  1. If that's what you think you should install low res textures (like 400x200). You will still see the mountains but framerate/loading times will be better.

Changing textures to high res ones is not about game changing, it's about eye candy and details.

I guesse, but forsome planets it's just not nacicary, like Eeloo... I install the 8k textures only because they have clouds in it and some textures pack make a HUGE difference from the deafult planets, that's an eye candy for me.

  2. Seriously? No difference at all? -.-

    Can you read this?

No Difference? Is that a joke? The difference is visible even on the lower res 4:3 screen on my graphics work station. Either way, Squad has to cater to lap heaters .. which their users think should run games but really heating laps is all they are good for, and we do not. We can push the limits of current modern day technology, Squad can not (given they want to sell this, and we quite literally don't).

Difference between 1px kerbin2 "hack" and without it can be especially seen in the upper left corner of the planet. Notice the mountain bump map being where clouds are. I like the smoother effect of having bumpmap disabled, since the planet texture already has shadows. This hack essentially smooths clouds

    Anyway, We can do graphical stuff that Squad can't do for good reasons. And if someone does not see a difference I am doubting their eye-sight. I can see the difference even in the thumbnails.... and really.. the difference between default and 8k res planet textures is even more drastic had I zoomed in closer ;

I see I made alot of people mad... Well the thing is I don't zoom that much in Kerbin, that is why I only use the clouds mod. I actully have a good eye sight and really, I don't see any difference... but again, everyone with thier own opinion.

Edit: And by difference I mean I see it's more HD, but it's not game changing thing. It's only good if you zoom in like hell.

  3. Now, I've only read about 50 pages, so forgive me if somebody has brought this up:

I think it'd be wise if we'd all respect the work that Squad has done graphically. 'Respect' is not the same thing as 'like' or 'unchangeable'. But perhaps some of us can cut down on the 'man, I'm glad I can take all the fugly out of my KSP!' mindsets.

The graphics-guys are not incompetent. Nor are they emotionless machines.

Maybe they love this development. Maybe they don't. Maybe they're ambivalent. Point is, don't forget them or belittle their work.

The thing is that Squad's textures are beautiful as they are, for instance I don't notice any difference with 8k and the defulte textures. People just love the feeling when they have something "HD" even if you don't see the difference.

  4. How about a Hi-Res EVA suit? Just a re-tex of the standard one, but hi-res. Is an 8k EVA suit possible?

I don't know but I think it's kinda pointless, because you can't really see the eva suit because the Kerbal's body is so small.

But it might just be a good idea.

  5. I don't know how to paint the helmet's glass, but the download link was at the bottom of my last post. Click it :)

Well, you can't, atleast your textures looks freaking awesome!

By the way for your Sol system, I think that to boost the number of downloads, you should stick to modding planets that have no oceans. Turning Duna into Mars is very relevant for instance, but even if Kerbin is quite similar to Earth in its characteristics, the terrestrial masses do not match (obviously), which will of course induce gameplay issues if you apply Earth textures to it, therefore it should be provided as a different mod just like the meme-system. I think that keeping planets with oceans as they are (or with improved textures and clouds when relevant), but turning other planets into their Solar System's counterparts (keeping in mind that it's better when custom textures color schemes match those of the ground) would be the best way to make the mod more popular, because it would be playable. Your Duna and Jool are quite nice for instance! Eeloo turned into Uranus or Nepture would be another example that I would be interested in!

That's just a suggestion, and most of all, just my opinion. Perhaps people will not think that way of course!

    Will do.

Edit: YEs! I got a great idea, I've masseged Sido and Spacex34, I want to combine our texture pack toghether! Hope they'll replay posivatly.

  6. I haven't recorded anything in a coupla weeks because some rather annoying medical stuff makes me feel like crap... but when I do start recording again I'll definitely be using this mod. It's a must have.

Cheers, hople you'll feel better, and I have one request from you in this video, if you can show one of my mods (which are the Sol System or the better Moho), because as I see recently everyone is doing spacex34 mod and readen's skybox only...

  7. Well, you still haven't any rage planet if I recall correctly, I guess red-Moho would be a good candidate. :) I liked your idea of forever alone Eeloo. :)

Lol forgot I already made it: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/showthread.php/44135-0-21-x-Universe-Replacer-v3-0?p=581617&viewfull=1#post581617

I give up on getting the Kerbal Textures, I can't open them at all... Can someone please upload a template, PLEEEEEEAAAAAASSSSSSEEEEEEE!!!!
