  1. I was making a Duna Lander and during testing I noticed that the parachutes didn't deploy early enough. This led to me eventually adjusting the minimum pressure to ".01" as I had staged the chutes, the staging icon indicated it was safe, and the chutes did not deploy until immediately after I adjusted the pressure. After landing and reverting to VAB, I tried to adjust the min press to .01 and it bottomed out at .02.  I launched the lander and while on the pad, I was able to adjust the min press down to ".01" again.

I don't  know if its a feature or a bug. I just feel it's weird to be able to adjust the pressure to the value below the lowest value allowed in the VAB

    Currently I have:
    -Module Flight Integrator 1.2.10.0

-Parallax with Stock Planet Textures 1.3.0

    -MechJeb 2 2.12.3.0

    -Module Manager 4.2.1

    -Kopernicus Planetary System Modifier 1.12.1-59

    - scatterer, Scatterer Default Config, and Scatterer Sunflare  3:v0.0772

All running on  KSP 1.12.2.3167 with :

    Making History 1.12.1

    Breaking Ground 1.7.1

the dentist would get their dental mirror out and actually look at what was wrong with just the mk1 eyeball.

For things like cavities just simply looking at the tooth is enough.  Obviously with x-rays you can see through the gums and such but I’m not a dentist so I can’t say how much it’s worth.

My kids dentist always asks if I want x-rays or not, it's clearly not obligatory to say yes.

That’s been my experience as well.

  3. It seems like the error is due to something involving RAM and/or a paging file from what a second or two of googling revealed. Among other pages, a post on the Escape From Tarkov Reddit thread recommended to increase the paging file size.

Following these steps may alleviate the error:

    1. Workaround

      1. To work around this issue, manually configure the size of the page file. To do this, follow these steps:

      2. Press the Windows logo key + the Pause/Break key to open System Properties.

      3. Select Advanced system settings and then select Settings in the Performance section on the Advanced tab.

      4. Select the Advanced tab, and then select Change in the Virtual memory section.

      5. Clear the Automatically manage paging file size for all drives check box.

      6. Select Custom size, and then set the "Initial size" and "Maximum size" values for the paging file. We recommend that you set the initial size to 1.5 times the amount of RAM in the system.

      7. Select OK to apply the settings, and then restart the system. If you continue to receive "out-of-memory" error messages, increase the "initial size" of the page file

Throw a cigarette into the ocean and watch the creation of a water ocean and oxygen atmosphere in a pyrolysis chain reaction.

Is there a good way to find out how much water and oxygen it would liberate?

  5. Every Mars rover I can think of used solid and inflexible metal wheels. Cars here on earth use inflatable rubber tires.
I assume one of the reasons why metal wheels are used on the rover is because those don’t pop. Are there any other advantages to the wheels used?

Is there a difference in performance between a solid wheel and an inflatable wheel when traveling on Martian or Lunar regolith? What about earth sand?

Ahh ok. A character from an post-edited extended universe to an existing franchise that I could only ever know if I subscribed to and paid for a service created for the specific purpose of gating access to that content. Ok, got it.

Alternatively you could have just watched Star Wars The Clone Wars Tv show  and/or the movie. I don’t know about the movie but when new episodes aired they were usually on at 7:00pm cst on Cartoon Network. Would have been around 2012. I don’t know if it still is but a couple of years ago the entire show was on Netflix too.

Often aliens are just placeholders for current or past human cultures anyway.

I am not saying it's wrong, just that whether one wants to use placeholder for a human culture ir not, hopefully they are aware that they could get by just as easily or even easier from a worldbuilding perspective by just using humans in the first place.

It’s my understanding that the Romulans from Star Trek were a stand in for communists. Scary and mysterious at first but not so different from humans.

They certainly could be replaced by humans and keep all their nonphysical traits however the show’s nuances and ability to talk about such heated and controversial topics would be in jeopardy. I don’t feel that the ability to simply replace an alien race with humans is a good measure for wether or not the alien race should be part of a fictional universe.

Article translated using google translate for those wondering “

    Asma El Desouki
Lieutenant-General Osama Rabie, head of the Suez Canal Authority, said that the delinquent vessel Evergiven was officially seized on Monday, denying the canal's commitment to pay any compensation to the ships affected by the crisis.

The head of the channel confirmed that what was published by Al-Shorouk yesterday evening regarding the issuance of a precautionary order from the Ismailia Economic Court to seize the ship.

Rabei added that the investigations into the delinquency of the Panamanian ship are expected to be completed by next Thursday, while negotiations will continue even after this date.

Rabei stated, in a telephone interview for the "ninth" program, presented by Youssef Al-Husseini on the "Egyptian TV" channel, on Monday evening, that the Suez Canal was severely affected by the crisis of the delinquent ship, commenting: "We do not have a mistake."

He stated that the company that owns the delinquent ship details the required sums as compensation for the damage inflicted on the Suez Canal as a result of the accident, explaining that the company details 90% of the required amount: “They don’t want to pay anything,” he said.

He explained that if the negotiations were successful and the required compensation was obtained, new equipment would be purchased, despite the fact that the channel already imports equipment without the need for this amount, according to the directives of President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi.”

  9. After some quick reading, It’s my understanding that the precursor of vitamin d in the human body is only converted to vitamin d after being exposed to  UVB radiation.

Does this happen in a dedicated cell or organelle? How comparable is the process photosynthesis?

Obviously a human cannot sustain themselves with UVB radiation and water.

  10. With both the EmDrive and the LemDrive, we have achieved a measurement accuracy that is below the photon pressure. That is, even if one of these concepts worked, it would be more effective simply to use a laser beam as a drive.”

My understanding of that quote is that the accuracy of their measurements was greater than the photon pressure generated by the Em drive and since they detected no significant force above that, if the EM drive did actually provide thrust, it is so small a laser would provide more force. Is that correct?
