This rocket is my first rocket capable of the Mun, and probably Minmus orbit. Pics to come.

I was trying to get closer to the Mun Arch by doing a hop from a nearby base collection of broken landers. I set MechJeb to land me, and from the looks of the trajectory is was going to make it... when MechJeb\'s braking burn set me down on a very steep hill. >_<

I had just had my first landing on the Mun in .15, and after a particularly rough landing, my ascent stage was on its side. I used RCS and landing legs to right myself. I immediately tried to puddle jump to the giant rock arch nearby. Of course, MechJeb landed me on a steep slope. Hilarity ensued.

I would think Epimetheus so far. It lacks the mountain ranges of Minmus, but evidence suggests that it is icy like Minmus. (At least, I think Minmus is icy...)

I\'ve been trying to find matches for Minmus in size. I\'d also like to note that the Kerbin-Mun system appears to be Earth-Moon scaled down by a factor of 10. I have found a few matches, both for its scale size and real size. Charon, moon of Pluto, is 603.5 km wide, providing an almost perfect match for a scaled Minmus. A large amount of asteroids can be matches for Minmus, the closest one of note being Epimethus, a moon of Saturn, at 56km. All measurements are of the radius.

I was going to the Mun for the first time in .15 (I got it 3 days ago), and because I\'m still not used to the new map system, I stopped the TMI right when it showed my trajectory entering the Mun\'s SOI. Unfortunately, I escaped from the Mun\'s gravity several seconds after I was captured by it, an it slinged me into a trajectory for Minmus.

I made this rocket to be more of a model, but it will actually work to get payloads into a 150,000 m orbit.

This rocket should get you to the moon and back comfortably. If you want a challenge try removing the bottom stage. Made in version 13.3 REQUIRES NOVAPUNCH PACK AND ADVANCED DECOUPLER MOD
