There is a bit of a story to this one... I\'m a laser technician, and I work for a company that supplies industrial and scientific lasers, as well as laser pointers. Some guy had bought a laser pointer, and in the order notes box he put 'can you please draw a snake on the box.' We didn\'t catch the note until after his order had shipped, so we mailed him some snake stickers the following day. When he received the stickers along with an apology letter from the company president. He thought this was great, and subsequently posted a picture to reddit, which made the front page that afternoon. Somebody e-mailed us about it, and the whole company saw the reddit post. We decided to include free stickers with every order that mentioned reddit (there were many) along with rage face stickers and even laser-engraved boxes. Over the following few days, I kept checking reddit to see if any more of our handiwork was being submitted. While searching for the word 'laser' I found a submission on the /r/kerbalspaceprogram subreddit about how a guy had deployed a laser reflector on the Mun. I was intrigued, so I clicked it, and saw it was some kind of game. I looked at the subreddit, saw a few of the submissions and screenshots, and checked out the website. The rest is history. tl;dr I saw it on reddit.

Dang man. Three people is a hard rescue - you need to make at least two trips! Minmus is easier to land on, in my experience. Just harder to get to.

Thank you! Honestly I wasn\'t sure if I wanted the landing to be a success or a failure. I settled on failure because that seems to be the road less traveled in these sorts of videos. That said, do you think the crash is too silly looking in the context of the rest of the video? It was the least absurd of about 20 attempts...

You guys almost cried at the end? Wow, I didn\'t realize the video had that much of an impact! I\'m glad it managed to tug on your heartstrings. And you better believe there will be a sequel. I never leave a kerbal behind!

On the menu screen I regularly see something (either a kerbal or just a helmet) come flying in from the right side of the screen way in the background, bounce off the Mun, and go flying back out on the left side.

Well, sure, why not. Here I am at a comic-con I\'m the Ghostbuster, not Chell.

I know. Frankly I\'m pretty sure 0.16 is going to break ship designs like this anyways thanks to the re-scale. I knew it wouldn\'t last forever, so I figured I\'d go for one last shot at insanity before insane things become impossible things. Surprisingly, it didn\'t lag TOO much. Some of my previous designs brought the game to a grinding halt but I stayed above 5-10 fps most of the time with this one.

I\'ve spent the better part of three days trying to build the tallest rocket that I could possibly make using only stock parts - the caveat being that it needs to actually fly to orbit - at minimum. The result, is the Leviathan XX. View the image gallery of it\'s maiden flight here.

You\'re supposed to measure all the way to touchdown/splashdown. Part of the challenge is opening the parachute at the very last possible moment.
