  1. I'm hurt by that... See how that works? This whole "hurt is decided by the receiver" has become a huge problem in society. I'm not going to walk around on egg-shells because something I say might offend someone. There is a level of personal responsibility on both sides there. The "receiver" has a responsibility to not project their own insecurities and sensitivities onto other peoples' words. You have to consider intent. If people CHOOSE to be hurt by word that were not intended to hurt them, well, that's their problem. This very thing is causing a ridiculous breakdown in communication everywhere. And, I believe I said I would shut-up about this, as this is a KSP thread, not a social commentary thread.... Zipping the lips now. Man, I have a runaway mouth....
  2. I don't think it affects anyone negatively, and I haven't seen anyone say anything like that. Like I said, it was a knee-jerk reaction on my part to some of the frustrations I have with the combo of hyper-PC-mindedness and global citizenship. I was never trying to say it shouldn't have been changed, I was just triggered by the word "offensive". I AM in my own way, fairly ridiculous. I can't even image how much work it is to create something that is multi-language and get it so that nothing translates badly...
  3. I agree with you. I was more taking issue with the "obscenity" comment, as the word translation is not really an obscenity, rather more of a "would you really name a part THAT?" sort of thing. Really, if you think about it, this game has been "international" all along, and yeah, needs to be sensitive to everyone. And as far as: I don't really see anyone saying they are upset with the change, I certainly am not upset. It was more a knee-jerk reaction to the idea of being offended by a word that is not intended to be offensive and mistakenly pasting a different meaning onto it. More of a comment on the fact that being a global citizen also requires people to have a bit of common sense and not not project your things onto other things outside your own culture where it doesn't really fit. Not really a KSP thing... So, probably having annoyed enough folks with my un-edited brain-to-mouth connection, I will stop talking about this. Sorry if I annoyed anyone besides myself
  4. How flexible is your neck? Just saying, how far you can turn your head IS limited. Of course, I'm saying this without knowing what the limits are in first-person, as I have not tried it myself. Professional devil's advocate here. Which is why things should be taken for their meaning in the language they were uttered. People are ridiculous. Furthermore, my understanding is that the translation to "certain" languages would be "whore", which while distasteful maybe, certainly is not an obscenity. I do get that Squad would want to fix that for PR reasons. See "professional devil's advocate" comment...
  5. Thank you. I'll quit being scared then, lol
  6. So, wheels are supposedly fixed? So why, oh why, when in the VAB, do you see the trucks driving around and skidding sideways, rather than turning? I'm scared to put wheels on anything for fear of the old problem of them skidding across the terrain indefinitely with no way to stop as soon as they load. Are the wheels actually fixed? And if so, then why don't the VAB vehicles act properly?
