  1. @Superfluous JHi again, so its just a fairing? But how did he remove it afterwards and have just the two modules, and still attached? And when he attached it he just offsets it and those fake trusses are like automatically lengthened? I am still fairly new to the game, sorry.
  2. I thought i would update on my progress. I went with KSP 1.8 and all was well.. Then i modded it, and i was back to point A. After installing, uninstalling and re-installing in a different order and analysing fps.. Over and over again. I think i figured it out. Scatterer was killing it. I removed it, and all is well once again!
  3. Hi guys, This is something i can't get right, and i haven't heard of a mod that does this. Please watch this video, Between 2:00 and 2:30 mins. Basically he builds a relay satellite and a rover. He attaches the dish directly under the rover and uses structural trusses to attach the two together and offset them. But then he is able to delete the steal trusses from between the two modules, and somehow the two modules are still attached (both highlighted green) by nothing but air. This allows him to fix the two modules together with strut connectors afterwards. If i try this, clicking the steal trusses will take one of the modules with it? And you can't attach a green highlighted part to a red highlighted part with struts. This trick really could've helped like 100 times!
  4. @Superfluous J really? Strange, I don't recall me having to worry about my stages touching down? I didn't even give it any thought. They just seemed to be there as long as i remembered to fit chutes. FMRS doesn't want to work, it causes my expansion packs to being "verified" during loading, forever. I had really hoped it worked, would've solved all my problems! Thanks again, I'll take a look at that mod!
  5. Hi guys, I'm running KSP 1.8 and something is really bugging me. I was playing ksp 1.1 and I really loved the game, so I upgraded to 1.8 and got some mods. However, it came at a price. Booster Recovery was now basically impossible or unreasonably difficult to pull off. When the part gets more than 25 km's away, the parachutes "un"deploy, and if the part is in the atmosphere and more than 25 km's away, it just disappears. How do you separate a side booster so it stops rising, starts falling, deploys chutes and touches down, all before you get more than 25kms away? What's the point of using them then? I did a spaceX style launch, separated side boosters, switched to them and activated mechjeb2 auto landing. Both boosters touched down absolutely perfectly, about 50 metres apart. This was it! I was super excited! Painfully i then found out about the 25km problem. It sounds contradictory, but i had separated those boosters very, very early. And it was just lucky that by the time they landed and i switched back to my craft, it was at appoapsis- a pure fluke, and a result i haven't been able to replicate since!Although appoapsis was way too high.. Like 50km over target. I assume the rocket just kept going flat out, straight line. I realise i could go sub-orbital, separate, get to orbit and switch back to them afterwards, so i can ride them down to avoid disappearing. But that is not on. I feel like this is a major step backwards for the game. In ksp 1.1, the parts didn't disappear? You just hoped they didn't destroy themselves on impact, and even if so, there was often debris that survived.. And I've seen mechjeb2, guide two separate craft, and land them simultaneously no problems. Btw, FMRS would be amazing, but it seems to clash with the expansion packs- making history, breaking ground. And i really want them. Reverting back to 1.1 is not worth it. Can anyone tell me if its possible to get around the 25km barrier? I rate if it could be disabled, the auto pilot won't disengage, parachutes will work again, and you wouldn't have to just shoot and hope for the best. Maybe even the ability to switch vehicles in the atmosphere. For the record, i don't care if the recovered parts are worth peanuts. It's what makes building, launching and getting to orbit satisfying. It's really irritated me, and even poisoned my mindset. I find myself just building what ever, using the money cheat and who cares because its all just going to be thrown in the trash. May as well just play sandbox. And i have really been trying to do the career and earn enough money the right way, but i feel like the game is just stealing my sh!t and ruining the experience. Even if recovery isn't worth a lot or even worth nothing, it makes me more build conscious and the process a lot more enjoyable. Why doesn't the game just put me straight into orbit and take all the fun out of it. I'm sorry, i know im ranting. Any help would be appreciated.
  6. @steve_vi apologise, i just saw this is 1.1.0, i really thought off hand it was 1.0? so i just took a good look at the fps, around the station, it was more like 5/6 fps exactly. But if i turned the physics Delta time from max to min, i got 12/13 fps constant. And my frame rate was about as tempremental before i modded. So i guess its just a little out dated. I'm just going to upgrade. One KSP 1.10.0 please. Cheque!
  7. @steve_vhahaha. About 300 parts? What fps should i be getting? @James Kermanyeah i was pretty confused, i thought maybe i had something in the settings wrong like persistent debris and physics-delta time settings. I'm sorry if im messing this thread up, no idea how these work.. Lol
  8. @s_gamer101 thanks, im going to upgrade. What kind of errors should i be looking for?
  9. @s_gamer101 Thanks, I'll definitely look at using CKAN too, I'm going to move to a newer version of the game anyway, so I'll change a few things up. But mods aside. Even on a fresh version of the game, is there no way around the low frames? It doesn't seem that I'm CPU or gpu bound, yet it stays at a constant 8-9fps. It is quite a few parts, but i wouldn't say abnormal? @James Kerman when i realised the mods weren't firing up correctly, excuse the pun, i kinda figured version 1.0 might be the culprit , haha. Definitely going to upgrade! As for the performance issue, if its not CPU or gpu related, is it just the game that's freaking out? I mean 1.0.
  10. @James KermanI'm using EVE(not working correctly) which did admittedly drop my high of 50-60fps down to 35-45fps.. MechJeb2 and Redux aren't working at all, and a textures pack which i also think is not 100%. That's about it.. But i was doing it before i added the mods anyway. It is also KSP like 1.0? I know, i was just getting a feel for the game, haha.
  11. Hi guys. I'm new to the game, and I experience really low fps(8-9) when near high part count vessels i.e space stations. The game normally sits at 50-60fps, but as i get closer that 2.0kms to a station it drops. I'm running; B450 motherboard Ryzen 3200 @ 3.6ghz watercooled XFX RX580 8Gb 16GB RAM 64bit, windows 10 Desktop runs off 512GB m.2 SSD The game is on a 500GB HDD It doesn't help if i ramp up CPU to 4.0GHz because CPU hovers at about 60-80%. The GFX Card barely works at 0-40%-800-100mhz I am running the game with everything maxed out.I'm not sure what's going on here?Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
