  1. i built a basic rover and got a sample of one of kerbins baobab trees.
  2. i got jeb bill and bob back to minmus, and was in the process of landing when dad came over and told me to move so he could get the router that finally arrived installed. i told him it could wait the time it took for me to touch down on minmus.
  3. i landed jeb bob and bill on mun, collected science, and then failed to have enough fuel to break mun orbit. i had enough monoprop to boost them into a slightly higher orbit, and successfully sent Val to go rescue them. I also screwed up a Minmus mission by staging on the surface and not quicksaving. so that's an entire trip in the trash. and i did something kinda clever in a sandbox game as a test, i sent up a couple relay satellites on one ship, and then deployed them and adjusted their trajectories so they would end up in a high orbit roughly equidistant from each other. currently their trajectories look like a flower. i did, however, mess up the deployment by leaving SAS on and not extending the solar panels so I had to send Jeb and Bill up to manually extend them, which required a good bit of maneuvering since by then they'd spread out from each other.
  4. i was able to get KSP downloaded onto the Mac, which is the beefiest computer we own. Dad immediately broke the game with some of the rockets he built and imported from his laptop, since his laptop wasn't strong enough to render them in flight. Turns out there's a reason for that. He put 168 engines on a single stage. I also started a science sandbox game and so far i have: -orbited Mun and brought back some science -orbited Minmus and brought back some science and had to do the mission over after I botched the reentry and had Bob burn up along with the science -put a relay satellite in high polar orbit around Mun -grabbed an asteroid I managed to intercept the asteroid on a test flight before i had unlocked the RCS thrusters, though i reverted that as it was for practice. Next stop is landing on Mun, building a rover to harvest Science from the KSC, and figuring out how the dang robotics work. I'm also working on a meme flag that should be finished... uh.... hmmm.
  5. Not nearly as fun as some of these names, but i saw a "Berman Kerman" in the applicants and IMMEDIATELY hired her.
  6. when your spaceplane refuses to nose down and instead keeps spinning around, pointing retrograde, then you may need to go back and fiddle with the CoM. still, they survived that landing too.
  7. i made it into orbit in a spaceplane. took a few tries and some tweaking, but it was done. one of the test flights made it almost into orbit but not quite, so i had to land. and the trajectory ended up with them heading for the night side of kerbin. over land. in a spaceplane. with no chutes. they landed safely on some grasslands.
  8. i said planes, but rockets is probably more accurate as they're less frustrating. i will make a working spaceplane one of these days, though. just you watch.
  9. i also managed to save my engineer after i launched a rocket i'd forgotten the purpose of. (It was an asteroid miner, but i didn't remember what the target was) The rocket spun out at altitude, and didn't have a parachute, so i jettisoned the lower stages, lit the last stage, (i think it was using a twitch engine, so it had decent atmospheric thrust) and did a powered descent. it also didn't have landing legs so i had the kerbal hop out just before impact. he survived, as did most of the debris. [edit] swivel. it was a swivel, not a twitch.
  10. i managed to build a working spaceplane, for a given value of 'working'. (more tests are required). but i was able to get it into a suborbital flight, hitting i think 116 km? i wasn't watching my apoapsis so i ran out fuel before achieving orbit proper. i also managed to knock the kerbals out cold on the way back down from all the Gs.
  11. that's a good question. i really want to leave "JEB WAS HERE" scrawled across a monolith
  12. I thought it was the gunk scraped off the launchpad after a failed launch?
  13. banned because someone should have designated a temple for their kerbal to relieve stress
