  1. Okay, in the text they said it would be 4 from the get go... they changed it probably after they made the art or the artist just didn´t read that section again.
  2. First, thank you for that kitbash but i have to say that IIRC the ETS Pegasus has only 4 RL-10´s, at first the RL-10 A-4 and later a further upgraded variant (That also replaced the two outer engines of the descent stage / cargo landers for their Artemis-Missions), probably what´s the B-2 version in our real Timeline., they didn´t clarify what the exact version-declaration for that replacement was but they spoke of an further extended nozzle, so it´s either a B-Veriant of some kind or a further upgrade of the A-Series that we don´t have, so for me i will just use the B-2. (Edit: It´s probably one of the RL-10 A-4-N Variants.. i forgot about them and they would fit perfectly, so BDB has even that upgrade included. The multiple variants of that the RL-10 alone are a reason to love this mod.) As much as i like that timeline and it´s high level of detailed descriptions in some areas i really miss clarifications in some areas, especially as they closed towards an end. I would have loved a clearer desciption of the technology (especially engines) used in their Delta 4000 / 5000, same for the Artemis-Missions. Is it so complicated to just say what engine and engine-version you are using? instead of: And the engines were replaced by a newer version with a longer nozzle... just write if it´s a B-2 or just invent a new version that fit´s into the exiting naming scheme if you are unable to find a version that fit´s your needs. ETS is brilliant in many ways, but describing launchers and upper stages in depth isn´t one of them..... how ironic if i think about how many great LV´s they brought into existence.
  3. Yeah i remember now that they came in but i think i haven´t used them yet because i had to reinstall KSP multiple times since then and i had to start new save´s (and 1-2 Phases when i didn´t played KSP at all because of my University-activities) ..... i just haden´t have that level of technology yet, thanks for reminding me to them
  4. YES, i like it never thought that this really could happen: Nuclear engines for BDB, thank you Fit´s nicely for some crewed interplanetary missions i plan in a few weeks in my twischt / Let´s Play Playthrew
  5. Fantastic mod That´s a great addition to KSP, so: No more looking again and again into the forum-sites of all my planet mods to look up those stats (if they even exist there), now i can just use the planetarium / tracking station. Thank you
  6. Yeah, i can only say the same. Astronautix is like a lot of wikipedia-sites: A nice start if you are looking for real Sources or Keywords for the search in other databases, but NOT a good source itself. For example: I tried to use it to verify the real upper stage configurations for the Atlas III and and the engine subvariants of the R7/ Soyuz-Family... and that was just a nightmare / didn´t went well in comparison with other sources (Thanks Google for having a working russian translator) (I looked for the thrust-ratios between them to make better use of the Tantares-Parts. For example, i came to this throttle-settings for the original Soyuz-Launcher: Core 85%, Booster 90% Blok-I RD-0110 100%, so my launchers still have all the same efficiency but they work as close as possible in comparison to their counterparts.) Edit: If someone else is into flying at least some Soyuz-Launchers and the Protons with the "right" throttle settings, sent me a message and i can sent you what i have. Tantares is a nice mod, yeah and i use that launchers and the Soyuz-Spacecrafts a lot, but it just hasn´t had this large team behind it that BDB has now. I really really miss there something like the great variation of the RL-10´s we have here.
  7. Thank you for the fast answer And that really wasn´t meant to push you, it was just nice to know Now it´s: All Systems are "Go" for the Saturn-Family. Thanks Yeah, an it even is written in the part description ingame that you DON`T have to use the OWS-Parts as a Root-Part itself. Good idea to do that. Part Descriptions are such an important thing to do and BDB really uses that feature.
  8. Yes please. That´s a perfect addition for my ongoing long term streaming world. I have (together with a lot of other mods) Tantares and BDB on my world a i will use the RL and ETS Apollos a lot and i will use them often in joint flight´s with the soviets. And you give us the perfect Docking-Adapter, both for Apollo-Soyuz and as a nice fitting addition for Spacelab / a lot of other stations i plan to built. And @CobaltWolf I would like to ask if there was made any decision regarding the B9-Part Switch integration for the J-2´s? (and Perhaps other engines that don´t have them yet?) will that come and would there defenitely be a craft-break with the introduction? Yes, i know: Using the Dev-Branch means: Be Prepared for Craft-File-Breaks, but i just looooove the new parts.... they can give my twitch series just a much much better Style when i get to Apollo. But for the moment i have stoped to develop parts of my "Story" that would need the J-2-Variants / Every Saturn Except the Saturn I / Juno V. And i justwould like to know: Is it better to wait out that transition to B9 and just play out the "Russian" Side of my story first, or is it safe to use the J-2´s / Engines that probably get updatet too.
  9. Absolutely, for example: In case of the Delta-family the part switch is a real blessing to quickly change between LV-Variants / Generations. Even if the part switches can´t be used to make every single variant into only one "parent-part" i think that 3 or 4 parts are still more convenient than 7 or 8. And i can see that this revamp is close to be done and i am in fact using BDB in it´s Dev-Version in a german languaged LP / twitch series. Just because this mod is the best one out there in my eyes and it just doesn´t stop to get even greater.
  10. @jimmymcgoochie Welcome back and a happy new year to you Nice Chapter again and you let really do good work to let the "action-train" never stop I like i good old nice emergency evacuation from an airport before a rampaging mass storms it.... and i don´t think that rogue going pilot isn´t so far off the reality.
  11. Guys, i know many of you would like to have it but 1. it brings nothing to get cobalt and the rest of the team annoyed so heavy they loose the will to work on this in such a communicative way they are ( Thank´s for giving us the chance to give you sooo much input for every of the dev-cycles) and 2. There are more than enough options in BDB to build lifters that are just even more mighty than a C-8 would have been. Even before the ongoing update-cycle. You have something that you can´t bring into orbit on a Saturn V or an INT-21? Just strap on some 1208´s or AJ260´s or even some Saturn IC / MB-cores as Sideboosters on it. I really don´t see a need for an even heavier lifter in this mod because we have a lot of options for just that NOW. And we are getting a lot more of them in that said upgrade. The Saturn I-D-mount alone has the potential to give around 10-25 tons of transfer mass to given targets alone. So please: Stop asking for a C-8, the Novas or other such things. If you really want one, than you can kitbash one with procedural tanks and tweakscale. Yes: there won´t be such nice textures and details as in this mod here, but it´s doable. Sorry for that little rant. It´s just that i have enough from reading that C-8 and Nova questions every two or three pages again. And i am only a normal user following this threat since just before page 500 or so i think. Oh and: A late congrats to page 900. Seems like this could become the first forum page i know of getting into a FOUR-diggit-Page-count soon. We can do that guys and girls
  12. Thanks for the warning. Nearly made exactly that mistake. Literally: The next thing i would have done while playing next time would have been my standard science collection... including an EVA.
  13. I know that ATL, i am waiting for it´s next part. And i know that Shelter. It´s so simple, i think it could be done with 1 or 2 Part Switches.... to kill the engine-mount and staging, and upgrade the capacity for freight and / or Life Support. And yes: I know: Kerbalism-support has to be delivered by them. But it´s possible that i will (again) try to write some simple configs after the major update has been released. I have tried that a while ago, but only managed to crap the fuel and EC-capacity´s. I haven´t found out how i can prevent that i a patch. But i likely look into that again after the update... expecially because i am interested in bringing the Aardvarks into full use in their "basic" form, without bolting on Life support cannisters and/ or send special ships up there to restock Spacelab.
  14. I am a fan of the LM Apollo but yes, you are right: The largest bunch of really new parts can wait a little longer for the sake of polishing the revamps you have now towards a release-state. And yes: you guys have gone a looong way away from "basic" Thank you and i am thinking that the next dev-cicle will not be as long as the last ones have been.... and that probably checks out with your mentioned conversion plans for KSP 2 Yeah i am hyped for KSP 2, it´s new engine and performance etc. And yeah: I like the idea to have so many future tech, but: First: i was and i still am a larger fan of the old Apollo-era Tech and it´s derivatives (IRL-Proposals AND Alt-history), so i hope they still represent it in a nice way in that game and second: I am really gratefull that you guys would like to try a conversion of this mod to KSP 2. This will be a HUGE Upgrade. Thank you, all of the contributers.
  15. Thanks for that update and i think i really have to speed up my science grind in my active game to fly a Psyche-mission
  16. @Interplanet Janet Thank you for reviving this. I played the original version and i had a lot of fun with it but i had to decide on stopping to use it for safety reasons. Soooo..... let´s send some ion propelled probes to some expolanets again
  17. "Nice" amount too, i get to 22-24 at the moment.... yes i use planet packs and yes i use a lot of mods. It´s around 18 after the loading. Nice one I like it
  18. Had the same thought a while ago Modded KSP was one of the reasons for upgrading my PC so heavy this summer that the upgrade became more of a complete new system xD @Cobaltwolf: Your modding can become costly Thank you
  19. I don´t think that there will be another additional SM length from the flyby because the ETS Block IV / Block V SM seems to be a little longer than Block III too.... and that´s already planned if i recall that right. That would fit nicely and would "only" need another texture tops. And please: add an option to insulate the S-II heavily... or even give us some power intense active cooling.... yeah: I want to recreate the Voyage mars mission, at least the transfer and orbital hardware. The landing stage from that one is cool but that would be toooo crazy to make. So that would need another, probably independent launched, lander from my side.
  20. What the hell?! Which helo should have captured that heavy sun of a b**** ?! If i wouldn´t knew that this idea came over 50 years ago into existence i would say: That guy has really played tooo much KSP.... Sorry for the bad language, but that´s the only thing i though while reading that.
  21. Wow, that´s a looong way from there to here. Thank you all for this progress and that nearly complete replica of the american space program that was AND could have been. Thank you I am with you for about 3 years or so i think. and i don´t plan to go away soon This is beautiful. Happy birthday
