  1. The truth is i have a station designed already, with all the modules fitting inside mk3 cargo bays, but i was hoping to use mk3 cargo bays as hangars for the station itself. I guess i will take your suggestion and use at least one shuttle with a "custom hangar" that can carry mk3 cargo bays. Back to the design board!
  2. Yes, supreme leader!! Just one question, can some of the modules be transported externally, or all of them must be inside cargo bays?
  3. STS 4 mission report: https://imgur.com/a/BF8Rq Craft file: https://kerbalx.com/Ozelui/Pulsar-shuttle-mk-1---M4-Can-you-rescue-me I'm having a lot of fun with this challenge, thanks for keeping it alive! About the solar pannels... they look cool, but you should see the whole thing at work before being impressed... For the short tech demo, advance the video to 3:40.
  4. Mission 3 report. https://imgur.com/a/xdUQx Craft file: https://kerbalx.com/Ozelui/Pulsar-shuttle-mk-1---M3-Can-you-see-me I had a couple of incidents, one involving Bill and the kraken, and another related to landing. I don't know if this qualifies for pilot or commander level, up to you, @michal.don
  5. My shuttle feels very small after seeing the "pocket" shuttles in the previous posts Nice job! Mission 2 report, satellite deployment and fuel pod recovery. BTW the fuel pod likes to desintegrate on landing... even if it's a very soft one. https://imgur.com/a/TqXRL Craft file: https://kerbalx.com/Ozelui/Pulsar-shuttle-mk-1---M2-Can-you-hear-me
  6. Actually, there was no payload on that report. I believed the first mission was just to reach orbit, and the fuel pod was part of the second mission, but i guess i misunderstood how the missions should be done. Fortunately i had the report for that flight ready https://imgur.com/a/cGosm Craft file: https://kerbalx.com/Ozelui/Pulsar-shuttle-mk-1---M1-Do-you-even-lift The shuttle is pretty much the same, with a bit more fuel in the external tanks, some boosters for take off and small modifications in the cargo bay to connect the cargo. Edit: The 15th image shows the fuel pod with the resource tab open.
  7. I wanted to give this challenge a try, but didn't find the moment... until today, so here's my first mission report: https://imgur.com/a/qSpkz Craft file: https://kerbalx.com/Ozelui/Pulsar-shuttle-mk-1---M1-Do-you-even-lift After finishing the flight, i decided to name the shuttle "Pulsar". I expect it to be able to complete several other missions without important changes. Waiting for the green light to start working on the second assignment. The mission was done on a clean install of the game, so no mods, but i wouldn't mind using some in the future, like rasterprop monitor for IVAs, or kerbal engineer for deltaV calculations.
  8. @Wanner364 The spice must flow! Awesome drawings man @Sorabh I'd love to see your interpretation of the seaplane, comparing different designs of the same ship is always interesting. A little dirty trick to keep the center of lift behind the center of mass, hide parts inside the fusselage. Lots of them ( see below ). @Castille7 that thread you posted is full of win... in the best kerbal style. No wonder you ran out of likes https://imgur.com/a/5ifjD Craft file: https://kerbalx.com/Ozelui/Dart-mk-1
  9. https://imgur.com/a/HeMKb Craft file: https://kerbalx.com/Ozelui/kraken-mk-1 @Wanner364 No, i didn't add a door yet. It shouldn't be too difficult to add one in the rear, but in the sides it could take some work. And the interior needs some serious cleaning before loading any cargo ( check the last image ) It took another 16 engines to make it fly, so it doesn't look exactly the same as your design, but i hope it's not too different. The 4 rockets on the bottom are needed to take off from water. BTW if you have a name for the craft i'd be happy to change it.
  10. It's still work in progress, it collapses the moment it's deployed and needs hundreds of struts... but hey, it exists https://imgur.com/a/3yh7E
  11. Craft file: https://kerbalx.com/Ozelui/Banzaiiiiiiiiiiii-mk-2 Just to give @no_intelligence 's BK-03 some company. I guess the person that gave the requeriments is not allowed to participate, but i wanted to build it just for fun. Maybe the problem to embed the album is related to the web browser? I had a similar problem a while ago, i was able to post the link but it didn't show as an embeded album or image. Aparently the issue solved itself: Simply copy the link and paste it in the post.
  12. Interesting. It looks to me like the "Fat fox" is using the MK 4 spaceplane system mod. I will try to build it later, but i have a question, is it intended to be a seaplane with the engines above the wings?
  13. Nice! The point of the save was to have a target there, not the specific target. Sorry for the inconvinience everyone. .
  14. Can you try it again? I remade the save, removed the mods from my ksp install and it loaded correctly. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B5vMXvb3LP7FN3o1VzlQaDdMeDQ/view?usp=sharing (the link has been updated in my previous post too)
  15. Uhm... I modified the craft to be stock and then saved the persistent file with just that craft. I will look into this problem as soon as i go home (i'm at work at the moment). As a workaround, the requeriments could be changed to crash into the ground and have the crew survive?
  16. Week 10 Safe kamikaze aircraft. After last week's nuclear attack the evil kerbals from the other continent became mad at us (why???). Not only did they sabotage our bomb supplies, but a spy stole our nuclear bomber too! We must destroy it before they reverse engineer the captured prototype and use it against us. We need a kamikaze aircraft (Gene Kerman says it's the only way) to destroy the prototype, landed in the old KSC, by crashing into it. But we also want the pilot(s) to survive, training new pilots takes a lot of snacks and we don't want to have to memorize the names of the new guys again. Requeriments: Weight: Max 25 tons. Speed: At least match 1 (360 m/s) to avoid interception. Range: To the old KSC. Special rules: The aircraft has to be piloted manually by at least a kerbal (no probe cores) & all crew must survive. Savegame with the target in the old KSC ( for KSP 1.3 ) : https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B5vMXvb3LP7FN3o1VzlQaDdMeDQ/view?usp=sharing
  17. @no_intelligence Thanks! There was no other possible positions to place the cargo bays because i wanted the aircraft to be a flying wing. Agreed, it's interesting how both designs have almost the same specs but so different shapes. Yes, i'd say it's very stable, the small surface parts around the engines are there to mask the engines exhausts... but also to keep the tail pointing in the right direction. The mk 1 was quite unstable with the CoM and CoL very close to each other, and those made all the difference. The most dangerous maneuver is to open the cargo bays if you are not flying in a straight line, it can end in a flat spin. If you close them again it's relatively easy to regain control and get out of the spin.
  18. https://kerbalx.com/Ozelui/Stratodorito-mk-2 It's all stock except for a small wing connector from the airplane plus mod that i didn't notice until it was uploaded to kerbalx.
  19. I just noticed the rule change to "without resources". My plane, while not posted yet, is under 20t with fuel too. I think i'm going to use the extra weight for an antenna and a ladder and then upload it.
  20. Narrow weight limits, it's going to be challenging I had a flying wing style bomber under construction, but without engines and part of the fusselage still missing it's already 43 tons... i will try to build a smaller version and see how it handles supersonic flight.
  21. Sounds like the depths of the sea are going to be populated soon... I plan to build a underwater base too, but it may take a while (not much free time and 0 experience with kerbal underwater things on my side)
  22. This. Relax and keep creating crazy flying contraptions while the week advances.
  23. * Shrugs * ok, then i will cheat it by using less and smaller engines... so more weight for LFO and more time to burn it (15 min) XD http://imgur.com/a/oHKwf
