  1. That wouldn\'t be fun now, would it? I got the engine in-game and working. Nothing too spectacular, but it completes the look. I messed around a bit and made a TIE Defender-esque fighter. Surprisingly, it actually flies! Of course, I will eventually make a nice looking tri-TIE coupler. Almost done with the Interceptor wings, hopefully will have an in-game update tomorrow. Cheers!
  2. They are 'wing' type in the cfg file, so technically yes. Still, flies like a brick. I\'ll make a video of it flying soon. In the future I might modify the wings to act as solar panels, and not generate lift, as this is supposed to be a spacecraft anyway.
  3. Not too hard, just get to Altitude 2,868.4 km, velocity 1008.4 m/s.
  4. Hey, who would have known? I just call it water.
  5. Liking the concept art, and I\'m pretty excited about bolt-on external tanks. For some reason I just really love external tanks.
  6. Really cool stuff! How do you plan to launch it? Roll it off the runway into the kocean? Also, are you using the new .mu filetype or still dae/obj?
  7. I agree, the solar panels look a little out of place. I would think they would just be integrated onto the skin of the craft itself.
  8. Noice, I\'ll try that. Maybe I\'ll mod ones that look like part of the ship.
  9. Eh, hadn\'t really thought about landing. ;P Right now I\'m just surprised it will fly. I might try those... port things that come with the stock .15. Haven\'t tried them yet, but someone said they were like VTOL. My plan is just to put it on top of a rocket and get it to space. Anyway when/if I get to rebel craft, I should have retractable landing gear for those at least. Also I\'ll try to post a vid later of the problem I\'m having.
  10. Progress: in-game and flying. (horribly) On to the engine next, then back to modeling to make some more interesting wings! Also, I\'m having a bit of an issue... I can\'t connect the wing struts directly onto the cockpit, however when I attach them to a fuel tank, then move them, they will attach to the cockpit. Any ideas?
  11. Great designs! I haven\'t tried them out yet but they all look really cool.
  12. Yup, that\'s right, I\'m making Star Wars parts. Just finished my stock TIE fighter, and have the cockpit ingame. Next I\'ll put the rest of it ingame, make sure it\'s all working, then try my best to texture everything. (I suck) Anyway, check out the ugly! Here\'s the full mesh:
  13. Nice design! I hope you know the intakes don\'t do anything.
  14. Here are my failures attempts at a couple of TIEs. They fly like a nightmare dream too!
  15. I have a Saitek AV8r and haven\'t had any lag problems... I do want to try out the 360 controller though, I just don\'t have a wireless receiver.
  16. Awesome, how\'d you make the wings fold? Did you mod it?
  17. Great tutorials C7, thanks especially for the modding tutorial. Will be immensely useful. Also, I had no idea my plane had brakes! I always just crashed it into the hangar to stop.
  18. Just tried it with a plane from the spaceplane hangar, and the only options I get from the C key are 'Free', 'Auto', and 'Orbital.'
  19. Go to settings > Input, scroll down towards the bottom to Axis Controls, you should see axis assignments, then click where it says 'none' and move your joystick on the axis you want to control it with. For the buttons you can map them just like you would the keyboard. Happy joysticking!
  20. Got a pretty good view through a welder\'s mask here in San Francisco.
  21. Nice! I tried to make an X-Wing but every time I try to launch it it starts nose down and starts spinning out of control. (on the runway)
  22. Pros: -Free! (up to .13) -Cheap! (.14 and above) -Creative freedom -Stupidly easy to make MODs -Constantly getting better due to the hard work of the amazing team Cons: -Bit of a system hog at times -No dual monitor support (would love to see orbital view implemented this way) -No other planets... yet!
