  2. I mean the cross-section the mid of the ring had higher radius as outsides if you walk from mid to the outside it is like you walk upside a mountain. Sorry i did npt clarified as i mean the cross-section. Some of the ring ideas present a inverted TT to hold the atmosphere and provide stability for the walls, but your pictures look way more U. And this made me courious. But as U it will be stable without mass emchancement, but shrink the habitable zone more in the midband?

  5. As a point for the kolonial job diskussion. I think the "quartermasters" are supposed to do pilot logistics work without the pilot skill. But as workplaces strictly are defined as "need pilot" this don't work as supposed i think?

  10. As The Aziz insisted a fairing and added separator on the upperstage tank. You can inclose the engines on the way up and have the ability to stage. You have only to be sure not to clip the engines in the understage and to surface close the fairing on the upperstage.

  13. As a workaround you can make a copy of your ships in the save file. Go in save file directory and copy the ship files.
  14. Interesting casualty as i see happens here. Colnisaruon of Saturn as a energie providing source would become rentable if you integrate materiasyntesisers... pump energie in and get everything you need... but why colonize Saturn then and not buuld a dyson sphere or at least cloud?

  17. It is realy interesting way how this Diskussion is enveloping... But somehow i need to drip ine more pence in again. SQUAD is migrated to T2... and i think it give a additional statement. T2 works on many modable games and i think SQUAD intends to specify "modes are welcome". KSP is a great game in vanilla but like every game it have a status where you have to say. Stop till now we can go but every step farther will kill our rentability we have to eat something too. And thete is the point where the modes go a step farther. You will have better optics? Here is a mode. You like the MK2 design? Here is a modder who share yoir feelings. To say a game have to be played only in programmed way is as false as to say only moded version as developers didn't do that by them selfes. And as we seen it sometimes the ideas brought by modders come in stockgame too? Like ore? CommSat? Better wheels? Have we to erase all this additions because firstly they came throigh modes? As i see it it is not a fight but a synergie? And how far i go and how many details i personaly miss and try to include through modes is my personal decission! And we will be purely true, if i will cheat i only need to press Alt+F12. For cheating i don't really need any modes?
  18. Funny Outtake through mode combination... GPP and USI. GPP renames the Gaeleans to be more fitting and USI generates on start of a new Carrier 4x Veterans... I tried a new carrier start and get 1 pilot and 3 Engineers as Veteran Crew... all female... Have i to beginn a "Amazonian Building Program"? Now it is clear for me... kerbals and kerbelines are renamed Hulks and She-Hulks and as evrybody is one that does not concern anyone.... @topic for radiation to implement in game you need to define a occlusuon factor like for heat. If a object is clipping through it is fully exposed to negative aspects. And in the exampled tanks? Have we to build them clipping in each other to provide a radocclusion? Is the load necessery? Is ore or oxidizer better for prolonging the deflective ability? Is a through "vaporised" by radiation material generates heat abd i can get rid of it by radiators? And as linuxgurugamer mentioned there are many modes that gives concern to additional negative effects. The big problem vor Vanilla is you dont have abilitys to repair something insitu. Wheels, landing legs were mostly enabled due to the cracken physiks and not for a additional play element. For this aspect is only parachute repack ability to enable a reusability for atmosphere landings. As a tip for testing plausibilty i would insist, try a moded playthrough with "DangIt!" but without KIS/KAS or OSE and you will see how it will work?
  20. If you try to get a right answer you will mostly see two options. Vanilla brings you to think creative, look through forum and you will see many formidable inventions build only from stock parts. Helis, hinges, swingaable wings.... They are beautiful and show which people are here ingame and what they are able to build. Moders try on other hand the same abilitys through one model and program this ability in... or add new parts where the creativity comes through programming abilitys. But for me i use the mostly profane sight on it. Partcount. A vanilla hinge need 10 parts to work and i try to build one in vanilla. But if i will build a big spezialised station and need many flexible points there as example. I can build this in vanilla for x times partcount and wait for 30 min to load the vehicle... or i use a mode with the parts with the same functionality. For me time is the most needed ressource in my life.... And if you see that from this angle of sight. Nobody has the only truce because everyone had other preferencies. But you will see many people who are on the trail for the grail
  21. If you look pricesely in VAB/SPH (for Coreheat and XFer Rates) you will see that the small raffenerie module can't translate the heat it needs to run. This way you can tinker as much radiators as you will but it will overheat for sure! The only way to process ore permanently is the big rafinery, Drills other hand have preferencies for drilling on a body or asteroids. Big ones are better for planetary use as example.

  23. It is not only about the autor but the whole team gathered by RD to get all things cleared. He have many projects and many players with programming experience try to support him. It is no offense but as GitHub feature request there is a much bigger chance that one one of the team see it and decide to help. A question do never hurt a complaint tend to generate bad blood. And in actual situation with KSP1.4 dawning RD have no time to implement new options i think and stick in Unity changes for all his modes they all will be playable in the new version?
  24. ^^ "Miru mir" "peace for the world" (will mostly be translated as "Worldpeace") I personaly think "Nositel" have to be translated as "carrier" not only LV. As far as i remember they where planned in typical russian manner, get a hammer and a wire and you can use this thing in multiple functions, as LV or ICBM. Somewhere i read they would be used as suborbital payload Carriers for otherwise unsupportable or complicated otherwise missions like polar regions.
