    I think what will really 'save' KSP2 is: "this mode will allow for resource collection and utilization, as well as the establishment of automated resource delivery routes. We want you to be able to continue the campaigns you start in December through all future colony, interstellar, and resource-gathering updates." The entirely redone resource system will, I think, make or break KSP2. The update(s) that resource collection / colonies comes out will be massive. Because it is system rebuilt entirely on the backend there is guaranteed to be bugs - we'll see if the community is patient enough to let the devs fix the eventual bugs or if they flip-out instead. It is going to be tough to implement a resource system which works well with the new colony system, is favorable for the modding community.

    Excited to see the Science Sr. and everything else this update will bring. I'll need to recreate the mission in my thumbnail to update it to the gorgeous KSP2 heat-effects graphics.

    would really like to see surface bases with actual purposes. something i wish was in ksp1 :(

    Welcome newbie!

    KSP2 is a successor to KSP1 in which you can build rockets/planes and fly them. It has better graphics than the first game but less content in its current state.

    sandbox wise it doesn’t exactly have less content than KSP1 since it has all the celestials, but there are some parts missing elsewhere.

    The main thing is that KSP2 is very buggy, so i suggest to get KSP1 first as it’s less expensive, requires less system requirements, has little bugs, has a lot of mods to make the game much better (highly recommended) and you never know when KSP2 will actually work properly.

  3. Sneak peek into update 1.3.0!

    New bodies:

    Vera Moons

    Innermost moon: Tiny moonlet in the rings. Very small SOI and high delta-v due to its orbital velocity.

    Middle moon: Small (between 105010 and 105020 sized) moon in the major ring gap. Probably the largest it can get without messing with the rings.

    Outer moon: Medium sized moon about twice the size of the middle moon (Mun sized) orbiting at a moderate distance from Vera. Meant to resemble the Mun.

    109000's second moon: A vall-like object with blue terrain. Extremely Vall-like, Canyon sized

    106030: heavy moon, extremely mountainous. 0.60g and 1100km of radius. Orbits far from 106000. (114Mm)

    Probably a desert world orbiting perbi

    I'd have to say more diversity in parts and having some basic mods included in the game, like Near Future Technologies and Better Time Warp.

    I would say that I would really like Gas Planet 2 and others, but honestly the stock system doesn't suck. Maybe include OPM or QuackPack into the base game?

    OPM deserves to be in KSP. It’s of a similar quality as stock and has real analogs.

    quackpack should not be in ksp, since the planets are too high quality to blend in with stock and do not have any real analogs.

    also, they may drive attention of Eve due to their difficulty.

  5. Laythe’s atmosphere is actually thicker than Kerbin’s at 20-40km, due to reduced gravity! However, due to the lack of realism atmosphere height, it’s atmosphere is shorter than kerbin.

    Also, a realistic eve atmosphere is 3x shorter than the current one and at the highest peaks, pressure is 1/3 that of kerbin.

  6. try replacing the 'Eve' cfg with this:

    i was unable to fix the atmo bug, sorry

    @Kopernicus:AFTER[Hadean]
    {
        @Body[Eve]
        {
            PostSpawnOrbit
            {
                @referenceBody = Hadean
                @semiMajorAxis = 5192000
                @eccentricity = 0.004
                @inclination = 0.5
            }
        }
        @Body[Gilly]
        {
            PostSpawnOrbit
            {
                @referenceBody = Hadean
                @semiMajorAxis = 44760000
                @eccentricity = 0.297
                @inclination = 33.7
            }
        }
    }

    After looking at everything I have found a few issues, eve is all the way out at duna, the atmosphere is not visible, inside the atmosphere the ground turns dark purple and thats all I have found.

    Interesting. I'll increase the atmosphere height. The atmo probably wsasn't visible because of high terrain and inside the atmosphere I accidentally used the wrong filepath. Will re-upload

    Also, I don't know how eve got all the way out there. Can you send a screenshot of the problem?

  8. https://spacedock.info/mod/3478/Hadean

    Remarks: I finished late at night and didn't have time to playtest so i'll troubleshoot if anything goes wrong.

    hadean ended up being so large it wasn't really in a good binary orbit. Without a working sigma binary, I was unable to make the binary yet, i'll try tmr.

    polar terrain is weird because I was in a rush finishing this.

    The atmosphere is short and terrain is high specifically to make the body landable at high altitudes.
