  1. Thank you for the elaborate answer, very interesting. With AVP removed the scene that previously has 25 FPS with lights is now at 40 FPS. Looks like those two are just too much at 3440 x 1440, haha.
  2. I'm only running with ~180, but I'm having huge issues with performance, startup times and things which stop working. I assume yours is running nicely. May I ask for a list of the mods you are using, @linuxgurugamer?

Some more testing in regards to the FPS issue in 3440 x 1440 (now on a RX 6800 !), @Gameslinx I'm not sure what setting it is, or whether all the graphical mods on top of Parallax are the cause for this, but as you rightly wrote some days ago, the vehicle lights are the final nail in the coffin for the FPS. So I played around with the pixel light count: PLC: 0 | FPS: 55 PLC: 1 | FPS: 50 PLC: 2 | FPS: 41 PLC: 3 | FPS: 34 PLC: 4 | FPS: 30 PLC: 5 | FPS: 25 PLC: 6 | FPS: 23 ... PLC: 64 | FPS: 21 At PLC 0 (equals lights off), I get 55 FPS with the GPU running at only 70-80%. So the FPS are CPU limited there. As soon as I add more pixel light counts the FPS quite quickly goes down the drain. Weirdly, beyond a PLC of 6 it doesn't seem to get any worse. Why is that?

  5. I always have trouble giving my ships proper and descriptive names, so I quite like this mod. But I don't like how you get random prefixes with the names. I would suggest the following, @linuxgurugamer: Add two buttoms to the UI: 1) select planet (Kerbin, Mun, etc.) or system (Mankind, Alliance, International - like above) 2) select ship type (as above) And only then generate the names. That way you don't get all those prefixes which are totally irrelevant to this vessel. And I also always forget what the current prefixes stand for, if I can't select them myself / see them written out.

Just some testing with the following settings on 3440 x 1440: System: Ryzen 5 5600x, AMD RX 6700 XT, 32 GB RAM, nvme SSD. 1) Base game with ~266 parts launch(pad) : 100 FPS 2) with AVP installed: ~100 FPS on launch - flying over water 55, then 46 above clouds | GPU @100% As soon as I fly east over the water, the FPS plummets immediately massively. Curiously, changing scatterer water from medium to integrated doesn't seem to make a difference. Integrated looks almost like the base game, it shouldn't drop to 55 FPS on a RX 6700 XT running at 100%, should it?
  7. Quoting myself a couple a months later, starting a fresh playthrough. Alas it seems the [FlowGraph]: Graph already contains item! - bug still remains with ScrapYard 2.2.10. And it's quite a massive spam of those messages : About 1.7 million [FlowGraph]: Graph already contains item! error messages during 10 minutes in this 175 MB large KSP.log , @zer0Kerbal. I might have to play without ScrapYard as of now, haha.
  8. After playing some more with Komplexity, I have to say, this mod might be only tiny, but it's such a massive improvement for the early- to mid-game career progression. The incremental upgrades are a great constraint for having a smoother progression in career. Instead of having unlimited part counts after the first upgrade, you now have to carefully chose which parts to bring, as the limits are quite tight. I'm always looking forward to getting the next incremental upgrade, so that I can finally bring 5 more solar panels and add another SRB to my design! (Instead of having essentially unlimited part counts in the base game) Without this tiny mod, the career lacks some serious progression. Well done!
  9. Thanks for taking the time to try and figure out the problem! 1)Reduced settings: max Tessellation from 64 down to 1 and set tessellateLighting = false. Yet, still only 25 FPS on the Mun with lights on. 2) same scene with lights on, but without Parallax = 60 FPS (RX 6700XT running only at ~60%) 3) like 1) max Tessellation from 64 down to 1 and set tessellateLighting = false with lights on, but now terrain shader quality to High instead of Ultra, like you suggested: ~50 FPS (turning lights off still gives only 50 FPS, but the GPU clocks down by 50% percent). Another note: Turning down terrain shader quality to High also gets rid of the massive ground clipping issue seen in the screenshot above.

  11. With 5 lights on the rover turned on: ~25 FPS. With 5 lights on the rover turned off: ~50 FPS (and the GPU only running at ~80%, so CPU limited then). Blimey, that's an insane difference.
  12. I will try that and report back! May I ask, what mods and graphic settings are you running personally aside from Parallax? Since you have a similar graphics card, that might help me compare.
  13. Thanks for the hint, but at least close to the surface, it doesn't seem to make much a difference. Tested a slightly darker scene on the Mun with ~40 FPS with Planetshine and the same ~40 FPS with Planetshine uninstalled (both times the GPU was running at max).
  14. I'm running at 3440x1440. These are my graphic settings: And here's an in-game screenshot with some MSI afterburner stats on top: Close up the GPU runs at full load and that's what's limiting the frames in this case. However, I also have most of the popular mods installed: Maybe some of these is interfering with Parallax and killing the FPS? Here's the KSP.log, in case that helps. This probably isn't entirely due to Parallax. I'm just trying to figure out why with a Ryzen 5 5600x, a RX 6700 XT, nvme SSD and 32 GB of RAM I am only running between 20-30 FPS on the surface of planets.
  15. Houston, we have a problem! The Mun is definitely not made out of cheese, but out of soft pudding! Parallax just looks gorgeous, but the non-working terrain displacement really messes with the immersion. Also: Holy hell, Parallax murders a RX 6700 XT! It barely produced 20 FPS from the screenshot above, while running at 99% full load.
  16. I'd love to see a contract pack for this, @zer0Kerbal! Instead of the standard and boring Test part X at location Y, you need to replace all part testing of the base game with a much more fun version: Kaboom part X at location Y
  17. I did design the fairing manually, but your solution is definitely much better. Does it only happen for this antenna or for other parts, too @Firebird989 ?
  18. It only took 5 years of waiting and buying a RX 6700XT graphics card for 700 €, but I can finally play KSP with this mod at ~60 FPS . (Cursed 3440x1440 resolution!)
  19. This might not be the right thread, but has anyone encountered problems with procedural fairings thinking retracted antennas are extended? Here without antenna: Then after adding a single stock C2 HG-5 antenna there are bounding box issues: The weird thing is that the antenna is not extended when launching, but procedural fairings seems to think it is: I'm running a modded install, but this is a stock antenna, so mods shouldn't be the issue, right? Any idea what's causing this? How can I resolve this issue?
  20. I had the same problem as OP. I can confirm that saving and reloading fixed it and the contract was successfully completed. Edit: I just realized that OP was me nearly two years ago .
  21. I haven't seen this mentioned before in this thread, but could it be possible that completing contracts in KRASH breaks them for the main game, @linuxgurugamer? I have had issues with parts and altitudes in contracts not being recognized and was trying to narrow it down, when this session I noticed something: Constructed vessel in editor, started KRASH and fulfilled a contract(in this case: achieved altitude 290.000 - 300.000), stopped simulation, went back to the editor, built vessel in KCT, launched it, but suddenly the very same contract seems broken (i.d. altitude 290.000 - 300.000 is not being recognized anymore). Maybe my log helps to narrow down that issue. Has anyone ever reported something like this before?

  24. I did some further testing and uninstalled ScrapYard: No problem for hours. Reinstalled ScrapYard again and the second time I build something, KSP crashes again with the same log as posted above. Does anyone have a similar problem?
