  1. Possibly, except this engine hovers at 20,000meters. See where 2 and 1 put you.
  2. I\'m editing the TurboJet\'s maximumThrust, OptimalAirflow, LowerAirflowLimit, and maximumExhaustSpeed values. Currently, they sit like this: maximumThrust: 175 maximumExhaustSpeed: 1900 OptimalAirflow: 30 LowerAirflowLimit: 4 It just ran out of power at 23,500 meters for me. I also renamed the engine to HybridTurboEngine. Dual engines, it likes to stay around 700m/s, just what I want.
  3. Maybe you could hook this up to a computer running some space game, and since you said it\'d be outside, connect it via extension cord.
  4. I want to make the Turbojet engine give me a maximum altitude of 24 kilometers. What would I need to change in the CFG file?
  5. Yeah, but I seriously trust these peoplemore than I trust myself to build a computer. I know I\'d break something, or not put it together right.
  6. Sure, let me find them... wait, they\'re on my laptop. Wait until I\'ve replaced the dead keyboard, and then I will.
  7. I am reviving the space program idea, except some things are changing this time. 1: Missions received by public must have scientific purpose, and be able to be completed in the real world. 2: I am using MOAR plugins. This time, comsats and power tech. 3: I will not be accepting public missions until after I complete the Gemini-equivalent. Now that that\'s out of the way, here\'s the mods: Kosmos PowerTech Comsat Plugin Novapunch IFE Kosmos LK Probodobodyne Radial Boosters Carts Here are the current goals and missions: #1 Test upper atmosphere with rocket plane. #2 Put unmanned probe into space. #3 Orbit unmanned probe. #4 Comsat network #5 Put kerbal in space. #6 Orbit kerbal. #7 Put three kerbals in space. #8 Orbit three kerbals. #9 EVA one kerbal. (Will be accepting missions once this is complete) #10 Pass the Mun. #11 Orbit the Mun. #12 Land on the Mun. #13 Put small space habitat in orbit. Rules for suggesting: Has to be doable and practical in the real world. Has to have a scientific or tourist purpose. Has to be reasonable. Has to avoid certain death. I will not be starting this until V0.16, so you may discuss and suggest features and missions until the release. When the release occurs, no more mission suggestions. Yes, you can suggest missions until .16.
  8. I won\'t see it, because I live in northern virginia... way too much light pollution.
  9. I built a rover on my laptop that I really want to use for this, but my laptop is currently dead. Also, I think whenever my next flight comes along, it\'ll be with IFE, since that\'s all I use now for extra realism.
  10. Looking at this super-desktop on CyberPower PC, it\'s 1264. I was either going to do a 30GB SSD for OS memory, and then a 1 TB hard drive, or a 512MB SSD for a hard drive. Picked the 1TB hard drive. MUCH cheaper. Like, 600 dollars cheaper.
  11. I think I have found a solution. I\'ll fix my current laptop, maybe add some RAM, and then get a decked-out desktop, so I can change parts.
  12. The tech is temporary, and now we\'re at 60s tech. We\'ll eventually get to modern tech. The UoSoV no longer holds Spearka. It\'s up to the Warsaw Pact RCK if you get it back. The rules are a tad loose, the points can be a bit annoying, but it\'s to prevent godmodding and such. The points are mainly dependent on size, but technocracies seem to get like 2 extra points or something... I don\'t know. PP expand with colonization and time. And yes, those who claim the biggest chunk usually win.
  13. Upload the pic to imgur.com, use the [image] tags to link it.
  14. This looks really good. I might shoot for this instead actually. It seems it\'s newer, probably less problems, not refurbished, and just as good (if not better). Anyway, after looking at other items in that price range... not a bad deal at all, actually. I\'m just concerned about the weight, mostly, and how they never actually mention its monitor resolution. They said HD, but that can mean anything from 1366x768 to 1920x1200... so yeah. Also, I\'d bet $20 that the 1.0 MP camera is worthless. Lastly, it looks ugly as hell. But if it does what you want it to, that doesn\'t matter. All in all, I\'d say not bad. EDIT: Hey hey hey check out this! I rarely use my webcam, but my current is a 'HP TrueVision HD', if that tells you anything. I don\'t care about weight really. I can deal with hauling a ten pound laptop if I get a fast one that works well.
  15. So pretty much it\'s fifty/fifty me getting a good laptop or me getting screwed over.
  16. I need a laptop, as in two months, I\'ll be a freshman in high school. I currently have a laptop that can handle basic tasks, and run KSP (slowly for 90% of the time). It\'d work, but I need something that can really run faster, because I get mad easy, and in any case using this thing, I always end up cursing under my breath at it for being so slow. I\'m going to see how much my family can help me pay for it, because I don\'t want to burn all my money at once. I was thinking of a desktop at first, thanks for the suggestion. My friend got his from some company that takes the pieces, assembles it, runs quality tests, and then ships. Most probably do this, I\'m very new into the world of computers. I do find the pricing quite confusing. I currently have a refurbished HP Pavilion dv6 with the 2.1 ghz i3 core, etc. (the specs are in the OP), and it runs... slow. My dad got it for me, and I think it was 200 or 300 dollars, due to the quality. What was your required laptop for high school? I\'m now interested after hearing that price tag. Must\'ve been good. And yes, I read the two customer reviews. I should probably read the reviews from the original, non-refurbished model as well.
  17. What I want to know is if any of you guys know a better computer for the same price and/or less. Aaaand I just read this in one of the consumer reviews: 'One thing I am a little mad about, is that they advertise it as 8GB of RAM, and I naturally assumed 1333MHz.. oh how wrong I was. They do give you 8GB of RAM... however it\'s clocked at 665.3MHz. ' How important is that? How big of a problem would that be?
  18. My LEO rockets have waaay too many parts... except for my egghead design, it\'s relatively small and way too powerful. Graphics being the slowest part of the machine? That\'s no problem, this computer would be about five times worse. Yeah, my current has 4GB, and I was going to get an extra 4GB for it before I saw this. My friend\'s desktop (we call it the supercomputer, it\'s i7, 8GB RAM, 2TB harddrive, 2GB graphics memory, some NVIDIA graphics card, requires 7 fans) has 8GB, and so does my other friend\'s new laptop.
  19. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Asus---17.3%26%2334%3B-Refurbished-Laptop---8GB-Memory---1TB-Hard-Drive---Black/5863068.p?skuId=5863068&id=1218697298118 What do you think of it? Will it do better than my current laptop at KSP? Current laptop is i3 at 2.1 ghz, 4 GB ram, 750 GB hard drive.
