  1. Right now I'm planning an invasion of Duna for when the next launch window opens, although Jool is also expected to swing around, and I've gotten the hang of gravity insertions with the innermost moon.
  2. Ohai, I've come about the Kerbal universe mostly by accident, as I like to have streams in the background while coding, and one of the streamers I like to watch, RocketPCGaming, gave me KSP. Besides being a really cool and amazing space game, it has elements of a puzzle game, if you've seen the simple flash game "Fantastic Contraption", then you'll know what I mean.. Lately I've been coding a mesh generator I developed eight years ago, to make curvispatial organic spaceships. Now I can make the fibonacci distribution of points for smooth and efficient surfaces, as well as generate in-program all the textures that a mesh needs as well, normal, height, color, even Kerbal Biome pics, with interesting ways to algorithmically define separate biomes that make sense with the surface information. Because everything is calculated in a three dimensional vector space, it can do some very interesting things, like realistic craters that are perfectly shaped no matter the latitude they generate. Also this is becoming an extremely useful tool to make KSP objects with. I'm currently at a point in development where I can start to make content in KSP format with it, at least with the png and dds maps, Everything under the Spawnfluence text was generated in my program. As fun as coding algorithms is, sometimes it's good to jump into KSP and put things into space, and the game is a good challenge for a new player like me.
  3. Many thanks to RocketPCGaming for getting me KSP, the first shipment of pineapples has arrived: all the docking ports on the refueling station does a number on my framerate, especially when docking them together These experiments have taught me a lot about how KSP works, and i'm a lot more efficient with parts than a few weeks ago, enjoy
  4. FIX REPORT: The persistent file is corrupting the play-save screen delete the persistent file and replace it with a backup persistent file (choose the earliest one) I also suggest deleting any ships from the world that you suspect may have anything to do with it (as the arrow of time can potentially bring the save file back into the corrupted place, not knowing what causes the corruption) at least it's back up and running, thanks for helping.
  5. I'll check for special characters in the save files, I try not to use even spaces in filenames, as they usually cause directives or parsing errors and try to avoid them.
  6. This exact thing started to happen to me last night, and it persists when I restart KSP and my computer. In the start screen (with the floating Val kerbal over Kerbin), clicking on the resume saved button opens an empty area that when you click on it, it clicks the buttons in the menu behind it, so it is acting like the overlay is not there. I launch KSP from the KSP shortcut icon on the desktop, but this problem happens both from here and from running steam and starting it from the steam window. I haven't played with modded content at all yet, so the only changes to the KSP folder has been from saving ships and an increasing number of crash reports. Also there is no other instance of KSP other than the demo, which is in a different spot and has not been run since starting KSP proper.
