  1. Either we find a way to colonize planets or making orbital colonies, or we're going to have an overcrowded world
  2. I'm testing my newest design of superheavy kerbin-mun ore carrier. Successfully reached mun orbit with enough fuel to make it to the surface, mine, relaunch and return, but failed during touchdown on mun surface since apparently the engine breaks during landing because of sheer mass of my contraptions. Well, time to go back to a drawing board
  3. That's what I'm thinking. Personally, it's still surprising many people consider TItan as the potential fuel mining site for earth in the future
  4. Mining methane from Titan (Saturn's moon). I mean, sure there's a lot of methane and hydrocarbon lakes which makes it a potential moon to be colonized and mined for fuels. But considering the distance from the earth, was it really worth for a mining operation to basically establish a mining site on titan, mine the methane, refine it as fuel, and transport it back to earth? Cassini-Huygens mission took almost seven years to reach Saturn flyby, and it's a one-way trip. Considering the time it takes between sending the mining operation to the arrival of fuel from Titan, was it really worth all the effort? (Assuming we are able to establish a colony on Titan) Replies are appreciated
  5. Installing new mods, planning to make a heavy cargo plane for sending stuff to mun
  6. Where can I get it? I have several design that cannot be completed since the offset limit is always preventing me to do it
  7. Testing the replica of ka50 black shark (successful) Testing the replica of mi8 hip (failed, crashed. A lot) Back to SPH
  8. The title says it all. What's your most useful stuff that allows you to think various possibilities in building stuff in KSP? For me, it was small nosecones. It's basically allows me to place engines, intakes or whatever I want to attach on any part with a small attachment point. Especially handy when building airplanes and trying to balance it What about you?
  9. I had to admit, you guys are amazing to be able to resolve the problem in a wise and mature way. This is a fine example how to resolve conflict. That's why I love this community, they face the problem in a calm and calculated manner like the 'steely eyed missile men' on NASA instead of going rage all day on the forum. Hazardish, you are true man. Bravo guys! Keep up the good work!
  10. My avatar is Ars sisters from Date a Live series. They are both AI (Artificial Intelligence) from an airborne mothership Fraxinus. I love their design and personality. Plus, I can make a lot of cool abbreviation from the word ARS that's related to space program: ARS: Advanced Reconnaisance Satellite ARS: Ascent Reaction Systems ARS: All-purpose Reusable Spacecraft ARS: Advanced Relay Satellite ARS:Advanced rocket systems ARS: Absurdly Robust (or reliable) Spacecraft And of course... ARS: Absolute Rocket Science! etc.
  11. I'm thinking several: Ace Kombat (basically ace combat with kerbals, but with space fighters fighting at space against dunatians) Kall of Kerbal: Kerbol Warfare (a conflict of interplanetary colonies of kerbals escalated into a full scale space war where jeb is the ace pilot of kerbin who leads the last remaining ship from kerbin after it's destroyed by dunatians) Joolshine (our kerbol has been died out, we need the power of kraken to send a ship piloted by Danny kerman to detonate a stellar bomb inside the jool to transform it into a star (and accomplishing Danny's dream of 'defeating' jool)) That's my idea. Any comments is appreciated
  12. I've just watched Matt's video last night, and honestly, I'm not particularly surprised. Especially when I saw the VTOL uses rapiers as the main thrusters, I knew that this is pretty much absurdly implausible (my attempt at making SSTO Matt Lowne's style plummet into the ocean instead of going into orbit (and I'm using far more rapiers (18 of them, not counting other engines like 4 whiplash and 10 modded engines) and it's not even VTOL) . I've been playing KSP for a long time and my recent 'honest' (aka unmodded and no cheating) accomplishment is just landing a probe on duna (and that's after a miscalculation on minmus trajectory). But I'm happy with that (obviously, with mods, I can go all the way to eelo) Personally, I don't mind cheating in KSP or using modded parts (mainly for testing contraptions), it's all for fun anyway. But to see a famous youtuber like hazardish doing something like this is quite sad. It's ok to post your video about your accomplishments in KSP, no matter how outlandish it is. It's fine if you cheat or mod the game, but when you post it to public you had to clearly say that you modded/cheat the game instead of saying it's stock. This could mislead new players trying to replicate your effort legitimately using stock parts without any hope of succeeding I hope this could be a lesson for him. Personally, I hope he's changed after this, into a better self that most of us recognize in the past. Sure, KSP is a single player game, its ok to cheat, even Danny2462 and Scott Manley did it, but they clearly said that they deliberately using it, not to fake a video and post it, then claiming it's stock. It's ok to post such a video as long as you admit what did you do to make it possible by listing mod/cheats used. Hope this could be a lesson for us to make this community better than before
  13. Today, I'm working on full relay network in KSP, and also testing my unmanned SSTO "progress", for it's capability to deploy 3 relay satellites in a single launch. While on the other hand, perfecting my mun SSTO to be able to 'airdrop' large rover on the mun
  14. Hey I think u have a point there. I'm used to send a very small SSTO in KSP (with only 1 crew) by simply accelerating upwards (it uses advanced ramjet engines). once sufficient velocity is attained (aka, the apoapsis is higher than 70km kerbin atmosphere limit) I simply cut off the engine (while still being inside the atmosphere) and let the SSTO go by itself leaving the atmosphere with it's engine turned off
  15. Ah starship troopers, one of the movies that I watched when I was a child (and ruin my childhood (I'm still not used for gory scene back then)). While it was a good film, sometimes I'd like to point out that the idea to exclusively rely on infantry to fight alien bugs in their alien planet without any air, armor or artillery support (and said infantry generally only armed with assault rifles, launchers and grenades. nothing more, no machineguns, sniper rifles are rare (only 1 appearance in first film, and it's used for mercy kill instead of killing bugs) and the launcher is only tactical nukes which they can't use without ducking behind cover (seriously, does anyone not having an idea to bring regular rocket laucher?) is just plain stupid. Also if I may add (from the first film anyway) how the heck klendathu, the alien homeworld that's completely desert have any oxygen? unless there's some explanation about natural autonomous process to replenish the planet's oxygen supply, I'm calling that absurd
  16. Well, as far as my movies experience goes, here is my pet peeves: 1. Literally every superhero movies is wrong. I'm fine about superhero genre, but what I hate, is when they try to be scientific by technobabbling about the powers in the story. Literally every technobabble about superhero powers is not even close to making sense 2. Related to 'catch someone mid-fall to save them from falling without breaking their bones or outright killing the victim', in any superhero with super strength, lifting something very heavy (remember that scene in superman where he prevent a plane from falling by holding on it's nose?) if he really apply enough force to lift or halt something very heavy at such a small area (their hands) they might as well just crushed the object due to object's own weight being pitted against such a huge force over a such small area 3. Hollywood teaches you that, as long as you don't touch lava, molten metal, acid, etc. You will be fine. No flashpoint or dangerous fumes at all, even if u stand very close to them 4. Someone throw a frag grenade, but the explosion is very PYROTECHNIC (and if I may add, every time someone throw a frag grenade in movies, the victim of that grenade is always shown died because that grenade's explosion, and rarely because of being hit by shrapnel of that frag grenade 5. Pick any space themed movies, and every time they depict it on screen is always WRONG 6.Every time there's a bomb squad's scene of 'red or blue wire?', it's just a total nonsense. Who the heck in real world making a bomb to be obvious to be defused, and always follow red or blue wire? A true bomb maker will make the cables in same color. And rarely, we never see a bomb scene with anti handling device such as mercury switch Honestly, those are some of my pet peeves regarding to movie's cliches these days. This is also the reason why I'm enjoying anime more than film, Bcs in anime, at least u can understand that its totally for fun (and avoiding classic movies cliches)
  17. Well, my main question is basically how to send something out there undetected. It doesn't matter if it's detected after it deploys, but the main issue is how to send there undetected. So far, smuggling it as something innocent is my best answer, just like @Tex_NL said
  18. Ah, I see. Thanks for the answer:) That reminds me... is it possible to hide the payload inside the multistage fairing? Like the one in KSP. So it's like I'm launching the weather satellite, but there's a spy satellite hidden inside the multistage fairing. After the fairing deploys and the weather satellite is decoupled from it, the TRUE payload is deployed shortly after (so basically it's 2 satellite in 1 fairing, but 1 is hidden) is this possible?
