KASTOR - Solid Rockets for Every Need! - Development Thread
Emilius73 replied to Emilius73's topic in KSP1 Mod Development
A little update: the Kastor 187 series SRB (1.875m) as it looks right now. -
To get the intended lighting in space, I had to go a bit bright on the surface (it's common in TUFX configs). You can try adjusting the ambient light boost (either in the stock graphics settings or PlanetShine if you have it) if it bothers you.

KASTOR - Solid Rockets for Every Need! - Development Thread
Emilius73 replied to Emilius73's topic in KSP1 Mod Development
Hello guys! A little update: Kastor's development is moving along. A bit slowly at the moment, since I'm getting to grips with Blender and asset creation with it. The first few assets are coming together, and I'll have images to show you soon. In other news, I've set myself a target for release. I'm aiming to put out the first release version of Kastor in July, June if possible (haha, I was very naive back then) Of course, updates will follow adding new features and any parts that I deem fit for the mod. I've also been brainstorming other ideas after Kastor. Stay tuned here! -
totm april 2021 What was your favorite first in KSP?
Emilius73 replied to Tsar_bomba's topic in KSP1 Discussion
First Mun landing in like 2014 or 15. Back then, I didn't know what a quicksave was... And I crashed many times. Other firsts were the first orbit, first rendezvous/docking, first proper station, and my first interplanetary transfer. -
This mod is now deprecated and has been replaced by PALETTE. Custom Kerbalized NASA flags! The pack includes custom-made KASA logos along with my TUFX profile. KASA Meatball Color, black, and white variants included. KASA Worm logo Black, white and red variants included. TUFX PROFILE My TUFX profile used Zorg's famous profiles as a base, and was partly inspired by the color grading in the opening scene of Gravity (2013). Included are 3 profiles: Emilius_Default: The default profile. Emilius_Default_Map: The default profile with motion blur disabled. Made for use in the map view. Emilius_Default_noAO: The profile, with ambient occlusion disabled. Meant for close-up screenshot taking, as AO can form weird shadow lines when the camera is close to a part. TUFX is (obviously) required. You can download it here. I highly recommend the TUFX profile is used in conjunction with other visual mods. For the demo screenshots below, I used EVE, Scatterer, PlanetShine, Distant Object Enhancement, Waterfall and RealPlume, along with the JNSQ planet pack. Demo Screenshots

[1.12.x] Cacteye 2 Refocused Full Release
Emilius73 replied to linuxgurugamer's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Would it be possible to add 1.11 EVA construction support @linuxgurugamer? -
The tug was really used just to test out the engines (from Kerbal Atomics) so it was terminated in the tracking station. Didn't even have it's own probe core, lol

STS-35, the orbiter Ingenuity launching a Minmus surface scan satellite, mounted on a nuclear powered tech demonstrator tug. (JNSQ)

Thanks for all the responses! I wanted to replace the engine models since the AJ10 is aging quite a lot and the RS25 is, like Alberro said, the stock Vector model. What's annoyed me the most about these is the lack of Waterfall support right now (Benjee said the engines need further revamps before Waterfall gets added). I should probably just make configs for those engines or replace the reDIRECT engines with Restock Vectors or something

The first bits of Mun Base Camp have been shipped. Next is the rovers (both crewed and flatbed to install modules), and after that I'll try to get all the remaining modules there in one launch. I'll edit this post with more pics as I progress, don't want to fill up the whole thread! UPDATE: The crew ordered their modules with one-week Kermazon delivery, all in one package. It only took an SLS with 6 boosters and an EUS, but we're here now. Next is the rovers and final assembly. UPDATE 2: The flatbed rover has arrived, and assembly took place! Next is the crewed rover and mining rig.
