  1. So I got Infernal Robotics from CurseForge (99% sure I got it for 1.3), and all of the parts show up in my tech tree and the VAB. I can attach the parts to my crafts, but right clicking on them only gives me my TweakScale options and nothing else. Right clicking on them after the craft is launched does nothing, so they are pretty much just structural parts right now. Am I missing an install of something, or is it possible that I have the wrong version? Thank you for any help.
  2. I've never used nukes. Whenever I put one on, my KER dv calculator tells me I will get better TWR and more dv if I use a Poodle or a Terrier, which take up less space on the rocket. What is the purpose of nukes if they are outclassed by these other vacuum engines? Edit 1: My question has been answered, ignore my stupidity.
  3. ...when you're doing your physics homework and the assignment is about orbits and you use your KSP knowledge to get things right instead of doing the formulas...
  4. Any suggestions for getting a small probe up to a few million times c? XD
  5. Slam_Jones and Laie, thank you for your advice. I'll have to try some of that.
  6. I launched my first Duna lander into LKO to await its transfer window in about 1.5 years. Then I decided that I should fill that time with something useful, so I designed and launched a habitation module to dock to Kyson Station, orbiting about 150K km above Kerbin. I then discovered that having an RCS tug on one end of the module produces a lot of torque while translating, and while a large reaction wheel in the module itself compensates for this, it still wobbles and is incredibly difficult to line up. Does anyone have tips for making tugs and maneuvering large space station modules? Nevertheless, I eventually got it docked and had enough fuel left in the tug to actually land it at Kerbin with the engine. After this, I decided to check on my Far Out Probe that I just kind of threw towards Dres. As I switched to it, I couldn't see any thing, so I zoomed in a bit. All of a sudden an Oscar-B fuel tank is filling half of my screen and the crafts velocity is a few million times the speed of light. My game promptly crashes. I then go to my tracking station after reopening the game and discover about 30 new pieces of debris, which was around the part count of the probe, each of which is showing to be glitching around outside the solar system, presumably a couple light years away already. Whenever I switch to the parts, the game crashes, and when I try to terminate them from the tracking station, it freezes and I have to exit out. So I now have 30 pieces of debris in my tracking station that are never going away. Yay!
  7. I've only been on Kerbin, the Mun, and Minmus. I haven't figured out how to get interplanetary intercepts yet (more like I only tried once and it didn't work and I've been farming science from Kerbin system since then). Hoping to launch (or at least attempt to) a Duna mission this weekend though.
  8. I guess minimal is too much of an understatement. I was thinking more in terms of humans working to live on a planet that has average temps ranging from -20°C - 20°C or from around 50°C - 70°C being easier than working on a planet in a similar orbital area to Venus or Mars. Still would need substantial work and environmental protection, but a) it would take less time to normalize temperatures via terraforming and b) less shielding would be necessary to deal with thermal extremes. Or, it could be just as hard as working on any other planet because its still not in the middle of the habitable zone. I don't know, and I guess no one else knows for sure either. Just food for thought.
  9. I think the Trappist system would be interesting because it has (I believe) 1 planet in the habitable zone and 2 more floating around the edges, meaning habitable with minimal environmental work. Also the solar system in the Firefly universe is really interesting, with a trinary star system and each star has its own set of planets.
  10. Jeb is recuperating in the KSC after returning from my failed attempt at making a mobile moon lab. The idea was to have a craft with a processing lab land on the Mun and collect data, process that data, then bunny hop to a new biome and repeat. Unfortunately, it did not have enough battery to run life support through the long Munar night (running TAC Life Support), so I had to make an emergency launch to orbit before my Kerbals (5 on this mission) froze to death. Then I found that I had enough battery charge to run life support while on the dark side of my orbit, but not enough to actually run the lab. I sent a probe with a ton of batteries on it to rendesvous with the spacecraft (that took FOREVER) and used KAS to add them to the lab. Needless to say, it was able to process all of the data, then land again and repeat the process before it had to go back to Kerbin. The final reentry stage has been known to spontaneously flip and explode when reentering from the Mun, so I had to use about 1000 m/s of delta v to slow my self down for the landing. I had also never tested the parachutes to see if they could slow it down enough, but luckily they worked and everyone made it back to Kerbin safe and sound, with about 2000 science to boot.
  11. I was coming back from my first (mostly) successful Mun landing and got stuck in a highly eccentric Munar orbit when I ran out of fuel for my Poodle. That was back when I still put RCS on non-docking ships instead of reaction wheels, so I used all of my RCS fuel and got back into Kerbin's SOI, but with a 2000 km periapsis. I then decided it was time to get out and push, so Jeb left the capsule, flattened himself against the heat shield (I had jettisoned the fuel tanks and engine at this point), and lit up his EVA jetpack. It took him a good 2 minutes to bring our orbit sufficiently inside the atmosphere, but it worked out!
  12. Will there will be any issues if I add this mod to my current install, such as problems with the career mode I am working on? I am running KSP Interstellar, B9 Aerospace, KW Rocketry, K&K Planetary Bases, TAC Life Support, KIS, KAS, Docking Port Alignment Indicator, Kerbal Alarm Clock, and KER. Thank you for your help.
