  1. Alright so I got to Duna. However once I got into orbit or an escape trajectory out of duna I had a very big inclination so I was like beneath Duna, not very efficient, how do I make sure this doesn't happen again. Also once I got into Duna I had a high velocity so I had to spend alot of fuel to slow down, how can I make sure that I use the least amount of fuel possible to get to Duna?
  2. Then how am I supposed to know how to get to Duna? I don't even know what course corrections I'm supposed to be doing and when, I just burn at the time when it tells me too and that apparently won't get me there?
  3. Right I'm doing something wrong cause it's not getting me into a Duna encounter. I wait until I'm at the Adjusted vessel eject angle then I burn prograde until my required delta-v reaches 0 and I'm just in an orbit around the sun -.- I suck.
  4. I have a ship in orbit atm with a protractor calculator. If I update can I still use the ship and the calculator that's on it?
  5. I have the old version without the Closest Approach lines. I'm in orbit around kerbin atm and I need to go to Duna, my eject angle is 210.22 and my current eject angle changes all the time as I orbit around. I tried to start burning once I hit 210.22 eject angle and once I reached the amount of delta-v I needed I still wasn't in a Duna encounter trajectory, I'm doing something wrong, what is it? Can I keep my current eject angle somehow or?
  6. Does this have a landing computer like MechJeb that'll tell you where you're landing relative to your landing site that you've picked?
  7. PakledHostage: What are the physics behind coming in too steep or too shallow? I realize that it's friction with the air particles that generates heat while coming in and that's the reason for temperature, doesn't the temperature also get higher when you come in too steep because the craft will be heavier and therefore the friction is higher = more heat. And if you come in too shallow is it because you don't slow down quickly enough so the heat just builds up and builds up? Also maybe a drogue chute and some aeroshells for the future, maybe a drogue chute that can withstand openings at 800m/s but not really slow down the craft sufficiently for a landing? Because often while coming in for a duna landing you're coming in so quickly that you can't open your main chute before you're below 400m/s and that might be when you're only a couple 100m off the ground. Also, does anyone know why parachutes tend to get ripped off from time to time even though I'm below 400m/s? Is it better to pop the chute as early as possible when I'm below 400m/s to let the drag slow me down or should I wait until I really need the chute to be opened at around 500m?
  8. Damnit! Well the heat shield breaks once the integrity meter reaches 0/to the far left right? And the faster I go, higher temperature and higher g-forces I experience the faster this integrity bar ticks down right?
  9. A few things: - This mod is AWESOME. - I don't get the small window that says Temperature, Shock and all that during re-entry sometimes. Does my heat-shield need to be in it's own stage with nothing else in it when I activate it? - How am I supposed to know at what temperature, speed, integrity and g-force that my capsule/heatshield will break up? Any numbers on this? - Any plans for drogues that can withstand high-speed openings and that create a small amount of drag?
  10. Well the three of you were right. It was a balance issue even though it was minimal it did affect. Like sal_vager said it was specifically the extras that created the problem, I moved them all to the bottom and I tried to place them symettrically, the spacecraft doesn't fly precisely straight in space now but it's much better than before and the ASAS works perfectly atleast. I'll continue to develop on this spacecraft and try to fix it completely. Thanks again!
  11. Does this mod take aerodynamics or drag into effect or whatever the name is? Like I mean if I have my pod with a shield under it and then I have two wings which stick out to the sides. The heatshield will cover the pod if you look from below but the wings will stick out more, with a re-entry will these wings be pulled off, destroyed or affected in any way? I guess debris burns up unless they have a heatshield that covers them?
  12. Hello, I've made a spacecraft which I'm having some issues with. When I'm in space and I'm doing a normal burn my spacecraft will tip over/forward as I throttle up. If I engage the ASAS the craft will point itself a few degrees away from where the point I locked the ASAS too. I just want to understand why and how I can prevent this from happening. The center of thrust and the center of mass looks good so I don't think thats the problem. Any advanced spacecraft builders that can explain to me why this happends and what the cause might be? 13. When decoupling sometimes during using a heat shield the decoupled part might blow up and say "Excessive g-loads/forces bla bla bla..". For example I have a 2m heat shield and then I have aeroshells which I decouple before I cut my craft loose from the heatshield the aeroshells will often explode at around 10 000m altitude which is when I do this.
  14. Sorry if I ask again but does anyone have the working part.cfg file for the Short Kosmos Solar panel that can be used along with ZoxyGene? Working as in the animation is functioning correctly.
  15. Doesn't work for ZoxyGene I have two crafts with two ZoxyGene systems, upon decoupling the escape pod my kerbal inside the main craft dies even though the main system, batteries etc are all present.
  16. When I remove what from where? If you mean the SolarPanel.cfg from the PluginData/PowerTech then I don't think so. That cfg is for another solar panel. The problem is that the Kosmos Solar Panel has a wrong deploy animation, so something is probably wrong with the part.cfg.
  17. Theres a "ZO2PowertechSolarpanel.cfg" file in the PluginData folder and I can't even find the download link for the Kosmos Solar Panels anymore.
  18. How? The deploy animation for the "Short Kosmos Solar Panel" doesn't work. They kind of get placed at a distance away from the craft and they stay undeployed, though clicking deploy seems to still give you solar panel. I'm kind of desperate, does anyone have the part.cfg for The short Kosmos Solar panel?
  19. Does anyone know how to make the Kosmos Short/Long Solar Panels that fold out with an animation work with ZoxyGene? Also does anyone know how to make the animation actually work because it doesn't in 0.16.
  20. So you can convert Kethane into Liquid Fuel. How exactly? Let's say I have this Kethane filled tank on the mun, I land with a rocket. Now how do I refuel this rocket?
  21. I can't find the 2m to 3m shroud/decoupler/shell that kind of looks rounded. It's in the second pic of the OP I think. Does anyone know if it's in the novapunch pack at all? EDIT: It might be even bigger than 3m.
  22. What is radius one and two, are they simply my orbit and the target orbits radius (for example, 150km orbit 75km radius)? "tH = 1.2897e7 seconds" "Planetary Phase Angle = 82.0°" "Hohmann ÃŽâ€v1 = 2.0904 km/s" what does any of this data mean? "This is the angle from your travel direction as your get farther from the planet to your ejection burn point. Here is a picture to illustrate (for the case of a positive Hohmann delta-v):" Which data is my ejection burn point? The Planetary Phase Angle? If it's 82 degrees where is that burn point in my circular orbit? What do I use with the hohmann transfer v1 data? I only need to know the ejection velocity if I want to intercept the Mun or Murs for example don't I? What am I supposed to do with the tH data, are the seconds relevant to something or did I only need to know if in order to figure out the phase angle?
