  1. So I have just finished the "dock two ship in Mun orbit" mission. And they were recovered individually. So far it runs fine, without issues - except the occasional control lock issue and Im still not sure if it is bug or my pusshing some button combination that enables some control mode without me knowing it even exists....
  2. Exactly. His tutorials are great and best way to start with the game. Better than any wiki, etc. He show and explains the basic in detailed and easy to understand way. After watching his tutorial you wont know everything about the game. But you will be able to play without problems.
  3. This may sound like a stupid question... but how to you start to the west as precisely as possible? I know that on PC you control your ship with keys wasd. So it is easy to press just one key and rotate you ship only around one axis. But on consoles the controls are mapped to the left analog stick. And it is basically imposible to turn to west without rotating the ship around second axis as well a little bit. Am I missing something?
  4. No no probe core. And it happened during my second launch (= escape atmosphere mission). I did not even go to orbit. So connection to Space Center should be completelly fine. As mantioned I could control the ship with cursor (luckily all I needed was to decouple and use parachute and pod positions itself retrograde by itself.) But it is annonying. It happens to me randomly and I have no idea what is causing it and how to avoid it. Basically in the default control scheme (where you can switch by L3 between cursor and radial) the cursor part is working 100% fine, but most of the controls in the radial gets locked out (you can access menu, go to map, swtich to cursor .But ship controls are down)
  5. So I played it for a while yesterday (the gme start know. So I dont know why it was crashing few days before) And just with my second launch I again encountered the control lock problem. Im really not sure if it is bug or if Im missing something (activating some mode by mistake by pushing some buttong combination). But here is my problem, that I encounter fromtime to time periodically: - I launch the rocket and fly fine for some time - I usually play with some menu item. (for example checking the mission status, notifications, fuel status,..) - And then suddentyl ship stops receiving inputs. I can not steer. I can not activate another stage by X. I cn not use circle to togge sas, etc. Basically the control scheme does not work. But I can switch to cursor mode and control the ship from there (select decoupler and decoupel from there. Show parachute properties and open it from there) I already noticed that such behaviour can happen in some cases - for example when you select time warp from radial manu, then slow down to 1x, but dont use circle button to deactiva time warp mode. Then controls dont work and it is easy to miss. But Im sure I was not in time warp mode. I had fuel, I had full battery. I was not in RCS mode. Staging was not locked. So i have no idea why this is happening. :-(
  6. please let me know the results, so I know if it is fixed :-D
  7. ok. Im really curious about this one. Becuase it was the moment I stopped playing :-/
  8. Just a question - have you got to the mission where you are asked to dock two ships? In the unpatched version, if you docked two ships, undocked them and then landed and recovered one of them, the recover function recovered both of them (even already undocked ship from orbit). Im still curious, if this is fixed? Because this is gamebreaking as soon as you want to use some spacestation on the orbit. Returning any vehicle that would doct with it would remove it from orbit too. :-/
  9. It is not. Some issues were fixed. But the main gamebreaking bugs (control locks, save locks, save corruption, un-docking issue) are still there. And some people (for example myself) can not even start the game at all. (I would not call that fixed). So they still have a lot work ahead of them before it is "fixed and working"
  10. At least you can start it. I have just PS4 (not pro). And after the last update the game crashes to the dashboard before it even starts loading to the main menu. The purpose of the hole certification process remains mystery...
  11. Wow. So I decided I will give the new version a go. And I can not even start it. I get the initial logo for approx 30 seconds (I believe it is not even the game starting. It is just the logo you get when recovering from suspend etc. - basically the one before the game load). Then the games crashes back to the dashboard. Way to fix your game!
  12. so we still need to wait for second patch and hopefully the game will be playable (=without gamebreaking bugs) then :-(
  13. So is the docking bug fixed? If you dock two ships. Then undock them. Land of of these and recover it, then both ships are recovered. Even the already undocked second ship, that should remain on orbit :-(
  14. Are there any news regarding the update? Two weeks ago it was "comming soon". I guess nobody know how "soon" should we expect it?
  15. Yes. It is a new port created as a new separated game. You can also delete the saves from the old versions. Enhanced edition is not a patch. These two versions are not connected in any way.
  16. This is nice and all. And we appreciate this. But... if the patch is so close to be released, you know the time frame fo the release. Is it tommorow? Next week? Week after that? Next month? If it is so close to be release you know what bugs are already fixed. And you know the bugs you are still working on and wont be fixed in this patch. After all the feedback and internal qa testing you know if there are still game breaking bugs left or if you are not aware of any of them anymore. Do you consider the game playable with this patch? Or are you aware of gamebreaking and savebreaking bugs and these will be fixed later? The main question is, why do you keep your customer in the dark? This is biggest complain on the forums. People understand this is new version, people understand you are working on it and it takes time. But nobody understands why it is so difficult to give some straight answers aboug the status of the game. At this point for the most pressing questoins - when and what will be fixed? You know it. At least partially. You know people are asking for it. But for some reason you decided to ignore it and just post "we are working on it and something will be fixed somewhen" and post it each month.
  17. My opinion - find the overlapping areas of topics covered by your school and by the KSP. My point is you will not be able to persuade them to teach some new topic. So if your school sclasses are not covering orbiting and delta-v, they wont see a advantage of this game. They will not create "Kerbal 101" semester for this game :-D So try to go via topics covered by school and think about how they can be ilustarted by the KSC engine. (weight vs mass, center of mass, center of lift,...). Maybe even matematics. When you plan the trips to moon, game ilustrates this graphically. But when you show this to the people, they may become more interested in "how to I calculate this by myself?" In such case this game may not teach how to do it, but answer the quest "why are we even learning this? How is this used in real life?" You should find as many existing school topics as possible that can be helped by this game and then I would probably discuss with teacher, before going to principal. (may be helpfull to have one or two teachers supporting your idea.)
  18. That is basically what Im saying. But lets not forget, that release date was announced really on the last moment. (not liek iwth the AAA titles where they anounce it 6 months in advance and then have to meet the deadline). So it was possible to move without real dealy. And Squad knew the reputation is on the line. (one rusher release is out) So I believe that if in decemebr they knew that January release = broken game, but february release = fixed and patched game, they would go for februray to release the working versions. But because they knew fixing the known bug will take longer, they forced to release the game anyway instead waiting another x month. And this makes me worry, that release the updates will not be fast and it may take another few months until the game is really working.
  19. Yes. External company ported the game. But: 1) Squad is still the company that ordered this port, tested the result and said it is OK to release in this state. 2) Blitz ported the game. But Squad provided the source code. It may be tricky to find out who is to blame. Considering two different developers (one experienced port developer without issues with other ported games) created two separated ports that resulted in very similar results, one may argue that actually source code is written poorly (and changing controls breaks whole game). In properly written game, changing the GUI should not change behaviour like "you can recover vessels from space now" "two ships are recovered together after undocking" "progress is ignored and revereted to old state". In these cases it is difficult to decide who to blame. By common sense I expect that contract to "port the game to consoles" does not include "also rewrite our poor coding please" 3) The communication!!! Mistakes can happen. Bugs can happen. But since summer 2016 console players are basically ignored. With no info what is going to happen. After broken game was relesed there were 6 months of total silence. Then there was info "going to be released early 2017". Then few months of total silence again and then periodic weekly empty info "we are working on it. For real now". Then the game was released. Broken again. And there is again no info. Only pr stuff like "we fixed something, and there will be patch somewhen". You can imagine why players are angry. If they said "Sorry, we nened another two years. Look forward for new versions in 2020" I believe they would save themself lots of hate on the forums. But if they again plan to ingore the customers and provide only default empty PR answers, customer wont be happy. Blitz did not created did port, but these lot they should take responsibility for. And at least comuunicate better.
  20. Unfortunatelly nothing in the weekly :-( "We are wroking on it and something will be fixed somewhen." But no real info what they managed to fix and when is the patch comming. Will it be this week? Month? Will the game be playable with this patch or is this fixing it partialy? Who knows... why should you tell your customer, right? I still remember No Mans Sky that was released in buggy state ... but it had 2-3 patches each week. (I believe they managed to release 13 patches in two months? )And you could see the game improving under your hands. That is a post-release support everybody should take example from. Mistakes happens. But there are still ways how to make customer happy. And there are ways how to make the situation worse... For some reason Squad is still taking the second path :-(
  21. Catfacezero: Im not sure from my head. But if you check the controls (from the panel on the right), there is a "reset trim" option with propper button combination. Personally Im really surprised that experienced console port developer created controls like they are. Basically random unintuitive combinations. Usually from buttons that you use to control the game anyway. So it is very easy to set something by mistake (for new players big problem when they set trim or lock staging before they even know there is such function". Or when you are in time warp mode and l1 slow time + is used for camera movememnt at the same time. This is not a bug, just poor design. And honestly most of these functions (lock staging, reset trim, acrivate RCS, swithc vessels...) could be done via one nice, intuitive, easy to understand radial menu mapped to one dedicated button. I just have no idea why it was not done this way.
  22. If I can give them some small advice regarding keeping community happy, I believe it would do wonders to just release even some "placebo" updates. If they release one or two updates each wekk and fix only small details, it would give them better repution than ignoring the community for another two months. :-D
  23. Swithc to cursor mode (L3) and click by square button on the Command pod. Just be carefull to not click when "crew hatch" pop up is shown. That will open different window.
  24. HebaruSan: That is basically what I ment. People blame FTE and Blitz for doing bad job. But considering both independednt ports led to similar bugs. And that at least Blitz is experienced port developer (they released many ports without issues), it just feels the source of the problem may be elsewhere. By common sense it just seems that original source code is maybe mess. And these developers take upon themself ungratefull job of porting something that needs much more work than what is usually needed to do normal port. (I mean porting the game should really not include modification of how the game logic behaves. You update controls, gui, graphic to run smoothly and take care of some technical stuff like certification, etc... But that should be basically it, right?)
  25. Considering how long the game has been tested and that these bugs are easy to find out, Im really afraid they were known bugs. And if fixing them would take 1 month, they would just pospone the release date to february. So Im little bit afraid, that fixing these bugs is not so easy. (the estimation to fix them is so long, that they rather released the game as it is). So it may take a while before the patch is out.
