  1. Radiant, a California-based company founded by former SpaceX engineers, has received $ 1.2 million in investment to further develop and manufacture compact nuclear reactors. They are positioned to replace diesel generators. Deciding that the ideas intended for the development of Mars would be more useful for the population of the Earth, the company began to create a budget microreactor that could fit in a regular shipping container. The megawatt model will be capable of powering up to 1,000 homes and is expected to use helium for cooling instead of water. The main places of use are remote settlements, zones of natural or other disasters, and military bases. The reactor is said to be capable of providing power to the base for eight years before nuclear fuel runs out. This will not only avoid harmful emissions from conventional diesel generators - there will be no need for a regular supply of diesel fuel bases. Transportation of fuel will be needed, but only to provide transport with an internal combustion engine until all equipment switches to alternative power sources. According to Radiant, the company's fuel does not melt and can withstand higher temperatures than conventional reactor fuel cells. The use of helium significantly reduces the risks of corrosion, refrigerant boiling and contamination. The company says it has patented ideas related to refueling reactors and efficiently converting reactor heat. Radiant has joined a fairly large number of companies already developing compact nuclear reactors. Only a small number of them specialize in truly “micro-solutions”. However, no one has yet succeeded in creating a truly compact, inexpensive and long-lasting alternative to diesel generators.
  2. To be honest, you'd better finish creating a steam account. Probably later you'll need to buy something else (I mean videogame) and steam is a go-to do a thing. Hands down the best store out there, but yeah at the start it's not very convenient to set up, but still worth doing it.
  3. We need MORE emotes to the god of emotions. Jokes away but this refresh is nice tho
  4. > Focus on quality and being bug free Yes, yes, yes please! That's a thing which almost every gaming company/studio lack nowdays. List is endles of the projects who failed to optimize their game: cyberpunk, baldur's gate, new world etc. That's very obvius that if KSP2 will be polished and ready to play product, that would be a win for us players and for developers.
  5. It's a great, for sure will get copy of it to test it out on a modern platfrom. Should be a great experience.
  6. I'll play as I used to as a sandbox game. There is no reason to me change it, I'd even improved my experience by adding my friends there but multiplayer is not that good. That's also an addition for the topic what do we need in KSP2.
  7. 4K resolution is not a must have thing. Especially on a Steam Deck. Yes, I ment KSP1 but there will be no reason for KSP2 not to work on this platform. Basicaly, it's depends on Valve not developvers, they do not have do anything to port their product on a Steam Deck, because it's literally a small PC.
  8. Overall NASA is a niche in a pop culture. At the same time Space X is a product of a pop culture despite the fact that SpaceX is doing really great thing you can see in the internet. I'd prefer SpaceX becuase of their media quality, but in general the best is a union of SpaceX and NASA in my opinion.
  9. Well, according to the youtube reviews there is no reason for KSP not to be on a steamdeck. There is no specific ports for the games on this platform, so logicaly we can come to conclusion that this is going to be pretty easily accessable on this console. Nothing to worry about I guess.
  10. This is also can be iconic for this game. I mean if you remember or just know any of these series: Tekken 3, Witcher 3, Oblivion etc. - they are because of gameplay, but also for the iconic theme music. They can mix different genres like classic, folk, techno music etc. I wish that kind of iconic music will be in KSP 2.
  11. Sure, you can use mods, glitches and exploits. All goes if you want to have fun in game haha
  12. Most likely in this regard, we'll see music for each planet and probably some different (random or rare) events. It also depends on budget and how much money they want to invest in this part of the game. Of course, that would be a great addition to the atmosphere to have there different types of songs this and there but who knows what it will be in the release. I bet that we will do something we discussed there but do not expect too much from devs in this regard. They should focus on other things more, to be honest with you.
  13. Interesting to see that happening for the fifth time. There were only four missions on asteroids and they were done by different USA and Japan at different times. The first one was NEAR Shoemaker by the USA in 2001, the second and the third were sent by the USA and Japan in the same year of 2005 and the last one was sent in 2018 by Japan. And now UAE will send SEVEN missions to the asteroids. It's a huge plan, but they have all the resources to do that.
  14. You are right, thats was mentioned in early inrewiev. We do not know is it still a thing, but hope if they mentioned it, then that's true.
  15. Hey, man! Welcome to the ship! This forum is so friendly and usefull, so feel free to chat there
  16. Best of luck! Thanks for all your amazing work you'd putted in the product!
  17. Check out all the mods one by one. Probably one of the mods do not work probably with the other mod. It's a common thing with modding, so you better check them out.
  18. Additionaly to this news and topic there are some interesting info about the film. The plot of the film provides for a flight to the International Space Station, which is scheduled for the fall of 2021 on the Russian manned spacecraft Soyuz MS. The main character of the film, who will fly to the ISS, and his understudy will be determined by the results of an open competition. The title of the film has not yet been confirmed. Also, they are coming about at 17 of October I belive, so the editing starts soon, I guess.
  19. Every developer who loves his game will do such a thing. There is no doubt we have such developers there. So that's just a matter of amount. The new project should not be full of references, easter eggs, and retrospectives in general, but why we would not have some nostalgic stuff? I feel that we definitely will have some.
  20. Check out this thread of our forum. The guy explained every control of the game, so you should fine finding what you need. It've been posted 5 years ago, so info can be outdated but still no one posted this thread. There you go:
  21. Great to hear you've fixed your problem. Would type you to check out earlier version of the game, but well, you've managed to find this tip yourself. Anyways, enjoy your time :)
  22. Well, if we are talking about personal preferences so here is my list of my top mods you should try to use: - MechJeb 2; - Kerbal Engineer Redux; - Kerbal Attachment System; - BD Armory. Usefull and entertaining mods which most of you should at least check them out
  23. I would recommend using the active texture manager (if you are using mods that's just a MUST HAVE option. I used to have the same situation with my old laptop and it kinda fixed it. FPS grew up from 20 to 30-35 fps. Of course, they are not that stable as I wanted them to be, but it became more playable. Your processor is not that good for this game, but at least this option has to do something for you. Check it out.
  24. Thanks for the quick answer! Yep, communtity there from what I've seen there so far are pretty friendly! I'll try out your tips
