  1. I'll commit to the game when its done. No more waiting for lies.
  2. Oh thanks for sharing, yeah I’ll still be on the forums for KSP 1 stuff but I will check in on KSP 2 once and awhile. Have a good day See ya later, Azigator Yeah the release was unacceptable. We can all say that. It’s sad
  3. Remember the days when we eagerly checked the forums for dev updates on KSP 2? Remember the amazing teasers they showed us? Remember the anticipation of a true successor to KSP 1, that would make all other space flight sim games be reduced to obscurity? I remember it so clearly. I love KSP 1 dearly, I remember fond days of playing the game on my 2012 MacBook, having to turn down all the graphic settings in order to play it at a reasonable 50 fps. It truly was one of my favorite games, and still is. I couldn’t wait for the sequel of this seemingly awesome game to release. But then, I saw a shift, around a couple weeks before its February 24th release. The devs had released some gameplay footage of KSP 2, and it looked different than what was expected. We all knew that this game was going to release as an ‘early access’ sim, but I had noticed that the frame rate in this video was really low. As time went on, they released the system requirements, which shocked a lot of people. At that time, I had a mid range pc (Rtx 3060 and Ryzen 5) so I felt like I would at least pass the minimum requirements. Then, release happened, and that was the day when a huge chunk of my hope was lost. Everyone on the forums were furious of what had released on that day. It was hideous. After that day, they promised that they would make the game better. For months, I regularly checked the forums for updates, but the final breaking point was at some point in June when I realized that this game just wasn’t worth it. All that had came out at the time were a few bug patches. No hint of science releasing anytime soon. So I decided to do something different. Instead of checking the forums like a drug addict, I opened up Steam, clicked over to KSP 1, and hit play. That day, I had the most fun I had in months. When science released in December, I played KSP for the first time since release and liked it, but later put it away. I remember checking the forums and saw that Nate Simpson said that there would be ‘increased communication’. Now 4 months later, what do we have? A still buggy and extremely unfinished game, with no news whatsoever about colonies except for TWO VIDEOS. So this is what I’ll tell y’all to do, go play some KSP 1, I know a lot of you are doing that. Goodbye all, I truly have lost faith in KSP 2. Maybe one day, if the game releases, I’ll check it out. For now, I’ll be playing KSP 1 and Star Citizen. Sorry for the wall of text, just wanted to show what a longtime follower of KSP 2’s development thinks. Thank you to the mod devs, moderators, community managers, and devs for keeping KSP 1 alive. Take Two is messed up man. o7 all.
  4. If 1 frame per 5 seconds is good performance, then you are in luck!
  5. God, you don't wanna know... I'm gonna update the death counter right now as my 23rd Jool mission failed. Poor Kerbals didn't even see the green gas giant get bigger and bigger as I timewarped 'em to their doom. As for the other 4151 Kerbals, most of them were flying planes upside down or "Jeb" piloting his 50th moon mission wrong. How did your Kerbonauts get K.I.Aed?
  6. Welcome to the Forums, Piloting. Hope you enjoy your stay...
  7. Wow, didn't know that, thanks for letting me know!
  8. Yes, its just a precautionary measure that Windows does for any .exe from the internet.
  9. CKAN was confusing to use at first for me, but it really is fine once you get a handle on it. It just pulls the downloads from the same mod pages that you would download manually (for example SpaceDock and Github), so it is extremely safe, as long as the mod's download link is safe (which 99% of the time it is). It a pleasure even, saving me hours of downloading the mods manually. Very few mods are not be able to be installed using CKAN (GU for example) as those mods require you to choose the configs on how you want it to run. To answer your comment about the text in a window, its just CKAN loading in, as it shows you what its doing. Other mod applications for other games do this as well (BeamNG's Multiplayer mod for example). If you have any more problems, you should ask @HebaruSanfor answers (sorry Hebaru for pinging ya). HebaruSan is the current person to ask as Hebaru moderates the program. In conclusion, I insist that you use CKAN as it is really nice to use and way easier than downloading mods manually. Have a great day, fly safe!
  10. If you look through the KSP 2 discord, you can see Nate replying to messages that we left. One of those was him confirming that smoother camera movements are planned.
  11. To add onto this thread, maybe an overhaul for the explosions (like flames spewing out of fuel tanks when the craft they are in explodes) and a fix to the SRB plumes, as they look like they are attached to the rocket like a part.
  12. Turns out that Mr. Simpson himself has confirmed that it is planned for there to be more smoother scrolling in KSP 2! This is great news to hear, I thought I might put it out there.
  13. I really hope the heart of the players keep beating in this game! Here's an update on the game's 'well being': The reason behind the visible decline is because it is night [sleepy] time (in the U.S.) which is where a lot of the KSP players are from. Hopefully we see a good pulse tomorrow again!
  14. Steam Charts are lookin' stellar Nate! Nice job on the update, seriously, and have a great holiday break!
  15. In KSP 1, there was Tweakscale, but to my knowledge there is currently no mod that allows you to rescale or change the thrust of parts and engines. A good thing is that we could ask the devs if they would like to include this, but I would recommend waiting for KSP 2 Modders to make it as someone will probably do it.
  16. This is a great update and I’m really excited for colonies as well! I have a question though, when will we see more additions to the vfx like vapor cones when flying fast, re entry burn marks on other parts besides the heat shield, fire spewing from exploded vehicles as shown in one of the dev videos, and fixes to the current SRB plumes (since they basically look like they are attached to the engine)? Just asking as I really like those little details like those. Overall, this update looks like a great foundation for the upcoming updates!
  17. My Kerbals go to random places in the Kerbolar System and to various star systems using their ‘warp drive’ (it’s really me just using alt-f12.)
  18. Please let there be the VFX explosions as seen in the dev videos. When a craft exploded, fire would spew out of the fuel tanks kind of like the mod Destruction Effects. You can see them at 5 minutes and 40 seconds to 5 minutes and 56 seconds here: And at I don’t care if it’s in this update or the next, just let there be those really cool explosions, the current ones are good, but they don’t last that long.
