  1. Here is my submission for the Jool 5 Challenge!!! I designed the entire ship myself, and the mission took three tries to complete successfully. I've been playing the game for only about ten months, and this has been my crowning achievement in Kerbal Space Program. https://imgur.com/gallery/HdaZgQH
  2. Does the ship itself have to land on every moon, or can I have the Kerbal do an EVA to land on Pol (and maybe Bop)?
  3. Thanks for the tip. I ended up making my own forum post (and I managed to get the logs with Dropbox).
  4. The instructions here say to delete the settings.cfg file before launching the game. I see two, though, one called settings.cfg and one called Settings that is a CFG file. I delete them both, but once I launch the game, the Settings CFG file reappears. Is this supposed to happen? What happens when this settings.cfg file isn't deleted before launching? I've had such issues with KSRSS (I've never even gotten to play it, they're so bad), and I wonder if this settings.cfg file might have something to do with it. I was looking at the main page for this thread, and it appears that the creator, tony48, says he intends to update it to 1.11. Just didn't say when.
  5. It would? All you have to do is go to your steam library, click properties, and select 1.8.1 under Beta versions.
  6. I got v33 (using Microsoft Edge instead of Chrome), but still no luck. My logs keep giving me the same endless series of "object reference not set to instance of object" or something, as well as "index was outside the bounds of the array." The output log shows a crash report saying that it "failed to load body: Ceres" and it seems to just fall apart after that. Does anyone know what to do about any of those three recurring phrases in my log?
  7. I tried doing this, but any version I download that's past v28 gives me that "may be dangerous" message, and the downloaded file itself is a weird CRDOWNLOADED file...so I tried 1.10.1 v28, but now the game loads with only the stock planets (which to me implies that Kopernicus isn't working). I've basically seen two alternative ways the launch can go after all the fixes I've tried: 1) Kopernicus doesn't work, in which case the game loads successfully but only has the stock planets, or 2) Kopernicus apparently works (judging by the fact that all the KSRSS bodies pop up in my log), but according to the log the game has some issue loading the bodies and totally goes off the rails. Always the same phrase: NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object
  8. https://www.dropbox.com/s/fxx5kkknxswqdct/Log.pdf?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/7byypj9nl0n1wj4/Player.pdf?dl=0 I tried getting 1.8.1-1, per the instructions on the original KSRSS forum post, but then I got stuck on the black loading screen (while the title music plays), like before. My logs are above; according to another forum user, it's stuck in some sort of loop and so it will never advance past the loading screen.
  9. I tried to get it off of GitHub, and I get a banner saying, "Kopernicus-1.8.1-30.zip is not commonly downloaded and may be dangerous." Can you vouch for the safety of the v30 Kopernicus from GitHub? I got it from here: https://github.com/Kopernicus/Kopernicus/releases
  10. They're the names of the .zip folders I originally downloaded (I just used them since they show the version number); I extracted the contents of their respective GameData folders and put them in the KerbalSpaceProgram\GameData folder. Try these: KSP Log: https://www.dropbox.com/s/gdior9nwq3pozux/KSP Log.pdf?dl=0 Output Log ("Player"): https://www.dropbox.com/s/2x4q3st9bb0jgfk/Output Log 2-10.pdf?dl=0
  11. Update on my post from yesterday: I realized that I had the mod folders inside the Steam version of KSP, so I moved the KerbalSpaceProgram folder onto my desktop and moved the mods into there. Now my file directory looks like Desktop --> KerbalSpaceProgram --> GameData , and inside GameData are my mod folders: - Kopernikus - 1.8.1-28 - KSRSS - 0.6.1 - KSRSS Textures 8K - 0.6.1 - MechJeb2 - 2.12.0.0 - Modular Flight Integrator To the best of my knowledge, these mods are all up to date (that is, the proper version for KSRSS to work. My game is also 1.8.1). The problem now is that, while I'm now able to play the game, KSRSS appears not to have taken effect—I'm still looking at all the stock planets. Here are my logs from the last time I tried to run the game: - https://file.io/nzgbZEbofDxO - https://file.io/PoA2YsUQjsxq Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
  12. Okay, so according to the logs, Kopernikus and KSRSS seem to be working, huh? All right, I'll start asking in the KSRSS thread, hopefully they've seen this before. Thanks a lot!
  13. Do those file.io links work? Those are my newest logs, from the launch upon which I discovered that the stock solar system is still there. And yep, CKAN is using 1.8.1.
  14. Right, I reverted back to 1.8.1 before installing KSRSS and its dependencies. I also have Kopernicus v1.8.1.
  15. I used Dropbox with total success last night to create a link to my files, but now I can't figure it out. The files I uploaded last night appear as .txt files on my home page, and there's a "Share" button I can hit, which then gives me the option to "Copy link." But the ones I'm uploading now don't appear on my home screen. I go to All Files, and they're there, but the "Share" button is nowhere to be found, so I can't get the link. Also, they're uploading as .log files instead of .txt, even though the files themselves are originally .txt. Yeah, I'm starting from the KSP folder now on my desktop. How to I check to see what CKAN thinks is my current instance? Does it even matter, since I don't have any CKAN mods on there? See if you can access these: https://file.io/nzgbZEbofDxO https://file.io/PoA2YsUQjsxq
  16. I'm not sure what you mean by change compatibility settings; what's that have to do with CKAN? I ran the Steam check and it said "1 file could not be verified and will be reacquired." Then nothing else appears to happen; is Steam reacquiring that file automatically when I launch the game next or something? Okay. Good news: the game loads and I can actually play. Bad news: it's still just the stock solar system. My latest logs look quite different from last time... I'm trying to figure out how to post them on here, which I did last time with DropBox, but suddenly I can't figure out how to do it...hopefully these .pdf links will work. file:///C:/Users/Brady%20West/Documents/Output%20Log%202-10.pdf file:///C:/Users/Brady%20West/Documents/KSP%20Log.pdf
  17. Okay, so I did all that, but I Ctrl+Xed my KerbalSpaceProgram folder instead of Ctrl+Cing it. I just put it back exactly where it was (...steamapps\common); am I still okay? I do have CKAN, and I like it for its auto-installation, but I find it pretty limited the number of mods it offers. It doesn't have KSRSS or any of its dependencies, so I had to get those from GitHub and manually install them (which took a few tries to get right).
  18. I checked my graphics driver, and the laptop says that I already have the best one. Is there another way to mitigate the effects of that d3d11 texture error? I haven't experienced major graphics errors in the past (excluding during physics warp, but that's for another post...), so might it be all right the way it is if I already have the best driver?
  19. Well that makes sense, since I'm certainly a mod rookie... So, if I understand you correctly, I should: 1. Delete all the mod folders that I have inside the steamapps\common\KerbalSpaceProgram\GameData folder 2. Go into Steam library --> Properties --> verify integrity of game files 3. Copy the folder called Kerbal Space Program (the one inside the ...Steam\steamapps\common folder), and move it to somewhere outside the steamapps folder, somewhere like the desktop (should I delete the version inside the steamapps folder to keep from confusing the computer when I launch the game?) 4. Redownload the mods, then copy them from my Downloads folder—or, in my case, the .zip files are still in my Downloads folder, so I could just use those—into the KerbalSpaceProgram\GameData folder, which is now located outside the Steam folder Is that correct?
  20. KSP Log: https://www.dropbox.com/s/i6am69ocolt33gn/KSP Log.txt?dl=0 Output Log ("Player"): https://www.dropbox.com/s/jvb13gsm2c3im45/KSP Output Log.txt?dl=0 Here are the logs (I utilized Dropbox). Scrolling through them, there are definitely plenty of "exceptions..." maybe you can make sense of them! In both files, I see thousands of instances of NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object And the KSP log also contains IndexOutOfRangeException: Index was outside the bounds of the array. which looks very similar to a line that was found in another post I saw from August 2018 in which the poster was having the exact same issue as I am. My only mods are: -Kopernicus (KSRSS dependent) - 1.8.1-28 -KSRSS - 0.6.1 -KSRSS Textures 8K (KSRSS dependent) - 0.6.1 -MechJeb2 - 2.12.0.0 -Modular Flight Integrator To the best of my knowledge, these are all compatible with each other.
  21. I just put KSRSS onto my game (and I had to revert to version 1.8.1 to do so), and now the game won't launch. Once the loading bar fills and says, "Expansion Loading Complete!", the game goes to the dark screen with the little spinning planets in the corner, and just stays there indefinitely. The tiny planets just go on revolving the little sun, and the title screen never comes up (unlike before I put the mod on, when it worked just fine). This goes on for at least twenty minutes (at which point I quit and close it) with no sign of change. Anybody know why or what can be done? The game isn't frozen, because it's gotten stuck on the loading screen before and when that happens the little planets are also frozen in place. What's happening now appears to be the computer perpetually loading and loading but never finishing. I don't think it's a hardware problem, since I successfully installed and run RSS and RO just a couple of months ago. I'm trying to post my game logs (including the crash logs), but I can't figure out how to attach a link to them (pastebin is not working, and anything else I try to use crashes when I inundate it with the sheer volume of text). How do I do that?
  22. I just reverted my game to 1.8.1 so I could install KSRSS, and now when I launch the game, it gets hung up on the black loading screen. You know, the one right before the title screen with the spinning planets in the bottom-right corner. The game isn't frozen--the little planets are spinning, the main title music even comes on--but it just never moves past that loading screen. I'm trying to paste my logs, but pastebin won't do it. Any other ideas?
  23. I'm having the exact same issue as the OP as well (stuck on black loading screen, with theme music, not frozen, just never progresses), but I can't figure out if it's the "array index out of range thing." I'm trying to post my KSP log and output log, but I can't figure out how (Pastebin keeps crashing, is there another way?). I also tried the fix that 4x4 Cheesecake suggested, but my GPU is an AMD product, not Nvidia, so I don't think it'll work for me. Note that this has never happened until today, immediately following my install of KSRSS, for which I had to revert to game version 1.8.1. Could that have something to do with it?
  24. I just put KSRSS onto my laptop, but now the game won't launch. It goes through the whole loading screen, then gets stuck on the black screen (with the little planets in the bottom-right corner), and even plays the theme music, but never progresses to the title screen. I deleted settings.cfg before launching, but as soon as I launch the game, the file just reappears. Is that supposed to happen? Is that even related to my eternal-black-loading-screen problem?
