  1. This is a good pack. I'm having alot of fun making a 100% self sustaining base!
  2. Maybe control surfaces at the rear that unfurl? Between that and RCS attitude control that might just be enough.
  3. Looking forward to this. Always was a fan of that constellation video.
  4. Just wondering where I can find the rover wheels for this pack? Did they get taken down?
  5. Yeah, but for some reason even in sandbox, the SSTU tanks only go to 5m for me.
  6. Just wanted to double check something. In even my testing sandbox save, my fuel tanks can't exceed 5m, x5 F1 engines in a Saturn V engine mount seem to want 6.25m, as going down to 5m makes the engine bell mounts clip out the side. Also, I think having a 5m saturn V with the power of the F1 is a bit mad, seeing as even with my ISP mods which reduce ISP and thrust by 50% or so, my saturn V has a TWR of 1.8 on the pad, and I recall that the Saturn V had a TWR of like... 1.15 or something in real life. Damn thing crawls off the pad.
  7. It's a good thing I renamed my Kerbal space program directory "KerbalspaceprogramCURRENT" so I can continue on with 1.1.3, as I've got the game exactly the way I want it. All my parts, my ISP and thrust changes etc are intact. Some of the new porkjet parts are really really ugly, but I'm so spoiled by SSTU. On that subject, Shadowmage do you have plans to make an S1-B mount? You have the engine cluster setup already, but can't see an S1-B mount. Not a huge deal though. Something I was also wondering, Shadowmage... are you able to make the engine able to throttle down to nearly nothing, beyond what would normally flame out the engine? I have setup a thrust curve for my SRBs that throttles them down to just above the flameout range for a cleaner SRB cutoff with the candles still lit, but when you upscale beyond 1.875, sepatrons are needed around the base of the SRB to stop them overtaking the main launcher. Again, this isn't a huge issue, I'm just curious. On that subject, some screenshots: (click to make big and stuff)
  8. Going to have to try that. I can manually launch my shuttle with the Thunderstorm engines and SSTU SRB set to 50% gimbal but Mechjeb doesn't know what the hell to do with it.
  9. I have to ask, did the real shuttle not gimbal its engines until near srb cutoff?
  10. I was stress testing the welding docking ports, and I think these parts are one of those "do one, then save before doing more" type deals. I set up an ISS truss system which had 6 of the things. Got 3 of them done before the game crashed on the 4th. No documentation unfortunately, but hey. Wasn't noticing any problems at all with parts that had welded in place however.
  11. Okay so I like the solar arrays, and I really like that they are dual axis. That to me is a very important thing. Now, will you be having the truss be modular? Like, the ability to have a few types of truss that are used quite often by station builders such as habtech, hex truss? Or even the ability to get rid of the truss entirely, leaving just the solar array and its rotation system, so you can just pop it on anything? E: The welding docking ports seem to work as intended. Very nice!
  12. I do, and I'm a little annoyed. I started making my ISS/Freedom hybrid, and I got this far: (all made with shuttle besides the 'russian' style module and supply ship) Now I am sitting here, looking at the new lovely textures on these station parts that just showed up in the latest update and I want to start over!!
  13. Well, I can see it being awfully useful for making permanent space station modules. I'm going to stress test that right now. E: Shadowmage, as you appear to be some sort of wizard, have you considered the idea of wet workshops?
  14. Oh sweet, going to download that right now. Are those solar arrays dual axis?
  15. I tried that, but it didn't give me the ability to decouple the service module. I'll try doing it with a semi-procedural decoupler.
  16. Damn it Shadowmage, you show off these US modules after I've nearly finished my station? I'd say handholds would be good.
  17. Has anyone got any good SRB thrust curves to try? I need to set up one that tapers off at 200kn of thrust for a few seconds. Edit: Actually, is there a file somewhere that allows me to make new thrust curves that will stay forever? Edit2: NVM, found it! /SSTU/Data/Thrustcurves
  18. Yeah Pak, I used to do my shuttles with procedural B9 wings and many many parts welded together. The effect was good, and it looked decent, but now I don't need to. (notice the OMS and RCS systems. The RCS was a whole bunch of B9 linear RCS welded together) And then fastforward a year... [/ Much, much nicer.. and It all just works. I'm kind of sad in a way, because my shuttle was truly unique to me, but I can't argue with the quality of these parts.
  19. Yeah, this is the first time I've not even bothered to install Ven's stock revamp. I just have no reason to use anything other than SSTU..
  20. Of course, I realised now that there is infact tanks without the piping. The upper stage tanks.
  21. Yeah, I'd agree with Redparadize actually, the windows want to be smaller by at least half.
  22. Those look good Shadowmage, and they look like they'd fit in with CXAerospace & Habtech quite nicely. On the subject of the stubby eyes turned skywards Apollo CSM, if you're reluctant to make a single use part that uses a texture like that, how about as a compromise another semi-procedural tank that doesn't have the piping on the side? All in all, I can live with the true to life CSM, it is very nice.
