  1. Hi, I've played KSP before at a friends and got it for myself now with 1.11. Now I know, in the VAB, you got the option to toggle crossfeed on and off by right-clicking on the decoupler. But now there's no such option even though it says it can but is turned off by default. My aim is to used side decouplers as drop tanks, like Ive done in the past, but now i cant making my ship designs VERY limited and, imo, less fun to play. Is this a bug or deleted feature? If so, can i rollback to a previous ver that can do that? I'm running no mods so its a new clean install. Any help would be great, thanks.
  2. Claim the Mun! So since I've landed on the Mun, I've jad nothing but bad luck on EVERY flight I've done. Lost about K$1 mil on this two part, 11 contract setup I'm running. So now that I've finally beat this bohemeth I came up with, imo, a nice little challenge. CHALLENGE: Since I just started playing KSP IDK if this has been done befrore, but didnt see anything like this. If there is, maybe just del this thread. * Start a new stock career using no cheats or help. Basic info mods (dv and things like that) can be used. * Least amount of funds used is main focus here. (The basis of the rankings, for ease I thought about only listing top 10. 10-1 pts) * Least amount of contracts used/accepted. (0 contracts = 10pts, 10 contracts = 0pts) * Least amount of building upgrades. (-1pts per building) * Least amount of sci used.(5sci = -0.5pts. Less = rounded up) * "Wild card" rank for those that want to use starts.( Diff leader board) * Hard mode is just landing on Duna. (Don't even know if this is worth it. Maybe drop?) So that's the basic idea, any tweaks/thoughts/blabla would be nice. So there is a max amount of points you can earn here, but because the main point id the funds, ties will refer there. Every K$ counts!
  3. I haven't done this challenge, but my buddy came up with a nice early sollution by using an Ant on the side of the ship and I furthered the thought by designing an "RCS" Ant block.
  4. Aw man, my last few days have been depressing! Cuz Bob didnt have enough fuel to test the poodle on escape from Mun, I had to use it again to take 5 tourists to Mun, do a resq, test some other parts AND pick up Bob! FAILFAILFAIL!!! Was bussy matching orbits for the resq when I noticed the terrain was REALLY close and thought I'd have the clearance. One huge cover up later and I still had to do all that plus another resq and land a tourist plus test a rover wheel in orbit?!? In total 10 missions in one flight! Now I've perfectly ballanced the torque on it, but having a scince jr and two loaded service bays arranged in a triangle ontop of a hitchhicker seems to do funny stuff in the upper atmosphere. Realy just want to get this flight done! Btw, how do I meet sat reqiurments? The 'argument of...' how? What?? Really want to get into the sat bussiness. Need it for my BigBrother project.
  5. Totally agree. I don't like using mods for career. but I got KER as soon as I heard of it! Purely for dV and simmilar info. Also finally gave in and got IR cuz it looks cool (sandbox only?). Tab shows in career, but no parts.
  6. Nice, plane and like the sound of that bearing! Have you tried more blades? Diff kind of wings/alerons? Playing with the pitch? Maybe a few more RW on nose? Havent d/l the craft, just spitballing.
  7. Awesome, thanks! Got the poodle trough a contract. So use two stacks of 6 thumpers(?) as a to-orbit part. Oh, btw if I put shoots on bottom stage, and its still traveling slow enough when detatched, can I recover it? Must I put a probe on it for that?
  8. I just started playing KSP a month ago, so still learning alot. Today I ran into some probs. 1st mission to the Mun I came a bti short on the fuel. Had to blast up, EVA, take the science and jetpack into stable orbit. You know, your ave day, James Bond stuff. Sigh, atleast I always aim to make flights as cheap as I can. Finnished off latest bunch of orbit tourists. made a droned 10 seater that bearly stayed cool enough not to exploed on reentry! Now I have to build my Mun tourist runner to take one more, 00-Bob in orbit. But as I like to stack missions for profit gain (to fund my BigBrother project) I also have a Mun orbit pick-up. So now I must build a probed 7-seater, bassed off the Poodle that must do two pick-ups. Any ideas? Like I said, new so only poodle, ant, MPL and 1st solars. Also I use hitchhicker based designs to fit poodle req and more kerbals. Bussy getting used to building for multiples for colonization asap. P.S. I have enough for docking port jnr and wanted to know if this was enough to start making multi part space stations and sats?
  9. Nice craft, is that a dual-bearing setup? So what I noticed is that you should trim your pitch while F12 is on so you can see when you've trimmed all the drag off the blades at max throttle.
  10. Hello all, Im RuFLaSH from TerraNova Tech. Im new to KSP (about a month) and love the engineering aspect of it! I was looking for a way to make rotors and found S. Manly's vid on 'the 1st stock copter' and new what to do. With my love for electronics I got to work on replicating the bearing design and made a very robust wheels design that can take alot of punishment! Not big into mods in my career (but use KER tho), but was keen on playing around with IR. And low and behold, the washer!!! R&D jumped right on it and whiped up a stunning (imo) prototype. I present to you the first look at my test drone; The 'Sunflower' <iframe width="480" height="360" src="http://s97.photobucket.com/user/PaPa_RaSTa/embed/slideshow/KSP"></iframe> Made a demo vid the shows how stable it is: This is just a quick intro for TerraNova Tech. I plan on using this motor on a veriaty of crafts. Also experimenting on using it as hubs (atm for wheels). Thanks.
