  1. maybe a launchpad with a longer runway. KSC has an optimal position to reach LKO . yes, the dessert looks good. i think about this suggestion: good idea. but not much priority...
  2. you only have a small thime to do the circularisation burn on your target planet. so you need, for a short time a good twr. the rest of the time, ion-engines are good-enough... Or you plan a long way to break... (have fun with the calc and waiting...)
  3. how much time do you have? XD without joking: use LFO engines, you need the TWR to do the circularisation burn...
  4. I already had my tracking-station upgradet... ( need the nav-points...)
  5. A stock rocket called scout. Built with 28 of the finest parts, its root part is probeCoreOcto. A Simple sattelit, with a thermomether, and a barometer, and 2 dual-use antennas. Enough dv left to go into higher orbits. The most of the legwork do Solid-Rocket-boosters. the only thing you have to do is, seperate the stages and do a circularice-burn. The whole thing is nearly self-driving, the SRB go empty -> the Center of mass go higher -> the rocket do his gravity turn on his own… not includet the mechjeb part. (its only for to show the dv of the rocket) Built in the VAB in KSP version 1.2.0. https://kerbalx.com/Sereneti/scout _____ the idea for that rocket came from https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scout_(rocket_family) i know, thats realy different, but its more helpfull to have a liquid-engine to change the orbit, then a orbit you cant change. The two Hammer-booster are needet, because i haven't a SRB with enough thrust ....
  6. i want to make a scout rocket (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scout_(rocket_family)) but the question is : how. the scout has SRB as main-engines, but with the difference that they hade an thrust-vectoring... :/
  7. because: KSP start as user: dont open KSP start as root: launch perfekt. is the last option. "If you need to start as root there's something else wrong." - thats my words, that cant be the solution... its a workaround, not a solution...
  8. Have you tried to start it as root? I know, I know : "Never start a gui -applikation as root!" but it looks like KSP need that...
  9. afaik: yes that would work. but maybee the the developer had changed that...
  10. Same problem here. "Fix" was : launch game as root. But that cant be the solution
  11. no, a Space shuttle is a three-stage vehicle: First stage - SRB; Second stage: Drop tank; third stage - the shutle itself.
  12. Yes. But in this way, Syntetic fuels are way better than biofuelss. We only need a way to create a large ammount of Electric energy. Like a fusion reaktor, Sahara-Projekt, ore similar things...
  13. There are a possible way to add momentum without Working mass*. Gravitional waves. You use the "whole universe" as working mass. (* without the fact that we dont have a methode to create gravitional waves)
  14. Technically: Once you have The Carbon/Hydrocarbon you go through the whole petroleum-three. the Question is not, if we can. - The answer is a simple "Technically yes." the question is simple: should we? : The downsides of the mass use of biofuell are big: Increasing prices for food. - not in the "first world" countries. in the third world countries. Monocultures, destroy the "black earth" and make a dessert . ----
  15. Yes. but: The falcon first stage can land. In KSP, if i want to increase the payload a little bit , and dont want to re-desing the whole rocket, i put some Bosters on the rocket. And then i have the same flight-path then before. (like : get the boosters back (on parachutes) - and then : get the [first-stage] engine back.)
  16. its good to have one satelite on a Keo-stationary orbit over the KSC. that is enough to reach nearly the half -site from Kerbin. ( a white point is over the top and down of kerbin) that make the whole thing a lot more easy. it avoides to have gaps in the LOS between the satelites and KSC.
  17. only on my curiosity: Why not use SRBs on the first stage? They are droped with parachutes and are reusable. Cheap dv/TWR... moar Payload with a little moar of money....
  18. A Complete mission to duna, perfekt. at least, the struckture of the re-entry vehicle was to weak...
  19. What do you want to do with that? Space-shuttles are realy hard. its a lot more easy to build a spaceplane...
  20. you dont need a keostatnionary orbit for that... its enough if one satelite see the two other satelites (same triangle with lower orbit) and one of this satelites see the KSC... Keostationari are good, if you have to aim with antennas, but thats not the case...
  21. 1) Aerocapture: Yes it is stress, butt you can use it to save dv..... 2) same on Mars... 3) same on Mars. Its more easy because Mars has already have an atmosphere outside. Not soo dense like earth atmosphere, but there is enough to use it as a air-recource. 4) yes, thats true, but less gravity do some negative efekts on the other hand... 5) low-earth orbit: in low earth orbit you have to re-boost the asteroids the whole time, because the (realy thin) atmosphere will break them about the years. 6) same on Mars, Mars has more recources avaiable than earth. 7) 6.... i think there are not so many differences. since there are water on Mars, there are less problems with the colonisation.
  22. The mass of the first stage are.... nearly .... not important. you can use cheap SRB ore cheap hybrid-rockets. the second stage has to be as light as possible. Buuut: you have to ignite the second stage, after the staging. ... you cann use a bigger "second stage" ignite it on earth, and add "some" booster....
  23. There are soo many plantes, with "cheaper" recources than earth have. Good reasons for a alien-race to conquer the earth are: 1) Religion. 2) Humans. 3) its a nice planet.... 4) We have chocolate... 5) We have coffee.... 6) We have research on AI/AGI .... (a hint to X...) 7) they want to save us from doing something stupid (like fire some nuklear-rockets; searching on AI/AGI) Oil: there are so many ways to syntetice it from CO2 and water, so its energetic cheaper to syntetice it , then to fly trough the space.
