  1. It looks like Unity is changing up their licensing plans. Anyone have any more information and is this going to effect KSP2’s development?
  2. I know I'm late, but I only just saw the dev chat on the way to work today. I just wanted to say, I suggested something like this to Dakota not long ago, and while I'm not sure it was my advice that led to this video, I'm really happy to see it. It was informative, showed some new material, and let us get an inside look into what the dev was thinking and how they were approaching the problem at hand. I thoroughly enjoyed it and hope we'll get to see more things like this in the future!
  3. Im on the side of pineapple. I do want to hear his response to this though!
  4. Were you modding before KSP? What made you want to mod KSP? How’d you know what in the game you wanted to mod? If I wanted to get started with modding, what route would you suggest I go down? Also thank you Nertea for all the hard work you’ve done on KSP.
  5. Just started a new campaign and this reminded me of something thats been really frustrating me. Anyone know how to translate the camera in the vab independently of the parts placed? In Ksp1 I could move my camera up and then drag the rocket up to the height I wanted it at, but now I have to move the root part up to the top of my screen then right click it to move my camera up. Even more so if I’m building a larger sized vehicle. I FIGURED IT OUT GUYS! Lol just hold your mouse wheel in and move your mouse up and down. Ugh that’s been bothering me so much. What about focusing the camera on a different part on my rocket? And is there a way to preview extended engine bells in the VAB? I want to see the length of my vacuum engine in full before I consider putting on things like legs on a lander.
  6. I know the others have said different, but I can read the left one easier.
  7. Ya’ll are on a roll. Thanks for this! Hopefully we’ll be able to access these in game soon and then we’ll be really cookin’
  8. I'm trying KSP2 again after these last two hotfixes. Maybe I'll make it to and from the Mun in one piece for once >.>
  9. The only right answer. I was really hoping to finally get to play the game I bought for 70 bucks, but due to the introduction of the lovely aero glitch within the latest patch, it looks like I'll be putting KSP2 on hold. Again. Maybe next month. We'll see.
  10. What in the what?! I kinda wanna test this for myself. Could be fun
  11. I am actually getting excited about this game again. It's been some time.. I hope we keep getting dev posts like these and that the new bug tracking thing works well for everyone.
  12. Such a great update. Thank you to @Nate Simpson and the rest of the KSP team for getting a wrangle on all those nasty bugs and continuing to make great content. The future is looking brighter every day :D
  13. 2/3 times I attempted to sperate a labradoodle from my first stage with an appropriately sized decoupler, the second stage ended up glued to the first anyway. The interstage fairings would come off and the sound would play as if it worked, but I would not be able to separate my labradoodle from the decoupler and it's following first stage booster. No amount of spinning or thrusting of the Lab was able to force a separation. Not sure if it's a bug or not, but manual saves also keep getting overwritten by autosaves.
  14. I can't wait to fly through the new clouds! The fact they're stock makes me really happy. The future looks bright and beautiful for KSP!
  15. I love how heartfelt and compassionate this dev blog was! And how funny this was Its nice to meet you Jim, and thank you for working on KSP!
  16. How did I not see this on the Announcements? Maybe I missed it?... Anyway, Welcome!! Hope you learn a lot here and while you're working on the best game ever
  17. This makes a lot of sense! Thanks for the detailed explanation. So in the context of the original topic, it's important to define not only what "rules" the game mode HAS to have to function (The Immutable ones), but also the one's that make it fun (The dynamic ones)? Fun is a relative term though... What one person might view as a definitive staple in creative mode could be seen as something negative or unnecessary to another. I don't think it's possible to have a serious discussion about what dynamic rules should be in place before the immutable ones have 100% been agreed upon first. What do you think?
  18. This part keeps confusing my brain. I had to read it like 20 times, but I understand
  19. Considering you’re referring to Creative mode, then the intentions were to creatively solve the astrodynamic problems (Explore Kerbol System) presented to the player without restrictions. The problem arises when we try to separate what makes KSP a sandbox game in addition to all of its other designations. It’s a sandbox game and a flight simulator with elements of RPGs with respect to the Kerbals themselves and the stories we make for them. Removing the latter two designations leaves us on the ground without Kerbals doing what? Using the tools, toys, and resources available in the VAB to make all manner of contraptions and utilizing the game’s physics simulator to play with them. This is what I was trying to boil it all down to.
  20. Give me a game you define as a non sandbox game and I will break down how it is by your definition. Because I’m impatient and I’m going to bed soon, I’ll just be blunt. Your definition is a logical fallacy. Composition/Division: You assumed that one part of something has to be applied to all, or other, parts of it; or that the whole must apply to its parts. Often when something is true for the part it does also apply to the whole, or vice versa, but the crucial difference is whether there exists good evidence to show that this is the case. Because we observe consistencies in things, our thinking can become biased so that we presume consistency to exist where it does not. Example: Daniel was a precocious child and had a liking for logic. He reasoned that atoms are invisible, and that he was made of atoms and therefore invisible too. Unfortunately, despite his thinky skills, he lost the game of hide and go seek.
