  1. Noted - I'll squeeze in some of the contracts that don't require too much fiddling around and hold on to the more complex ones until you can get us some updates on the CC IDE. Thank you.
  2. @Kerbart The problem with 365 is it's aggressive push against traditional office coupled with it's complete lack of any security or privacy. No one working with sensitive data wants it due to it's inherent vulnerability but Microsoft is willing to take away your offline version and put you in their walled garden online. Not to mention THEY decide what to do with all your data . In the last 5+ years we had 5 major vulnerabilities for offline computers and dozens of major vulnerabilities for online systems. Transmission encryption is a joke with cyphers being severely outdated badly implemented , storage encryption is also getting there . Since they gave their rump to Uncle Sam via PRISM and other programs Microsoft dosen't have to disclose breaches as they happen since they know they won't be hit to hard with the law hammer. We depend on Office for productivity whether we like it or not , Microsoft knows that and it's been handling it in the worst possible way. I still have some hopes for Office 2019 since the 2016 release was just a change of colors and some bugfixes.
  3. Quite a difference from single player . All Bethesda's games needed was co-op Diablo II style but instead they decided to be stupid about it. If they give us offline mod with mods and co-op with mods it will be awesome. Otherwise we'll just have to keep smashing KSP with mod hammer and pray to Armstrong for more updates or DLCs.
  4. Are there any plan to allow this wonderful tool to be used by people making contract packs for the Career Mode ? While the community has put it blood , sweat and tears behind such efforts we have always struggled without an official system in place.
  5. You either use Kerbal Academy or you can use the debug tools to cheat. Your choice.
  6. They need two things to make that game a multi billion success. Have an offline mode and allow user mods otherwise it will be another tortured soul like TES Online.
  7. Another problem is that now the upper management is a bunch of empty husks , there is no trained support just a bunch of minimum 3rd world payed minimum trained poor souls. The "mobile first" mantra died last year and the quality of Windows 10 is atrocious. It's basically Google Search , it was good , they removed search in results and now it's terrible but there are no good alternatives. Right now they are busy killing Office via the 365 zero security & zero privacy "cloud" and once more there is no viable alternatives for pro users and businesses. Microsoft failed multiple times in the past 5 years to prove they are committed to a product or that they have any kind of company vision. Just like Bill Gates they are wasting money in 1001 different places with little results and can't stop praising India. I fully expect them to kill GitHub in a few years after failing to implement some "innovative" features to help with monetization . The only reason they bought GitHub is due to the fact that they miserably failed to design and improve a better version control software for their internal use. Instead of squeezing 2B less in profits and creating that software from the grounds up Apple style they went and bought the system everyone is talking about. Good thing that GitLab exists when they decide to pull the plug on it as they did with countless other projects in the last years.
  8. You need more engineers. If I remember correctly it needs 4 or more of them to be deployed. Each part has the number of engineers required to deploy written in the extended description.
  9. Has anyone seen the trailers and jumped up and down like a maniac ? Because I sure didn't do that more than 10 minutes continuously.
  10. I'm a Elon Musk kind of guy always trying to recycle everything to lower costs , then I use my contract cash to try to build bases on every celestial body. It's extremely hard not to use throw away vessels as it limits your dV and it makes it much more of a challenge to move that 300 ton station into the orbit of Eeloo.
  11. MechJeb - because launching the same resupply mission for the 20th time is boring , tedious and necessary.
  12. UPDATE : I deleted everything and reinstalled the game and added just Contract Configurator. The result is the same : EDIT : I saw that this is listed as bug. Are there any workarounds ? I do need this while figuring out the exact contract code. I have about 40 different types of contracts in mind and getting them to work is quite a pain when every code change must be tested by powering up the client waiting for the game to load , running the test and then reacting accordingly. Please help.
  13. Thanks I've noticed the parameter in the wiki today . I guess i just didn't acknowledged it the first time. One more question. Is there a way to regenerate contract when you change parameters without having to quit to desktop and then restart the game ? I played a bit with the ingame tools but nothing happened. The CC tools say "BROKEN" at the "Reload Contracts" button. It would save a lot on development time.
  14. @LordFerret Unfortunately I do have the inside scoop. I've been a MS partner for over 9 years now . The company tried to cut cost on its developer farms , imported a lot of underskilled devs from it Hyderabad center in India (main developers of Vista) , when that failed they doubled down and started a "diversity program" for low and mid tier managers once again Hindustan provided the bulk of those people. So now you had a stupendous amount of teams with little training killing themselves trying to prove that they can deliver revolutionary results. All talk and now show , just like Windows 10 , Cortana and many other projects. Skype is a premier example , being buggy AF and without any new features for over 5 years AFAIK , we still use it but it's a joke of a program. BTW it has hindi exclusive emojis for what is suppose to be an international version - just to give you an example of how out of touch the developers are. Not to mention the bone headed "CEO" trained by billy boy himself that went with "Mobile first" and killed it's mobile business. MS main advantage is the lackuster lack of any competition. Google could have long killed Office but they vehemently insist on shooting themselves in the balls on a yearly basis. So Google Docs is just another poophole probing program with little features , no security and no long terms stability - basically Google's gold standard.
  15. This may sound silly but does anyone have a code example on how to add bonus objectives ? Please.
  16. Given that today MS is an incompetent dying software company we expect only the worse from this. In the last years they made Windows next to unusable , they made Office nag you about "the cloud" 24/7 while having basically no support and they decides to abandon the mobile market by stopping phone production and reverting to trying to push idiotically coded privacy invading impotent office apps. I expect GitHub to fall like Skype - becoming gradually more useless with each update. Pretty much like all indian IT companies running under the husk of a former US company.
  17. That research does look better , there are a lot of visual similarities. That is still a 300 kg engine producing 88 kN with and ISP of 315 . It's nothing like the 2.5 ton engine so with over 8 times the weight and 4 times the thrust. http://www.dtic.mil/dtic/tr/fulltext/u2/850062.pdf http://www.alternatewars.com/BBOW/Space/SP-8120_Excerpt.pdf Right now the Wolfhound has basically received the some of the stats of the IRL RS-25 while having a distinct look. The engine is terrible except for upper stage LKO missions where it is quite a good engine. To call it OP is simply not true , the thing has two good stats going for him. It's ISP and it's name.
  18. Early in game you don't have access to those scanners plus you need them on a polar orbit with quite a lot of solar panels to keep everything running. I guess each defines early as their own. Also you can't get Kessler syndrome from just two things in LKO - you're pushing it . After LKO sending a satellite on a polar orbit of Eve , well that's a very different mission , one where you'll be counting each dV and praising the Wolfhound or the Nuclear engine.
  19. Why do people think repeating a post makes a valid argument ? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Delta_II_second_stage.jpg Look at the shape , they are very different beasts . Oh also one weighs 100kg the other is 25 times heavier .
  20. There are plenty of cool things to do without mods but none involve orbital mechanics , the interface is so dreadful that without KER you have to constantly switch to your map to watch your ascent profile. The suborbital stuff and the basic atmospheric flight stuff are quite nice tough.
  21. I see your point , I also just remembered how tiny the Voyagers probes are and that we still talk with them. Now as the game progresses a lot of things do get left behind , as with IRL rocket development so there is no bypassing that. Maybe by adding multiple foldable antennas one could make them act as a crude relay antenna - those things are a nightmare in terms of dV and we will always hate them.
  22. Well you made this so I'll take your word for it. I am in the process of making a contract pack that features a 140 x 106 km orbit for a beyond Eeloo deep space relay network contract so eventually I might run into some relevant data to share. In regard to the comm network being OP , why do you say that ? I am a huge fan of realism but given the gargantuan power of surface based radio telescopes I wouldn't have suspected a oversimplification of the comm network rather just a multiplication of bandwidth so the player dosen't sit in front of the PC for 5 hours while the probe is sending a single photo. What's your take on this ?
  23. There is some value to that . If you want the player to enjoy building a series of vehicles you need to put that in. Otherwise you run into the risk of having a handful of overengineered ships doing everything in one go. That simply cuts the game down to just a few hours for the orbital stage. IRL the Soviets and NASA made it rain vehicles with almost weekly interplanetary missions. However I might simply add the option for certain missions to have certain configurations so that the player can follow the epic narrative given to him.
  24. It's not a mod , it's a stock option. The vehicle blows up but the pad stays intact.
