  1. Well still running the 1.0 demo (and its somewhat odd saving issues). I will be getting 1.7 in the very near future tho. Already wearing out the demo. I do have to say tho..man I am having fun. Even looked into the somewhat limited career mode of operation as well. Wow this program is so cool. The Kerbans are even growing on me.. Man they love space!

With plotting courses and such. I will say tho to any beginner, take a look at orbital mechanics from back in high school. Maybe not the intense calculations needed to plot angular quantities as vectors or advanced concepts in gravitational laws, but a basic understanding of newtons law would be helpful. Im already brushing the dust off the top of my intro to physics books from back in the day. Especially with the released versions you guys have where its much more intense, it should help.

Well back to finish some of the contracts Gene Kerbal is paying me for. Dont mind if I have to do career mode all over again with 1.7  but I bet this demo will help me choose R&D and various contracts a bit better when I get the full version. So looking forward to aircraft building and such in 1.7 as well... WOW! As far as building rockets... To me thats the best fun so far!

    Cya soon!

My review of KSP so far  . . . 1-10......11!

I'm glad you've found the joy in this game! A little tip for when you are building your Mun rocket - Try to design the lander with a wide base, that will help because it is all too easy to tip over, especially as a new pilot!

Thank you , Ill keep that in mind @cubinator! I already saw a video on utube where Scott was making a small lander and it was a bit jumpy, especially on a small planet. I think It was Mr Manley! Have been watching so many videos the past week about KSP I cant keep track! LOL

Note that for this, you will need to purchase the Making History DLC, or install some mods to get the Saturn V parts!

So true @Geonovast I have been looking at so many utubes and the KSP main store listings and those addons seem to be very reasonable. To be honest this game and Making history would be job one to get soon. To be honest, adding in both DLC's all total for this system is a very good price even at list price, which is what I will be doing very soon! Man this thing rocks! No wonder its backed by a major rocket scientist!

Ha, one more of us! Never too late at the party, KSP is still the strongest and best sim out there.

It has become basically a unique kind of game. Unmatched and standing above all other redundant games.

    Hi Mikki!

Yea I bet your quite correct. I am not a major game type of guy, short of Runescape and some Guildwars II  that my Daughter got me into, but this game is really up my alley! I have loved rockets all my life as well as aircraft, I am (was before I retired) an engineer with software experience as well so to me this game is amazing. So close with flight physics it blows me away.

Not sure if I liked the Kerbal guys in the sim at first. I could get used too them tho and they are growing on me as well as the altered solar system. But this is so close to real its amazing! I do like Werner von Kerbal tho!! Looks almost like him...except for the green skin!! LOL

  5. To me (and I am very new to KSP) I got it from a few peeps on utube. Since my retirement I am now making flying model rockets (again) and into building plastic models, mostly rockets and Aircraft. (yea always loved stuff that fly's) and saw  topics from Scott Manleys content about space and Kerbal. What the heck is a Kerbal..... Well got the demo and loving it. So cool!

  6. Oh thank you so much for the welcome Geonovast. Yea by the looks of it and your recommendation (man thats cool that its free to upgrade) KSP 1.7.3 looks fine to get into this awesome program soon after I get used to this stuff. Is having 1.73 and Kerbal 2 ok to do? Will the old KSP 1.7 & 1.8 die soon or is it that different? Not sure whats going on here so some more reading and utube watching is in order.

In all what Im seeing so far and the 1.0 demo is so fun to do. Cant wait till I get 1.7 and the Saturn 5 rockets. Man Im already planing on landing on the moon (or Mun, lol) soon. Im already watching some of the orbit stuff with Manly and Dastactic tutorials! Man that looks cool! Thanks again and now some more forum traveling is in order as well.

    Going Retro!

  7. Hi guys and gals of kerban space stuff!

Wow amazing program, so excited! I started to look at a few of my favorites from youtube, one in particular Scott Manley who I have been following for a while, about space related topics. It was space issues (including NASA and SpaceX who Ive also been following since my retirement) and many times he talked about KSP program game stuff. KSP, Kerbal?? Kerban?? What the heck is a Kerbal? So I watched a few topics about this and found a cool free KSP Demo and installed it. Cool! No...Not cool! AMAZING!! Wow and it had a link to here and I immediately signed up.

Have been using it for a few weeks now and even though it is very limited with just a few entry like parts and things, I just love it. I know I am going to look into KSP 1.7 or maybe 1.8 (as some have mentioned here) very soon and even KSP 2 for next year. Maybe I can talk the wife into that for my birthday.

With this tho, I have found a new amazing game (if not something very special to add to my model building pleasures as well as keeping up with space stuff) with this awesome rocket based enjoyment program. I have always loved rocketry. Hope I can learn and maybe share to you all as well, soon. Thank you Squad! And to you at this forum for welcoming me!
