cant even take a small ounce of criticism in the industry
  6. which is why squad decided to cancel one reason humanity interest in exploring space
  7. Yes, which is part of the fuel feeding the fire It doesn't help than KSP isn't exactly optimization heaven either and i can only see multiplayer as a recipe for disaster (well, technically it already is)
  8. the same Max who didnt say anything about resources but "is in the backlog/roadmap/maybe"? and the "dev day/weekly" doesnt mention stuff like that
  9. unless i remember wrong, is not single player but career mode, which is a big difference, and it doesnt give a nice vibre after they quickly put "feature complete" in sandbox and went running to make career since they could very well do it again For what i have hear "big improvements of 0.23 optimization" is actually the 0.22 optimization they promised in the first place
  10. I am going to point out not with bad blood against you, than they dont add new planets because "the old planets are boring and there is nothing of interest on them" then they dont do anything with the old planets either, squad should stop all this trash of "LETS MAKE CAREER MODE! WOO WE ARE HALF WAY THERE! NOW LETS PLAN MULTIPLAYER WOOOHOOOO" and actually finish the already half made content than is already in game but they seem to want to ignore
  11. I fail to see how you can compare something than was announced a year ago and then canned because "too hard" with something than we were told for a long time than "its not planned and isnt going to be" only for squad to do a whole 180º and jam in it but then again, i have see the route squad and the fanbase has taken, a year ago the whole mention of DLC was a storm of criticism, now people are actually defending it
  12. This is not the impresion i am getting since they announced DLC and the shift of the game went from "semi realistic space game with a sense of humor" to "spore but with physics too complicated for the new target audience of 8 years olds" and specially now than multiplayer is actually planned, i honestly dont see how squad is not making the same mistakes as EA
  13. I honestly can't say i didn't see it coming after a whole year with absolute no info about resources, and if anything, it worries me how career mode is going to be with the whole "no, a new player should be able to finish the game in one go" mentality squad seems to have this last year
  14. Honestly, is there any reason for why we won't be able to use the whole volumen of the tank? Realism sounds like a trash excuse when the game already ignores realism in many fronts and it feels like Squad just added the barebones feature and called it a day while the mod does more and better
  15. "starting building the house with the roof" is a saying about starting with end stuff isn't a good idea, you weren't suppose to take it literally.
  16. Which is the problem, instead of fixing and finishing the stuff half implemented, they decide to jump into career mode. It doesn't give me the feeling than Squad knows what they are doing or are just trying to pick more stuff than they are able too And i am sure there is some guy who wants Squad to add animations of the kebals taking a ****. Does that mean Squad sh Yes, because stuff like that should come down later in developement, you dont start a house with the roof, dont you? yes and money then was pushed because science comes first, except they didnt add the sample picking animations they had for "when science comes" from some reason. But hey, this new background when recruiting it was so worth it Well, yes, plane art pass will be pointless without aerodynamic fix, they idea is than they remake plane and aerodynamic parts when the aerodynamic fix comes, so remake them fix something more than just looking better Yeah, well, i dont think the game will survive a lot longer without the extra ram support at this rate, specially with that mentality of "JUST GET MODS TO FIX IT!"
  17. What gameplay reasons are there to make parts useless?
  18. They didn't, the problem comes from the part connection being one single joint, specially notable in tall rockets, forcing you to relay in struts, SAS and wide rockets. Really? So you dont see control surfaces and winglets creating lift from nothing? or how a giang cube will fly better than if you put connes because it depends of the mass instead of the form? You find this to be perfect and without need of fix?
  19. Well, they can go ahead and do stuff like fix wooble, the game supporting more than 4 GB ram, fixing the aerodynamics or a planeart pass instead of adding flags, some wheels, kerman recruitment, and a background for said kerman recruitment. As far as i have see over this year, Squad is adding more trash instead of fixing what they have in the plate already. Which is pretty counterproductive. And meanwhile users have to resort to mods to fix some of this stuff.
  20. As far as i know, Squad wants to add Girlbals in the future, so when it happens you may want to re-think your head canon
  21. Except Career mode was made for new players in the first place, so that "opinion" (i am sure its actually called an analogy but i could be wrong) will only work if NASA wanted people with zero experience in the first place. And OP complains are the old problem of the game explaining very little, if anything, about how the game mechanics work.
  22. Indeed, this should be stock instead of a mod.
  23. Your "BUT IS NOT FINISHED YEEEEEEET" point, while still true, seem counter productive, yes, is imcomplete which is exactly why people should give criticism to improve it. Being a "yes man" is not going to help the game or the developers at all. After all, isn't that part of the concept of releasing it in developement? to get criticism in the first place?
  24. We actually had tutorials since 0.17, they are very very very very basic and need a rework, which probably was easy and faster to do than making a new gamemode for a tutorial, only to end with said new gamemode not explaining anything, which kinda defeats its purpose. Even then, the game still lacks any explanation about how science works, and is a BIG part (if not the only part, at least right now) of career mode, i don't know how you see it, but i see it as bad design
  25. Even back in old versions you had people asking why they solid fuel booster didnt get fuel from a liquid fuel tank, so yes there are players who aren't even going to read part descriptions and get mad because they are bad at the game, but is really a good idea try to appeal to them? No, which is one of the reasons i dislike the techtree, because it was made as a tutorial for new players instead of Squad making and actual tutorial (i have see some veteran players confused about the techtree because there was no info, so we had to experiment the experiments to get how exactly works) or said new players reading some guides
