I upscaled the background scatter on today’s leek so I could see it better, and it honestly makes me believe that the scatter density in KSP2 will be more like parallax than we think, I just think that there’s areas on the surfaces of planets that have less scatter. (The Minmus plains and the open deserts on dune etc… ) but on other screenshots we’ve seen extremely dense scatter on the rocky bodies like Gilly.

    Kerbin's surface is still barren.

I would like to believe they do that for performance purposes? The game is still yet to reach a fully optimized state so it would make sense for them to avoid rendering trees and other ground scatter/vegetation until the game reaches peak performance. We will likely have to wait until EA release to actually see trees if they even exist at all.

  3. First and foremost, I’m going to hop into a single player “creative” world and take a look at all of the new parts in all of their glory.

After that I plan on making a multiplayer game where me and my friend/friends will start from scratch and compete over who can colonize the most of the galaxy.

Although plans may change, we currently intend on playing a sort of interstellar strategy game with KSP’s realistic physics. We will have IPBMs (Interplanetary ballistic missile) along with orbital strike platforms and  battleships.

Separately from the combat, we also plan on having alliances and a fully functional economy for trading and buying resources.

  4. I don’t think the game will release when the ship lands, but I definitely think it’s gonna be the last video along with a release date. I hope the feature vid will be about multiplayer but we will just have to wait and see, I speculate 3 months at latest before we get the next video.

I'm inclined to believe there will definitely be more than 2 star systems. That said can you reference where you get your claim as I don't recall the devs ever stating anything like that.

I would reference it if I remember, I’ll have to look but I believe it was one of the early interviews or maybe in PC gamers article.

The line from the video - 'a single pixel, but its a star you can visit' (or however it was said) certainly gave me that idea of freedom to do such... but logically, I don't think so.  They've been pretty open about having built two systems for exploration; the one we are used to and the new one that's reachable end-game.  Anything more would be likely hideously difficult to do.  I'm guessing we only get to go to the nearest.

The devs have stated that there will be up to at least 4 star systems at one point. It’s definitely not only going to be kerbol and Dubdub.

  7. If we assume that the game is finished or at least the advertisement campaign starts when the craft in the end of the video lands on the mun, we can assume that there is one or two more videos at most before we get a release date. At the pace it’s going right now, it may be 3 months at most before we get some serious hype fuel on a regular schedule.

Destructible terrain (holes in the ground when landing caused by engine too close, explosion craters)

While I doubt this will happen, it definitely seems that destructible/physics based surface scatter is within the realm of possibility, it would add to the immersion a substantial amount if you crashed a plane in a forest and you left a path of collapsed trees.

  9.         I would love to have the ability to place colony parts on interstellar ships, either the ability to place a limited selection of colony parts, or any. I feel like this would make the creation of huge, cool looking ships a lot easier. If this were to be implemented, I’d assume you could only do this from a space port but who knows, it’s kerbal.

If this has already been confirmed or discussed, I haven’t heard so I’ve made this.

Is the deep resource scanner a ship part, a large station part (by large station, I mean the ones that we can launch ships from) or a colony part?

Also, the geothermal plant output should be dependent on location (more energy if near a volcano) and there should be a regularly changing wind speed for all places on each planet/moon with atmosphere that determines the turbine output together with the pressure.

I also noticed that the rocket launched from the orbital launch clamps in the test scene is the same as the one in the trailer.

From the looks of it right now, this part will probably be a ship and colony part, we are not 100% sure though so everything is speculation.

  11. I’ve tried to avoid this thread for a while as it can get pretty heated but it seems calm right now. On the MMO topic, it would be cool if this was true but I don’t imagine the game like this, I imagine  4-5 player ran space agencies. Trading could be done by landing at someone’s trading outpost or even docking to a ship or station. I think wars will definitely happen, as a matter of fact, me and my friends will be harboring war in our server whenever it comes out. We will have merchants and war lords and such. I think this is where the MMO could shine, having people playing their own style in a vast galactic environment, working with each other and forming alliances and teams. It would be a good way to see how people would govern themselves in a position of power, I think either type of multiplayer would work.
