  1. 8/10 I see you a lot lately. Especially in the Lounge. You're very astute!
  2. I'd go for "Campus Martius". It means: "field of Mars" in Latin. Apparently it was a very crowded place in old Rome, so being the first settlement, it's bound to be on Mars as well.
  3. At first I read dog butter. I need to get out more...
  4. Look closely. There are four. You can see the clipping-gliches inside the exhaust nozzles. But other than that, I must say, awesome machine! It looks sleek for a big boy, no wing-spam (haha) for bodywork, and by the looks of it functional too. Props to you!
  5. The second in KSP should be a Kerbin-centered quantity too as a second is derrived from a minute, minute from an hour and an hour from a day. The day being of course derived from a full rotation of Kerbin. But I think that'll really mess with everyone's brains, not to mention that the measurement of time will be different on every body you visit...
  6. Granted, though the atmosphere inside the observatory is a vacuum. I wish I knew what to wish for right now. (it's easier to corrupt someone's wish than to come up with one yourself, eh?)
  7. The first half of your wish gets cancelled out by the second inverted part, thereby neutralizing it. I wish the trees around my house don't drop their leaves on my propertah!
  8. As the second is the base unit for time, and as I like standardization, I like the thought of this. Second, kilosecond, megasecond, etc. Much the same way that I think people should refer to a million euro's: 1 megaeuro. Though people are a fickle species and will call stuff: the way it sounds more nice to them and/or the more they hear it being said.
  9. In the past I've had a lot of Logitech joysticks. From simple ones to an expensive force feedback model. But they all died on me at some point. In most there're no metal parts to speak of, so slop develops very fast. Their service was good though, but it's still a hassle to get your product fixed/replaced. I cannot recommend Logitech joysticks. I second Trustmaster & CH products though. I've heard lots of good things from them.
  10. Ah yeah, these are great! I'm going to print and frame one for in my hobby-room. Or maybe two... Good find, thanks!
  11. Can you give us a pic of the state of the vehicle when it reaches 10Km? I'm guessing it has shed some stage(s) at that point in the flight. Though from what I can tell already, I see a lot of draggy parts at the top (solar panels, etc) and only a few tailfins at the bottom that probably get discarded. Balance of draggy bits is key.
  12. It also depends on what operating system you have running in the background. Vista, for example, is a known memory hog and can take all that precious RAM away all by itself. If I want to run a game of which I know needs lots of RAM, Minecraft for instance, I shut down all unnecessary programs (printer, browsers, office, updaters, etc). You'll be amazed how much resources some programs need.

    VTOL

Oh yeah! Did the same thing on Kerbin with an early career plane when I had no wheeled gear unlocked. I had to flip the thing around and then land on it's tail. Needless to say that it was indeed very hard to do so with the controls getting flipped as well.

    VTOL

Thrust vectoring is your answer. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thrust_vectoring I've seen this thing done with a model Mig-29OVT as well. The real things couldn't do that, neither the prop- nor the jet-planes. Still, pretty impressive although a little weird looking.
  15. I don't know about that. There's a big amount of video's around of Frank flying on that hoverboard. It would be very difficult to fake them all. Then there're journalists that have witnessed the event(s). Also, horizontal flight was already possible with similar "RC-jets" and that was some years ago. It's not crazy to think that the technology has advanced to allow vertical flight. But time will tell if it's the real deal or not.
  16. While I think our 3 birds are pretty smart, the old male among them can certainly not recognize himself in the mirror. Rather, he thinks he sees another female and proceeds to court "her". But we love him anyway...
  17. Well, I don't know about the flag-thing, but the decaying-orbit-bug was confirmed squashed in the last devnotes. Jay!
  18. I use the Roccat Kone Pure with the color scheme you see here from my girlfriend. It was succesfully won by her. She had to convince the judges why she thought she deserved it. Something to do with being a girl gamer. Looks sexy eh? Now it has some smudges running where the edges of our fingers rest... I must say, I've had my share of mice, from Logitech to Razer and some inbetween, but I like the ones from Roccat the best! Good hardware and software.
  19. My flag and avatar from the previous forums that seems to be horizontally shrunken. Gotta fix that someday...
  20. Curiously, I had an almost perfect track record of crashless plays on pre 1.1 versions. Perhaps in part because I almost never installed any mods and/or build humongous monsters.
  21. Best of luck in your next endeavor Felipe. I'm proud to have been there to see the develpment of your dream-game from the early stages onward. Sad to see you leave the KSP team, but life goes on and new prospects loom over the horizon, so grab them and don't let go.
  22. You know, I was always in the "update when it comes out" camp. But lately, I've been thinking more and more of going back to old 1.0.5. The orbit decay bug especially is seriously screwing up my rendezvous attempts.
  23. My girlfriend didn't understand everything, but she sure did like the jokes. I, on the other hand, had to keep myself from wanting to explain everything. In the end we enjoyed ourselves watching this. Good movie!
  24. Well I have this probe-core without SAS whatsoever hanging in space right now that rather likes its gimballed engine. Sure, it's trajectory is imprecise, but it's light and costs almost nothing.
