  1. You might be able to create springs with a flat part, like a grip pad or structural plate, on the bottom of a piston with the damper turned down. Set the piston's extension to max so it tries to stay out, like a spring, but the low damping setting makes it compress easily.
  2. Rockets, because I can't figure out plane SSTOs and atmospheric planes aren't useful. The only planes I build are space shuttle style spaceplanes.
  3. Did some testing. Same Vessel Interaction makes no difference at all with the legs. However, I got some more luck when I strutted the bottom hinge on the piston part to the leg. By turning up the traverse rate and turning off damping on the truss' hinge, I could use the piston to make a difference on the landing legs, but only when gravity was hacked in the debug menu to a level similar to the Mun. For reference, I tried to recreate the setup seen in the screenshots, but the piston part was attached to the fuel tank.
  4. You could enable Same Vessel Interaction on the areas where they should connect, but it might not work. Using struts is another option, but it would most likely break the contraption. I'll do some testing.
  5. There isn't an official one ran by Squad, but there is the r/KerbalSpaceProgram Discord https://discord.gg/RpHr2fe
  6. Show as in post pictures? The Spacecraft Exchange subforum is a good place to post craft.
