  1. I'm flying shuttles to my Space Station, finishing it up. This is the second launch, the first one went smoothly- for a shuttle. I lost control, so I reloaded a quick save. Upon loading, one of the SRBs came off. I ditched the other one, then went to reload, but remembered a Scott Manley video I saw a while ago. I paused, went through the steps in my head, and unpaused. I pitched the shuttle to between radial out and retrograde. At 50 km, I flipped it over. After a bit more burning, I lost control when the external tank ran out. I ditched it, then used the RCS to regain control. After regaining control, I pointed my nose in the direction of the runway and began my OMS burn. After it, upon atmospheric entry, I realized. Oh! I still have a 42-ton payload! I should get rid of that! I flipped upside-down, opened the cargo bay, and dropped my orange tank. I closed the bay, activated control surfaces, and did a standard shuttle re-entry. Pitch 40 degrees up, when the flames are gone, act like a plane. And I made my way towards the runway, touching down at 70 m/s, deploying the chute, and letting it slow me down. "Now, where's the whiskey?"
  2. I know one! Pressing “X,” or I think it’s square on PS4 when hovering your cursor over an encounter will keep the info there! It helps me a lot as I do a lot of docking
  3. Olympus Station! A 230 part, 200 ton Station to LKO Launch 1: Deliver the main body of the station to LKO Attempts Launch 2: Send temporary crew Done, Although the TWR of the first stage was that of a sounding rocket, shooting right off the launch pad Launch 3: dock ore tanks and ISRU to the station. Done Launch 4 and 5: Dock refueling tanks and send final crew Shuttles suck. But, Part 1 is done. Part 2, yes and i made my shuttle stable
  4. I had the same problem, I just gave up and started making rockets. My first rocket was... What you can call "Overkill" but never made it above 7,000 meters due to instability
  5. If you use the radial preset, Press Y/Triangle, then there should be an option to change symmetry. Press it, then you can choose between 1 and 8 radial, 1 and 2 mirrored.
  6. I started a new save file. Unintentionally, it became the kraken’s favorite. Here is the documentation of every mission conducted. Missions that aren't included are boring ones. Mission 3: Science mission out of the atmosphere. Upon landing, the craft blew up 4/5 times though. Mission 4: The kraken tipped over the lander. Pure anger flowed through me until I got it upright. Mission 6: A bob spaghetti and an exploding lander. Missions 7 and 8: The kraken feasted on some geostationary satellites, until mission 9 got it right. Mission 11: Uhh, Lithobraking should be enough said. Mission 11.5: The refueling vessel for the rover's landing booster had robotic parts. It completed it's mission before the kraken finished it. This, and 13 are the only missions that don't have quicksave reloads. Mission 12: It just- stopped. The rover didn't move in it's solar orbit at all over three years. I think it's in the kraken's refrigerator. Mission 13: Can't make a maneuver node. The cursor's gone. Mission 14: AKA The Launch of Olympus Station
  7. Last seen: 2 minutes ago Suspect: Unknown Description: An Xbox player, Wizard Kerbal had just deleted a maneuver node and went to make another, more precise one. His cursor was still there, but the blue dot that showed where a maneuver node could be placed was absent. They were very confused, and even switched to other vessels to see if this was just the Pioneer's problem. But it wasn't. No vessel could make a maneuver node! Edit: Turns out I just broke the f&%#*ng game. No idea how. It just went ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
  8. No i’m not Danny2462, but I have my fair share of kraken incidents. Such an occasion just occurred. Jeb was returning from a successful mission, when his capsule clips into the ground and is destroyed.
  9. Yeah, i’ve started using #2, it’s just put yourself in this situation: You’re fine tuning your encounter, and suddenly, it disappears. You look back, and see the purple lines of an encounter. You sh$@! And on Xbox, we don’t have the predicted path further option to see where you’ll go after the Munar flyby, unless you make a maneuver node which can be finicky
  10. My 2nd Minmus mission - Mun got in the way All gilly missions - Mun got in the way 3/4 duna missions - Mun got in the way 1/2 Duna return missions - Ike got in the way 1/1 Jool missions - DUNA?! got in the way
  11. I'm planning missions to the Joolian system, and I thought a nice bonus would be the texture revamps. But I don't want to get my hopes up if the revamps aren't for console
  12. So I have the massive, 80 ton rover using the big wheels, and when I was playing another game, I neutral-steered. I realized, HEY! That'll probly work. So, don't turn while you're moving, but slow down all the way, then turn left or right. These wheels use the same mechanism as a tank, which means it turns fastest when stopped. This is because when stopped, 1 Side forward, 1 side backward. When moving, One side slower/stopped, 1 side still going forward, if you're moving forward, backwards if going backwards. It still turns slow, though
  13. I had the same thing, Test RT-10 in flight above kerbin, 15 to 25 km, speed, 160 to 320 m/s, I click "test" all the checks light up, but still no reward
  14. Oh I always do this [DELETED]
  15. Like the Xbox achievements, DING! One does not simply return Congratulations! You landed on Eve!
  16. Yeah, my gravity rings that work the same way yours do just flop in gravity, so I attach struts to decouplers, then the rings work in 0-G. On my interplanetary transport ships, I just turn them off when doing a burn By the way, you don't need KAL controllers, you can set the torque to 100, the RPM to 11, or as close as you can to 11, then use an action group to engage/disengage the rotor.
  17. It’s not that I don’t want to play modded, but i’m on console. Shoulda specified
  18. If you use the radial preset, press Y or whatever it translates to on PS4, then there should be an option to enable/disable physwarp. And I think you meant interplanetary.
  19. I recently launched a mission to rendezvous with a comet, and the closest approach is now 1.4 kilometers. My current separation is ~500 km, and I’m wondering what range it loads, because I don’t want to suddenly warp into it, ending the mission prematurely.
  20. Every console player literally can't live without it, but a major feature I don't use, I guess, are the scenarios. I prefer to do those things myself.
  21. I'm looking at my deltaV for my huge Mun rover, and I notice something. Once i'm in Mun orbit, I won't have enough deltaV to land. Waiiiit a minute. What If I, use that big engine and fuel tank's explosion to slow me down? Hopefully it'll be enough. I'll report back when I land. Dear god, this might work Attempt 1: BOOM! boom crash explosion Attempt 2: Ok, so, I hit the surface, and then the rover survives! Just a 20 m/s bounce . . . into a crater, which made that speed 90 m/s and not much would survive that crash. I'll just send a refueling vessel with a claw. Alright! After a fuel transfer, I have 700 m/s of Delta V. More than enough to land. But, the craft that refueled it used robotic parts, and I noticed it getting a bit wobbly. As soon as it was done, I detached, and quickly deorbitted the kraken's next meal.
  22. I'm scrolling through the crafts, looking for my Duna buggy, when I see the Dynawing. I read it as "Dyin-yao wing." Then, I heard Scott Manley say, "Dine-uh wing"
