  1. This sounds great. I really missed this feature in KSP1 and had to rely on a mod (ScienceAlert was it?). I'm cautiously optimistic.
  2. Great job Intercept! It's great to see so many fixes done!
  3. I can't wait! It's great to see that there is work being done on the game!
  4. Are you a software developer @BmB? A QA tester? Everything you say in this thread only shows that you have no idea about anything related to software development. Which is OK - we're players not devs. But just like devs are not telling us how to play, let's not tell them how to do their job.
  5. Provide an example of a situation in which rushing devs DID help. Not your ideas of KSP development. Though I sympathize with your thinking, software development is illogical to people not involved with it.
  6. Please provide an example then.
  7. Have patience my young padawan. Rushing devs has never in the history of gaming resulted in an improved situation.
  8. (S)he is just angry at the state of the game. Deep down we're all torn apart between having it fixed ASAP and having it fixed good. But only having it fixed good will be a viable long-term solution.
  9. We've already seen what a too-early release can cause to a beloved franchise. I'd prefer that devs just take their time with this update.
  10. I see. Indeed I was not even alive in most of the 90s, let alone the 80s But I probably wouldn't even recognise most of todays RPG games. It's just not my genre. From the top of my head only Skyrim, Gothic series and Elden Ring come to my mind.
  11. I disagree. Unlike Duke Nukem, which is a shooter (I can't say about The Bard's Tale, never heard of it) there is always going to be interest in KSP franchise because it's generaly one of a kind game. There is Juno New Origins, but it has nowhere near the popularity of KSP. KSP is the only semi-realistic space simulator that got somewhat popular in the recent years. There are other space games like Space Engineers (which is focused on combat and Minecraft-style construction with no physics simulation), EVE Online (sci-fi MMO) etc., but none of them fills the niche of semi-realistic space flight like KSP does. However I do agree that the first 2-3 updates will be critical to the survival of KSP 2 game, just not KSP IP in general.
  12. People like simple pleasures (just look at TikTok, YT Shorts, Instagram Reels etc.) - like simple anime or cartoons. Since Cyberpunk was aimed at a wide audience the anime didn't have to be great to succeed. With KSP 2 it will be harder, since it's much more niche game. But I still like the idea!
  13. That is an excellent idea. An anime pretty much saved Cyberpunk 2077. So an animated movie could work well for KSP 2!
  14. I know the issues are different here. But it is (for me) the most prominent example of the development-failure-trying_again-remaster_in_the_meantime pipeline, that arguably could work well with KSP. Unlike ME series, KSP is a sandbox type game, so a remaster would actually make much more sense because it wouldn't be "the same story all over again", it would be the same possibilities with fixed problems and better graphics (*ekhem* 1st step of KSP 2 roadmap *ekhem*).
  15. How is that doing something for the community? You've just given Take-Two money. Community gets absolutely nothing from it. This is good. I've done the same, but maybe only a couple of suggestions instead of hundreds - most suggestions from this community are overlapping. I payed 55 USD (240 PLN) for a hope of a good succesor! Sumbitted > 10 bug reports and some suggestions.
  16. It's easy to forget that even though the devs seem to be very passionate about the game (Nate Simpson as prime example) it won't be their call to make. The call would be made by people looking only at money. As I see it now, there are 3 main ways things can go from now: Game gets mostly fixed within a couple of months and then (with smaller or bigger delays) manages to introduce content promised in the roadmap. After 4 years we'll all look at our current pesimism and have a good laugh, while playing the awesome game KSP 2 will hopefully be! WARNING: Hypothetical, partially pesimistic, crystal-ball (hopefully wrong) predictions below!
  17. Or he was a great employee and has done what was expected of him, so money can now go to other areas of development. Or his work was suboptimal and now will be corrected by someone else. I have no idea about the actual situation at IG and PD, but just wanted to provide a positive take on it, for contrast.
  18. Which is a very good thing to see, considering the recent news about personnel reduction at PD and IG. I really hope the undocking-destroying bug will be fixed in this update, as I'm unable to construct a big interplanetary ship in orbit. And launching one from KSC drops my framerate to ~7 FPS (I have a i5-12400f and RTX 3070Ti).
  19. Apologies, I'm still before my 1st coffee this morning .
  20. I've played a lot of KSP 2 in the last 3 days and to be fair, I might have to revise my opinion that everything hinges on the first update. While I had encountered some bugs (strange parts appearing next to craft, craft sinking into Mun surface after loading a save, staging with space bar stopped working) I had an absolute blast. I even managed to do a YT video of my Mun mission. Also, now that we have gotten some info on the upcoming update I'm getting more confident that the game will indeed not only be a worthy succesor to KSP2 1, but in time will outshine it in every aspect.
  21. It would work great for interstellar travel! To travel to a different star system you first need to discover it with a space telescope.
  22. Hi, after doing a Mun mission and then loading a save (landed on Mun) the following happened: My lander started falling through the Mun's surface. When I've tried to fly it back up it got destroyed at between -1 to 0 m height. - Lander falling through the Mun surface after loading a save When I loaded the save again, in addition to falling through the surface strange additional parts appeared around the craft. - Lander sinking in Mun surface with strange additional pieces KSP Version: 0.1.0.0.20892 OS: Windows 10 Home PC specs: Expected behavior: Lander does not sink into the surface after loading a save. It shouldn't have any additional strange parts. Observed behavior: Lander starts sinking into the surface of Mun after loading a save. When done second time, strange parts started appearing in addition. Steps to replicate: Launch game and build a Mun lander Fly it to the Mun and land Save game and quit Launch game and load save Workaround: Fly slowly up before the whole crafts sinks under surface. Once it's clear of the ground and at ~200m height do a quicksave and then load that quicksave. Mods: SpaceWarp, flags Other notes: -
  23. UPDATE: Delete key fixes the problem with WASD steering but not with Space staging. I also noticed that the staging with "space" problem occurs after going on an EVA. The only workaround I've found i using mouse and green button to stage.
