  1. Despite your preamble, I sure that I understand the point of this exercise? It would be more worthwhile to proffer a science fiction short story contest with some sort of award than this, which is essentially meaningless gossip. I’ve found that looking forward is far more enjoyable than wasting time and energy on the past. Want to be miserable? Keep a ledger of people and events that “wronged” you, or the mistakes that you made. The whole “corporations are greedy and profits are evil” is tiresome as well. The profits are a snapshot, and in this phase of development, are spent on operations and investments before the financial statement is published. People who intimate that it’s all going into someone’s pocket aren’t up to speed on business.
  2. If anyone is looking for a subject for their consumer psychology doctorate, the relationship between gamers expectations and the economic realities of software development would be a great thesis. You’d only need this forum as a source…your research would be a piece of cake.
  3. Not sure why you believe that the KSP Community is the largest problem. Almost that you are disappointed that more don’t join your outrage? It is a legitimate argument to note that the game is in EA, and plenty of warning of what to expect. Seems to me that the real issue is the price, followed by the doom and gloom worry that the games issues will never be addressed. It’s all speculation, influenced by one’s personal mindset and history with other titles. That speaks to the overall gaming software industry. I also observe that the overall mood is more negative than positive though, with the haters outnumbering the “stop complaining” brigade by a large margin. It’s fifty bucks, refundable, with plenty of information on its current state. Everyone can make their own decision, so it’s difficult to be too upset at this point.
  4. The question basically referencing emotions. The answer speaks to the attitude of the person being asked. For some, $50 represents a significant investment, others, it’s trivial, the price of a couple cartons of eggs. The gaming community in general, tends to lack worldly perspective and has a bias towards overreaction. Some call it passion, some call it immaturity. It’s probably more due to unfamiliarity with the difficulty of software development. The good news is that the game will get better, and participating in the process can be an interesting journey, IF you have a curious perspective.
  5. The drama was predictable, happens every time, but with an open mind and a positive attitude, the Early Access process is going to be a lot of fun.
