  1. I just updated the FAR to the latest version (https://github.com/dkavolis/Ferram-Aerospace-Research/releases/tag/v0.16.1.0_Marangoni), I found out that the FAR analysis UI tool now is relying on the incorrect center of mass, however it is flying like usual. I noticed I might not be alone, a similar bug is filed against FAR here: https://github.com/dkavolis/Ferram-Aerospace-Research/issues/140

I am wondering whether this is the right place to report such issue and get it resolved.

  2. Seeing errors:

    [LOG 14:43:49.276] Applying update RealFuels-Stock/Bluedog_DB/RF_BDB_Vega/@PART[bluedog_Vega_EngineMount]:FOR[RealFuels_StockEngines] to Bluedog_DB/Parts/Vega/bluedog_Vega_EngineMount.cfg/PART[bluedog_Vega_EngineMount]

Dig a little bit deeper, the issue is that the EngineMount does not have RCS port, so it shouldn't have any thrust power adjustment.
These adjustment should be on one of the Vega fuel tank. It seems to me that the RF_BEB_Vega.cfg directly from GitHub is actually fine, so I just directly copy RF_BEB_Vega.cfg to overwrite the released one and no more error. Isn't this going to be in the next release?  I noticed that the correct changes were actually in even before the current release.

  3. Really love your mood, I am on 1.22, and it seems to be working flawlessly. One thing though, the drymass balance is horrible for cryogenic engines. They are basically useless now, worse than their liquid fuel counterparts. I think you were right to think about removing it as quoted below,I can have a PR to remove it, or at least to have it in extra as an option.

@Apricot I'm not sure when or why this was added, but looking back this is probably right. If you want to (and if you’d be able to) can you create a PR for that on git?

  4. Anybody else ran into the RealChute recovery? Using a fresh 1.12 KSP, and only put in RealChute, KCT, and scrapyard (with their dependencies).

Here is how to reproduce the error:

    1. Start a new game
    2. Any part with a parachute (realchute)
    3. Fly and Recover to VAB using KCT
    4. Use KCT to edit the same ship just recovered

I did asked for help in realchute side, but after testing this, this is quite not exclusive to realchute issue. So I come here for some help.

  5. Having the following error when using with Kerbal Construction Time and Scrapyard, after I recovered the ship I attempted to edit the ship from KCT UI, the parachute was not recognized and thus became a new part, checked the logs, the following error appeared:

    Related error:

[ERR 13:40:53.508] Module ProceduralChute threw during OnStart: System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object

I saw some MM patch for RealChute in KCT, so I assume the parachute should be properly "reset", but the issue seems to be caused by this ProceduralParachute.

So, this is incorrect. Most parts are still not replicated across other mods. Also, I've updated the mod for newer KSP versions.

For all that are having issues, please make sure that you have the latest version, which is the latest Github repository, link in OP. If you get the mod anywhere else, it will be out of date.

The latest version does not require Firespitter, you can use a B9.

Did just that, directly downloaded the Github repo and used B9PartSwitch instead, everything is working, thank you!

  7. I am under the impression that BDB has compatibility config for RemoteTech that adds 3km omni antenna to all probes, but it doesn't seem to be working in the latest update with Kerbal 1.12.2. When launched, unless I put on an antenna (which makes some of the small probes looks ridiculous), the probe is still showing not connected, thus no control. Does anyone else run into this issue?

  8. Is there something wrong with the aerodynamic of the parts?

There is no drag difference between having the cone and not (checked by flight recorder), so the drag is incredibly high (800m/s drag loss even with the nose cone). Also, the WAC corporal rocket does not have natural gravity turn as if it is not guided by airflow and its drag is way too high too.

Edit: False alarm, stupid me, I put an antenna between two components and that just mess up the DragCube.

  9. Tested this with KSP 1.12.2,  besides the firesplitter is too stale for 1.12, I am also seeing an issue that prevented me from loading the game (stuck at the loading screen), anybody else is running into this too?

  10. I have also the nullreference spam, this is happening when the 2nd ship (controlled by KOS) with a kerbal leaving outside of the physics simulation range (where KOS failed too),  The main ship does not have a kerbal in it (1st stage). It is possible, but its a bit annoying to do since the save button in the Scatterer GUI doesn't actually save. I can walk you through it though:

    1. View Kerbin in-game and press Alt+F11 to pull up the Scatterer GUI:

    J3T0Oay.png

    2. Press the 'right' arrow at the top of the GUI to select Config point 1 (the upper-most config point):

    QLsxy2D.png

    3. Locate 'Extinction Tint (scaled+local)' and 'Extinction Thickness (scaled+local)':

    HQTY6XJ.png
Mess around with these values and press 'Set' to make the changes visible in game. Once you get values you like, remember them but do not press ' Save atmo'. This doesn't actually save, and instead might be breaking things unseen.

    4. Open the Scatterer config for Kerbin's atmosphere, located at 'Kerbal Space Program\GameData\Spectra\Spectra_scatterer\Planets\Kerbin\atmos.cfg' and scroll down to config point 1 (The last item/item with an altitude of 250000):

    rfImqJl.png
Replace the values of 'extinctionThickness = 2.5' and 'extinctionTint = 1.5' with the variables you want, then press save to make these changes permanent. [note, do not mess with skyExtinctionTint, this is something else]

Done! You have now changed the extinction tint and thickness of the top most config point of Kerbin, changing the red-ness on the planets extinction. I hope this helps?

    It works, thank you!

The solution proposed by gotmachine will be tested after I kick 0.0.7.8 through the door.

Trying to follow the discussions here, does this mean that the space center / FMRS recovery is gonnat wait a little bit? It also sounds like a breaking change from the developer, should we file a bug to the developer too (then it may break whatever you guys did here), your call.

  13. I am having issues to get the correct cash recovered in career mode using the cryotank mod.

I am running 1.11.2 and the mod works fine, but I realized that the money from 100% recovery is inflated for LH2/OX tank and heavily discounted for LCH4/OX tank.  E.g., the basic 1.25m tank FL-T1100 costs $104 when empty,  when loaded with LH2/OX, I can recover $126 out of it, but when loaded with Methane/LOX, I can only recover $54 for it.

Is this also an issue for anyone else? Thanks!

I have delete all the external mods except for the cryogenic tank/engine.  Was there some kind of config that could cause this?
