  2. Hello Kerbonauts!

This week, the KSP2 Weekly Challenge is Land on Duna.

    Challenge5_Duna_Landscape.png

    • Primary: Land a vehicle (crewed or uncrewed) on Duna.
    • Stretch: Land a crew on Duna, then return them safely to Kerbin.
    • Jeb Level: Land a crew on Ike, take a picture of them with Duna visible in the background. Then land them on Duna and take a picture of them with Ike in the background. Then fly them all home to Kerbin.
    • Val Level (Watney Edition): Land an empty Kerbin return vehicle on one of Duna's polar ice caps. Land a crew somewhere other than the ice caps. Drive that crew, using either a wheeled or aerial vehicle, from the second landing site to the first one. Then return to Kerbin.

    Happy Launching!

I like the feedback submission through the launcher. However, when I start the game normally the launcher closes automatically. One method to have the launcher remain open while the game is running is to launch the game through steam which will start the launcher, but do not then play the game from the launcher. Instead, start the game from the executable in the steam directory: Steam\steamapps\common\Kerbal Space Program 2\KSP2_x64.exe. Now I can submit feedback through the launcher while playing the game.

Please let me know if there's an easier way.

(I tried starting the launcher executable directly but none of the executables in AppData\Local\PD Launcher\ seem to do the trick)

Thanks for the feedback! Having the launcher stay open tends to affect computer performance, as mentioned by a lot of players when we first implemented it for KSP1. We'll look into the best option for players submit feedback while in game.

This is quite concerning, It sounds like you are saying that if I want to give you feedback I have to buy the game, and submit feed back thru the launcher. You mention vaguely defined " community channels", but only specifically mention feedback thru the launcher.  You came to the suggestions forum, where somebody would presumably give their feedback and ideas to tell people that they should submit their ideas thru the game  That  does seem to suggest that you don't want people giving their feed back here, or that you aren't interested in feedback from here.

I hope that is not the case, but it is a bit of a head scratcher, How should someone go about giving you feedback about why they're not buying the game when the only specific place you mention to give feedback is thru the game?

We're still listening and gathering feedback from all channels! And if you have KSP1, then you already have access to the launcher and can submit feedback using the feedback button.  What we wanted was to have an official channel for feedback to come through that the devs can review. We community managers are only human, and sometimes we don't see everything, so if we didn't have an official channel things would get missed.

  7. Hello!

If you recently received an email to reset your password, please do not be alarmed. Lately some previously dormant user accounts have been posting spam on the forums, and as a precaution we have requested all dormant accounts to reset their passwords. We apologize for any concern this may have caused.

If you have any questions please feel free to message me.

  8. Hello!

As a security measure, all dormant accounts were requested to reset their passwords. This is not due to a breach or anything of that nature, there have been some users accounts that have been compromised in other places (likely because they use the same password for multiple sites)  and these accounts have been posting spam messages to the forums. In anticipation of KSP2's launch, we felt it best to make sure that dormant accounts had their passwords reset.

If you have any further questions, please feel free to message me!

PS: The tutorial mentions "gravity turn" but does not explain it.

And I'm not ashamed to say I've never done a gravity turn. I always manually controlled craft on ascent. I just now understood that you have to pitch and then lock to prograde instead of using WASD. Thanks @rmaine for making me curious!

@Ghostii_Spaceplease pass on that we need a dedicated tutorial on what is and how to do a gravity turn. I've wasted so many hours and so much energy on manually controlling ascent until now. :(

    Thanks for calling it out!
