  1. It does not look like Environmental Visual Enhancements has been updated yet, so none of the cloud packs should be updated at this point. It still might work if you use the version designed for 1.4.x, but no guarantees.
  2. Does your CPU throttle while you are playing? My laptop will occasionally throttle the CPU back to about .78ghz, which makes the game almost unplayable. You should be able to check this under the performance tab in task manager. It seems like all of the specs on your new laptop are similar to or better than your old one. Is your new laptop actually new? Or has it been previously used in some way? You also might want to check and see if you have any CPU intensive background tasks running.
  3. I usually try to get some point of my trajectory within the moon's SOI to somewhat line up with the target orbit, so I will be at least moving in somewhat the right direction in the right place, then do a few corrections once I make orbit. If you set your map view camera focus to the target body you can see your trajectory inside of its SOI, and can correct it well before you arrive.
  4. I started working on my duna colonization plans. First, I launched a mothership from my minimus base. It is heavily inspired by something I saw on reddit a while ago, but I don't remember where. Then I landed my first kerbals on Duna, then realized that the ISRU plant on their plane would overheat, so I had to land my cargo shuttle on duna as well, because it has the KIS items that I need to fix the radiators. Once the drills started working, I realized that they landed in a place with almost no ore, and would not be able to refuel in time for the mothership to arrive. The cargo shuttle is needed to bring down the base components from orbit. Sunrises on Duna look amazing though. Because the duna shuttles won't be able to refuel in time, I decided to launch a separate lander with a bunch of drills to speed up the mining process. Because this lander will take a much shorter, but more expensive, trajectory to duna than the mothership, I gave it a nuclear powered magnetoplasmadynamic transfer stage (because it sounds cool). This stage will take the lander to duna, then return to Kerbin to pick up other payloads.
  5. When you press F9 instead of F5 and revert to an ancient quicksave
  6. Fair enough. I actually like this explanation a lot. It still annoys me that none of the stock science experiments will transfer for 100% science value though.
  7. When your dreams have lag from having a part count that is too high.
  8. I started playing in career mode a few months ago, and for the most part, I really like the science system. In sandbox mode, the game sometimes felt like there was nothing to do, there was no incentive to land on other planets, or send probes to places. However, now I need to send probes and landers places to run experiments. My main complaint with the science system is with the experiment transmission. It bothers me that the barometer, thermometer, seismic sensor, and gravity sensor don't give the same science value when they are transmitted, compared to when they are recovered. They are all digital sensors, and their real life equivalents all operate perfectly fine remotely. I would love to hear other people's opinions on this.
  9. Also if you want, mechjeb has a launch autopilot that implements the Surveyor launch guidance algorithm. It pitches over to about 10 degrees shortly after launch, then holds there until prograde catches up, then follows prograde until the rocket is mostly out of the atmosphere. From there, the Surveyor algorithm takes over, and flies the rocket basically horizontally until it reaches orbit. I have had great success using this with RL-10 powered upper stages. When I flew a similar path manually I was also able to make orbit; however, it was not as accurate. I think mechjeb does almost what is described on the RSS-RO wiki, but with more math to hit the target orbit more accurately.
  10. Have you seen Scott Manley's video? He does a fairly good job of explaining things. Basically you wait for the right time, then burn at the right place. Figuring those two out is the complicated part. I use kerbal alarm clock to tell me when the transfer windows are, and then a bit of trial and error to get the exact burn. There are also tools like transfer window planner that can help you figure out how and were to burn. Mechjeb can also automatically execute transfers for you if you want. Also, I think this post should be in the Gameplay Questions and Tutorials section, not technical support. (feel free to correct me if I am wrong about this)
  11. I finished my Minmus surface outpost and my Minmus orbital station
  12. Someone might have already asked this, but what happens if I am mostly through the stock tech tree, and I install this mod? Do I lose a bunch, or all of my already unlocked parts? And would ships with those parts on them stop existing?
  13. My oldest screenshot from KSP is of this plane: If I remember right, it was supposed to be a supersonic passenger plane. I remember being very confused as to why it did not work. Now, I just find it amusing that I thought an aircraft with those wings was the right way to break the speed of sound.
  14. I prefer building a rover and shoving all the modules into place. The rover was specifically designed to have a low center of gravity (hence the RAPIERS), so I could accelerate fairly aggressively on minimus and not flip the rover. Once I got the rover design nailed down, the base was fairly simple to assemble.
  15. That rover shot was especially fun to get
  16. A couple shots of a space station I made a while ago orbiting the Mun And an ancient station around kerbin. I was going to finish it, but I never stay in one save long enough to make progress
  17. I found the output_log file if that helps https://drive.google.com/file/d/1XwxE2bW9IiYCpQ_6oZZGbAP8NQWP04RC/view?usp=sharing
  18. When I installed FMRS on ksp 1.3.1, it freezes, and sometimes crashes KSP during loading, right after the cofig files finish. I think I installed it correctly, and when I remove FMRS this problem does not happen. I have a lot of other mods installed, so it could be a conflict with one of those.
  19. I launched a NTR transfer stage for an Duna mission Launch Booster separation Fairing separation The transfer stage in orbit awaiting something to transfer Sorry, I can't get imgur albums to work, so there was a lot of pictures.
