  1. Cooked up my first working Firespitter engine! Definetly going to be experimenting with more things like making cockpits
  2. Version 2.2, "Quality Control" Cleaned up all models and fixed many issues with things like shading + bad model topology in general. Essentialy quality control The addon is now under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International License Tiny cleanup of stuff for you guys. Existing craft files should still work. Still a bit busy with other projects but nevertheless content updates will definetly come faster again, and in much higher quality. Now is definetly the time to vote in stuff you want to see in the poll since I'm back with development on this now.
  3. Hello, sorry for the *very* late response. Haven't touched KSP in awhile. If you'd like to still I can teach you!
  4. Well, it's been awhile. A really long while infact.

I'll probably start working on Firespitter Extended again. I've gained a lot of skill in 3D modeling over the year, and I've even learned a bit of code so who knows, I might do some more mods with code or something.

If people are still interested, I'll also get back to work on Skyer's Weapon Pack again, or I might make my own as a successor to his, albiet only focusing on WWII weapons mostly.

Feels good to be back :)

  5. My first flight was actually either me playing the first tutorial mission where you learned how to fly, or me using the Aries A3 in Sandbox mode. I was playing on 1.0.4
  6. For those who are wondering, this is still compatible with 1.9.x!
  7. Apologies for the long wait everyone! I will be coming back to this addon soon to update it for 1.9! I wont just do a recompile of the mod though. What I'm planning to do is recreate all the models to be a bit more realistic if I can find the reference pictures for them, and add a few previously requested weapons (e.g. the soviet FAB bomb series)
  8. Since I've recently installed KSP, of course as a result nostalgia kicked in and now I have newfound motivation for KSP (wow absolutley bananas leaving the community for only slightly more than a week and suddenly coming back i know)

Long story short, I'm pretty much back in operation :D

KSP drags one back in eventually, sometimes it just takes less time or more.

Yep. I think the only reason I left in the first place was because I haven't touched KSP in months so I forgot the charm of it :D

I realized leaving a bunch of mods to die because of me isn't the best option, because who knows when anyone else will pick the stuff up :)

But, glad I happened to reinstall KSP again yesterday or else I may have never turned back!

  9. Small update II I have been making a bunch of progress on stuff and I might actually come back to this mod. It usually won't be priority on my list but I may update every now and then. Luckily the update with struts and stuff was saved on my google drive so I can bring that update to the table once I get around to relearning stuff. So basically the mod is back! Updates won't be as fast though as I still have to focus on other projects.
  10. For those who haven't seen my mod thread and aren't aware of what I posted I'll explain here and go into a bit more detail. But, I think my time in KSP has come to an end. Some will know me as Murican_Jeb (way back when, I don't know why I picked that name despite being Canadian) and some who haven't seen me before my name change will just know me as UltimateFlash15 (don't ask )

Turns out it's been a very very long time since I touched KSP. I used to play it almost every day for a few hours, and according to steam I have about 1470 hours of KSP gameplay on my belt. I've also been a user on the forum for almost 4 years now, which is amazing too. 4 years of history, of ups and downs and highs and lows and blah blah blah :)

But, back on topic. Since I've already established I've been here for a long time, I'll answer some questions that will most likely come up.

    Why are you leaving?

There isn't really any terrible reason why I'm leaving. It's not like "aaaaahhh grrrrr SQUAD is evil rahhhhh!!!!!" or "booo this game stinks!" as some might think.

Put simple, I'm kind of tired of KSP and I've moved on to other things in life, like a WW1 project I'm working on (yup, finally learning how to code! :D) KSP was awesome while I still played it, but now it's getting a bit old for me (not in a "this game is for kids" way, just the general gameplay) Like I mentioned before, I'm also caught up in a project and branching out to many different game(ish) developers like me :)

As for the forum, I might come back to check out stuff every once in awhile but I don't think I'll be saying much. If you happen to find me online though, feel free to send me a message if you wish! :D

What will happen to Skyer's weapons pack and Firespitter Extended?

I can't really speak for Skyer's weapons pack as it technically isn't under my ownership, although AFAIK @Skyer isn't here anymore.

As for Firespitter Extended, I guess its up to the first person that can get a working and maintained version up again. If I ever come back, it's up to you whether you want to give me ownership, maintain it yourself, collaborate, etc. However if I need to do anything to let you take ownership of it (like editing the license to a certain one) then please let me know so I can change it!

Despite the "death" of these mods, I'm glad the people who enjoyed it were still able to enjoy them while they lasted. Although they didn't get a super giant community, I'm happy for the people in it who appreciated the work :)

    Will you ever come back?

It's a possibility. There might be one day where I come back to KSP and suddenly want to return to the community again, but I don't think I'll be coming back anytime soon (or anytime later for that matter)

If I do ever come back, it'll most likely just be for the game. But I'd probably also return to the community then too.

Like I said, I may pop up here every once in awhile but it won't be very often.

I'm afraid this marks the end everyone. I've had a blast with KSP, both the game and the community. I'm glad for those that I have made happy and I apologize for the times I may have made others sad or angry. All of you are awesome. Keep flying!

    Farewell. :)

  11. Hello everyone. It's been quite awhile since I've touched this addon or KSP, since I've moved on to other projects to work on. I don't really have the motivation to work on this at the moment, and I don't think I'll be getting back to it anytime soon. Since it's under an MIT license, I think you should be free to take it and keep it alive yourself. If it requires permission, just ask me. I know it sucks since it's been so long, but right now I have to move on. My experience on the KSP forum has been wonderful while it lasted. Farewell everyone.
  12. One common fix is to turn down your terrain shaders to "medium" or turn down your render quality in the KSP settings. If that doesn't work and you have AMD drivers, follow the instructions below: Go to your KSP folder Open the file "Launcher.exe" Click on the settings icon (a white cog on a blue background) Go to the "Advanced" tab Click "Run in AMD compatability mode" Click apply/accept. Hopefully this can help you a little!
  13. For all my years playing KSP and other flight related games, I've always stuck to my mouse and keyboard. Funny thing is, a few weeks ago a package came in from the mail and it wasn't inside a cardboard box or anything, so I saw the box of the actual product. And lo and behold, it turns out my parents got me a joystick that I'll have to wait until Christmas to get. I'm pretty excited, since I've recently been wanting a proper joystick but I would only sometimes use my xbox controller if I was really bored that day. So to answer the question, it's pretty much gonna be mouse and keyboard, but hopefully I can get in the joystick game soon!
  14. The very very first time I've ever played KSP, I chose to play career mode. (pretty surprising, but I switched to sandbox soon after) With the limited amount of parts I had, I made the standard starter rocket with tiny fins, solid booster, pod, and parachute. I was ready. My fingers slowly pressed into my spacebar, and I watched as my booster and parachute both deployed at the same time, soon after crashing into the ground. Then I learned what staging was.
  15. The small head would look pretty human-like if the arms were shortened as well so they didn't hang over their legs
  16. Hello everyone, heres a quick concept. Since most of the people in the poll voted for structural stuff, this is what this is based off of Building aircraft like the DH.1/DH.2/F.E.2 is usually difficult due to the nature of their tail, so I've thought up of a quick solution. The sections similar to the part circled in red (the horizontal bars) would be regular parts in which you'd be able to do all the regular stuff like offsetting, rotating, etc. The sections similar to the part circled in blue (the vertical struts) would be struts, so they would be able to fit the bars no matter what. I can also probably bring the bracing wires back, so essentially this would be a slight revival and cleanup of old Firespitter struts. What do you guys think of this? Make sure to tell me your thoughts on it!
  17. 8/10 either a text to speech on a research paper or some narrator in a wildlife show I am human because I can do 1 + 1, unlike robots that would need to focus more energy on walking than doing math. See, the trick is each time you add one value to another value, it makes a bigger value respective to the numbers! That means 1 + 1 = 2!
  18. The only crimes I've done are my terrible BDA memes (i guess you could say its a war crime ahahaha)
