  1. @BobTheKerbalI would highly recommend KSP Interstellar Extended. It's very good if you need parts that can get you to distant star systems. ESLD Jump Beacons and Alcubierre Warp Drive are two other great mods meant for this purpose.
  2. Parallax is a custom terrain shader that is quite hard to implement. While it is possible, I don't have any intention of ever adding Parallax support, as this mod is not big enough and I am not experienced enough to warrant developing Parallax terrain for this. You can still use this pack alongside the stock configs for Parallax, of course, but the terrain will be noticeably different.
  3. Version 0.3.2 has been released! This update adds support for both PlanetShine and DistantObjectEnhancement. Neus Nadavo has had some visual improvements, and performing experiments no longer gives you ludicrous amounts of science. I hope you enjoy! You can download the update over on SpaceDock.
  4. I see. I'll tone it down a bit for the next update. I just went with a large amount because I was trying to offset the difficulty. Yeah, that's a small AtmosphereFromGround thing. I'll make sure to have that fixed soon. I'm really glad you're enjoying the mod.
  5. Thank you for trying it out! I'm glad you're enjoying the mod. That experiment bug is a minor issue I can change in the config. I'll have it working for the update. Sure. It's got a semi-major axis of 26,700,000,000 metres (Kerbin's is 13,599,840,256), and an inclination of 179.9 (basically completely retrograde), as well as almost no eccentricity. I'm not too sure about the orbital period or speed, as that's calculated in-game. Its rotation period is 28,800 seconds (8 hours), and its atmosphere goes up to 325,000 metres. It's 2120 kilometres in radius, about one third the size of Jool, although it has a surface gravity of nearly 0.7g (making it much denser than Jool). It has four biomes; of those four, the poles give you the most science. I hope that answers some of your questions. By the way, how are the returns on science like? Do you think that it gives you too little science for the amount of delta-v required to get there? Or too much? I'm willing to make changes in order to improve the experience. I hope you'll keep enjoying the mod!
  6. Actually, I've only made 3 moons for the system so far. So, 30,000, I guess?
  7. @Misguided KerbalMakes sense. Hopefully you'll be able to find some time to work on this again.
  8. Greetings. Version 0.3.1 is now live! This is a small patch that tweaks some of the textures and surfaces of existing moons, as well as their rotation. All textures have now been successfully converted to DDS format, which allows for OnDemand loading. This helps reduce memory usage. Enjoy! As usual, the update is available on SpaceDock. Note: Helvica and Neus Nadavo's atmospheric rims may still be broken in the Map view. This is a persistent issue that I haven't been able to fix yet. Hopefully, it won't spoil your experience.
  9. @AeroSkyGrab the latest 1.10.1 release from the Releases page on Github (1101, not 191). Drag and drop the "Kopernicus" and "ModularFlightIntegrator" folders into the GameData folder. To answer your first question, yes, it'll work with JNSQ (after all, Kopernicus is a dependency for JNSQ anyway).
  10. Hello again! After a week of slow development, I have managed to prepare the next update for Helvica, Version 0.3. This update adds Neus Nadavo, a Kerbin-like world found just beyond Helvica's rings. Complete with biomes and terrain variation. The update is available for download on SpaceDock. Note: Neus Nadavo is in a very early state. In particular, its atmosphere as seen from the Map view (ScaledSpace; i.e., Tracking Station, etc.) currently has faulty atmosphere rims. It will most likely change over the course of future updates. If there is any feedback you would like to give me, I would be happy to listen.

Guys, just use @OhioBob's atmosphere calculator.
KillAshley hasn't been around for ages.

  12. Kerbal Mythology I've always thought about how the Kerbals see deities and other religious/mythological figures, and there isn't really much to go by in the game other than Moho and Bop. I took it upon myself to make a chart of mythological figures that I think the Kerbals may have worshipped. (In a way, this is a continuation of this forum thread). This is by no means a "standard" for Kerbal mythology, as I don't really expect most people to care too much about it anyway, meaning that these names and definitions are open. However, I did think it would be cool to share my ideas in this forum post, so keep reading if you'd like to know what I came up with. You are free to use this "model" of Kerbal Mythology for anything you want, these are just cool ideas I have (e.g., naming your ships, your missions, Kopernicus planets, etc.). I decided to model the deities after Greek and Roman mythological figures (unoriginal, I know). Similar to our own solar system, I made sure that the names of the figures coincided with the celestial bodies in Kerbal Space Program that had real-world counterparts. Obviously, stock KSP has a reduced solar system, so I wouldn't be able to do it with names made only by Squad. I decided to use the names of celestial bodies found in OPM and MPE, two high-quality mods that add "kerbalized" equivalents of real-world celestial bodies into the game. The celestial bodies that these two mods add counterparts for are named after Greek and Roman gods, so I was able to match up each god with the "Kerbal" version of their name. Even after doing so, there were still a number of Greek and Roman gods that didn't have Kerbal counterparts, so I made my own names that try to maintain the same style. I ended up adding one additional god that wasn't present in any of these mods or ideas, which was Alternis, the god of change and difference, from Alternis Kerbol Rekerjiggered. I also added the Kraken. One last thing; several of the deities have purposes or roles different from their Greek and Roman counterparts do. This is because I wanted their roles to make sense in the in-game universe. Legend: Green = Names made by Squad, found in the stock game. Red = Names found in Outer Planets Mod. (Credits to @CaptRobau) Purple = Names found in Minor Planets Expansion. (Credits to @Exo's Lab) Black = Names made by me. Credits to @NovaSiliskofor "Alternis". Name Greek/Roman Equivalent Role Kebus Phoebus Apollo God of reparation and solar power Moho Hermes/Mercury God of voyages, lava, and fire Eve Aphrodite/Venus Goddess of passion and deceit Duna Ares/Mars God of combat and explosions Dres Demeter/Ceres Goddess of cycles and dullness Jool Zeus/Jupiter God of the clouds Sarnus Cronus/Saturn God of time warping and fate Urlum Uranus/Caelus God of atmospheres and empty space Neidon Poseidon/Neptune God of the oceans Plock Hades/Pluto God of death and currency Krova Hera/Juno Goddess of Kerbalinas and family Vant Hestia/Vesta Goddess of spacecraft Alnerva Pallas Athena/Minerva Goddess of wisdom and missions Kortana Artemis/Diana Goddess of the wilderness Vulko Hephaestus/Vulcan God of engineering and building Bakos Dionysus/Bacchus God of food and celebration Zore Psyche/Anima Goddess of the soul Edas Eros/Cupid God of obsession Ervo Eris/Discordia Goddess of confusion Alternis None/Janus God of change and difference The Kraken None God of chaos and destruction Ike Phobos/Pavor Personification of fear and panic Deke Deimos/Metus Personification of terror
  13. No, KSP is not "spyware", at least not in the typical sense. It just sends some gameplay information back to Squad, which is something that 90% of games probably already do anyway. Don't like it? Use your computer offline. Still want to have internet access? Use a firewall. It's that simple. This collection of gameplay data is not new, and it's definitely not malicious. So there's no real reason to get worried over something like this. KSP is a spaceflight simulator game, not a social media website.
  14. I would just choose a cool name that works well as a vessel name. I normally use this website. For my own ships, I make a "family" of vessels with that name using Roman numerals. Each family fulfills a different basic purpose. Manned spacecraft destined for missions to other moons or planets are simply named after the celestial body itself, while other spacecraft get a unique name. As an example, I am currently playing through career mode in the stock system, and my vessel names are as follows (the list is somewhat large): Hopefully, that gives you an idea of how I would name ships.
  15. Landed Jeb and Bob on the Mun today. First Mun landing in this (relatively) new career save.
  16. You have to make the rings yourself, then. I've never seen SVE add bright green rings to Jool.
  17. I don't really give my missions any names, but I do give names to the ships that carry out that mission. I usually just choose a cool name that works well as a vessel name, and then make a "family" of vessels with that name using Roman numerals. Each family fulfills a different basic purpose. Manned spacecraft destined for missions to other moons or planets are simply named after the celestial body itself, while other spacecraft get a unique name. As an example, I am currently playing through career mode in the stock system, and my vessel names are as follows (the list is somewhat large): I have a lot more names I plan to use! Hopefully, that gives you an idea of how I name my ships.
  18. I don't know what you mean by "defined lines". As for rings, you need Kopernicus for SVE to add rings to Jool.
  19. I intend to add Scatterer support eventually, although I probably won't do so anytime soon.
